I've always passed by this place on the way to Whistler and never thought to stop and try it. Our friend was actually the one who recommended for us to try it. We were on our way to Whistler and we were looking for a quick bite and I remembered this little place along side the road. My friend said to get a single fish, burger and the clam chowder. Our burger was really good and we wished we had ordered another one. Our fish n chips were good as well. A nice light batter on our fish. This is a definite stop anytime we are passing by on our way to Whistler from now on.

Went for a hike in Squamish, so decided to stop by here on the way home. It's really easy to find since it's right beside Britannia Mine. I arrived around 12pm and it was already busy. I assume the woman working today was the owner. She was the playing the role of cook and cashier, so she was definitely busy, but it only took around 10mins for my food to be ready which was great. She was really friendly. You could sense that she may have been overwhelmed by the number of orders she had to take and make but she did an excellent job managing. Not sure how people could give this place 1 star. You can't come here expecting fine dining, especially with increased Covid protocols. It is visibly a diner style setting. I got the Mountain Burger and small fries. The Fries are standard handcut, which by no means is a bad thing. They're like Whitespot fries, but crispier. The burger was awesome. Flavour cheese and juicy patty. This is a spot that I could see myself driving out of my way to eat at on a nice day and I live in Coquitlam.

Holy fish and chips! Wow is all I can say. By far the best crispiest and lightest fish and chips I've ever had. Must stop on the way to or from Whistler. We also got the poutine (also delectable with a fresh made brown gravy that's so rich and complex), as well as the clam chowder. This place is the real deal. Do not pass this place by, she's making great food in her bus kitchen!

Best lunch with the best view!! Along the route from Vancouver to Whistler, this is the best place to stop and it's about half way. Coming from Vancouver it's right after the mine museum (and easy to miss) The fish and chips and burgers are both incredible. My son ate a hot dog and loved it. Great service, awesome little place to eat!

Holy cow, this place is awesome! Just what you'd hope for as a tourist in Canada. Dive bar type of feel, the kitchen is literally inside a school bus, enough room for like 5 people to eat inside. Now for the best part. The FISH & CHIPS. OMG. We're from Oklahoma and I've never experienced such buttery, flakey, fluffy fish in my life. I legitimately didn't want the experience to be over eating it. The cook said it's fresh red snapper, not cod. I'm carrying on with this review to emphasize just how good it was. MUST get if you're ever out that way.

Nice place just off 99. Service was prompt and courteous, food was fresh. Fish and chips were crispy and light, but the fish itself was thin. Fries were hand cut and good. Kids had plain hotdog and burger and they asked for seconds. Only issue was the owner getting mad because we parked next to her car, were no signs of "no parking" were posted. She told us "no one ever parks there"...well that's great, but how do you expect us to know? There was enough space in between cars for our SUV to fit and then get down comfortably. She even said "don't scratch my car". Ugh. The restaurant is unique and after she saw we were parking to go to her restaurant her demeanor changed and was very nice. We are respectful people, she was rude and condescending and the only person in all our days in Canada that was not polite and welcoming.

Soooo great! I have driven by this place countless and never imagined I was missing much. I was wrong, very very wrong. My boyfriend loves this place so he finally convinced me to stop in and now I am hooked. The burger was very tasty and they clearly use high quality ingredients and make things from scratch. I tried a couple bites of the phone and the gravy was so rich and flavourful. I am actually excited for my next stop in. Who knew you could eat so well out of a bus...

Perfect stop for fish and chips on your way to Whistler or Vancouver.

Fish and chips were awesome -- as good as I've had them. Also hear their burgers are great. But the ambience and location beats all. Located next to a scenic highway that runs along Howe Sound, the view is stunning. The restaurant itself is actually an old bus transformed into a kitchen. The owner (I presume she is the "Mountain Woman") is super friendly. There is some indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating. Just a really pleasant stop on your way to Whistler or Vancouver.

There is a whole new development with ice cream, bakery, and 3 or 4 eating establishments, all perched overlooking the ocean and the mine museum. We wandered in, and were seated right away, lots of room (it is sort of at the back of the new village area, so you'll pass by 2 or 3 competing options for food first! And it just opened on Thursday - we knew we were lucky! First, the view. The restaurant is perched looking over the highway (or Autostrada in Italian) for an amazing view of the sparkling ocean AND the towering mine museum, freshly renovated and looking good! Plus there are a few mountains scattered around, it IS BC, after all! Second, the fish burger. They have an oyster bar right as you come to the front door, they do seafood towers, it is THAT kind of a place! (On the side of the highway, in deserted little Britannia Beach, I know!). The rockfish was done perfectly, in a burger, and Im no chef, but the sauce gave this the best taste of ANY fish burger EVER. I asked for the side Caesar alongside it - and IT was the best Caesar salad EVER - and I used to make them! Something about the really finely grated cheese and slabs of anchovy filets - and the fries looked good too - but the combination was LIFE CHANGING! (thats why I HAD to write a quick review) Third, the bar. Crazy to serve drinks as you are headed down the highway, isn't it? Almost entrapment! OK, so if you could only have one or two drinks, you'd want them to be GOOD drinks! They have great beer and wine selection, but the bartender mixing the drinks is MADE for Pisco Sours and fine cocktails, crafted right in front of you. He mentioned that he had his OWN version of Pisco Sour - and Im going to highly recommend having a cocktail and looking out at the world with a renewed satisfaction. Third, the patio. No lineup - YET! The word will get out! (Right here) High top tables and chairs AND lowered firetables and couches facing out over the ocean, with umbrellas - classic! And beautiful, well done, interesting - check out the rosewood looking art deco couches, lift the cover on the firetable - here comes fall, it WILL come in handy! You COULD lineup in Squamish for a fast food joint. You COULD be 50 deep at a restaurant in Whistler. OR you could turn off the road in Britannia Beach, explore the new village, find the ice cream shop inside the old church - they hail from Ontario, so they KNOW what they are doing! Autostrada hails from Vancouver, you can find an outlet there too. Add in a great bakery, a stroll to the art gallery on the waterfront, a tour of the mine museum - and you'd better leave early because this is going to be a "secret" favorite stop for years to come!

It's rustic in that honest, country way: wood, warmth, and a smallish-town Squamish vibe that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. The location does half the work for the ambiance, the rest comes from the feeling that someone actually cares about feeding you well. This is home-cooked brunch with intention. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and every plate feels thought out, like it's been tested by real people who eat breakfast for a living. The pancakes are the headline act--huge, fluffy, unapologetic, and exactly what you want when you're leaning back in your chair wondering if you should order another coffee or surrender to a food coma. And if the night before got a little loose, the double Caesar is a public service: bracing, restorative, and delivered without judgment - oh my aching head. What really seals it, though, is the staff--genuinely welcoming, on their game, and clearly proud of the place. The Crabapple Café isn't trying to be trendy or precious. It's just very good at what it does. A must-try in Squamish, especially if you believe breakfast should be comforting, filling, and a little bit healing. This is not our first time, and definitely not our last. The cafe has become our way station before heading up to Whistler. CHEERS!!!
