Perfect for hiking the Shenandoah National Park and there are many wineries/breweries around. We also found a few great restaurants as well in the area! The owners do such a great job communicating great recommendations. I would love to come back and stay again one day!

This included a wood stove - set up & ready with starter kindling & matches, a fire pit with a large stack of neatly split oak logs (we loved the fire under the stars with the sounds of the river below), a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of fluffy towels and comfy, soft linens. A raccoon theme added a fun touch, too. We quickly made ourselves at home and stayed warm & happy. Oh, and did I mention the hot tub? Wonderful!

On our DC to North Carolina vacation, we stayed in this lovely, well manicured property located in a quiet area. We stayed in the main house, the Redbud Room, which was beautifully remodeled, comfortable and cozy and clean. The ensuite bathroom was well lit with all the amenities. We wish we had more days to enjoy our room. We loved it so much that we popped open a bottle of wine, ate snacks and watched movies for a romantic evening!

The only downsides were that the fire pit solo stove didn't have a lid to help it go out so we had to wait outside longer than we planned until it went out and there were a good amount of bugs (expected in the area the cabin is but it was still a lot). The views and our overall experience at the cabin was exactly what we were hoping for so we will definitely be back! We were near plenty of places in a nearby town for meals and groceries and our goal was to complete the Old Rag hike and we were close enough to do it! :)

The privacy is on point. The hottub and the swing, perfect! We did some grocery shopping to make our meals on site. They also had a small grill. The washer and dryer in the cabin made a huge difference because we went hiking a couple times and it was hot out! The only thing that threw me for a loop was their small pond. It looked amazing in photos but in person it was a small pond with rocks and gravel. But everything else was wonderful! You can go offsite to see beautiful waterfalls etc. There is a community rec center across the street with a large pool. We stopped in to see it. Staff there was informative and friendly. So if you wanted to hop out of the Hawksbill gate and go across the street you can enjoy the pool!

The pool is a lot of fun with the slides. It will keep your kids entertained for hours. It could benefit from a few more umbrellas for people to sit under. Otherwise very well kept, even the restrooms were very clean. The bike track and rc car track are great. Also very well kept. The dog park is quite large. We ended up not needing it, as we just walked the property with the dogs instead. The sites are decent size. Beautiful views all around. We did the river tubing. It takes about 30 minutes to go through it all. They do not have tubes to rent. We ended up getting some at Buc-ee's for $14 a piece. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend coming here!

Expect that they…read moreonly wipe down the kitchen counter and fridge but leave all the crumbs behind in the cabinets, along with old food bits and gunk in the sink from the previous guests. Also cleaning staff will fail to refill the hand soap and shower dispensers before you check in, so plan to bring your own. Front desk said staff will come fill them and 10hrs later still nothing. During a follow up phone call, the high schooler working at the Welcome Center said that staff is just too busy to refill the soap, even after waiting patiently and without complaint for 7hrs. I felt that like was unreasonable. Facilities are cool, river floating is awesome, location is beautiful, but cleaning crew and front desk might suck.

The master bedroom is a spacious size with private bathroom. The other two bedrooms are also very comfortable for kids or another couple to stay in each. The kitchen is very cute and functional. The view is fantastic at the top of the mountain which I believe they have the best view of the area. When I visited there, the weather is about 50F, it was so nice to spend time in the outdoor hot tub and look up at starry sky. Definitely going back for more fun stuff to do such as hiking, canoeing, tubing, etc.

We visited during the Veterans day weekend. My husband has been really interested in camping but…read moreI'm not a fan of roughing it.. So I booked one of the small cabins here. We showed up at night and it was so dark when we rolled in. The moment you pull in there are rabbits EVERYWHERE. They should advertise that more because it is so unique! My only issue was that I was afraid we would accidentally hit one. Thankfully we got to the cabin without incident. We started bringing our bedding and necessities in to the cabin and noticed that one of the outlets was broken so we didn't want to use it just in case. The next morning we went into the office and let them know about the issue. They were surprised and really apologetic about it. Luckily there were other cabins available and we got moved into the one closest to the restrooms. So we switched locations and settled in. In the office you can purchase rabbit food so of course we did. As soon as these guys see that bag they will all hop there way straight for you. I had bunnies all over me. It was magical. I saved some of it for the rabbits hanging out with us at our campsite. That evening we had a wonderful little dinner by the fire with our bunny neighbors. We got a small refund that we didn't expect. I think because of the outlet issue. This is a great place to visit. We will be back.

This campground was fun! Sad we only got to stay one night…read more Highlights This campground has a river that runs through it and a beautiful waterfall. They also have a big heated pool, mini golf, a camp store, you can rent golf carts, and they also had a fishing pond with loads of fish. You were only allowed 3 fish each person. They also have tons of rabbits running all over the campground. You can go tubing in the river which less than a foot deep it seems. Downside: The sites are small and there's really no room to park your truck. They do have pull through sites and tent sites. The site we were on the electric kept going out which shouldn't have happened. They said they wouldn't get anyone out to fix it until the next day which we were leaving the very next day. It was a somewhat muggy night that we had to spend without air conditioning on. We made it work! The restroom/shower house needs to get updated, it was very dirty and out dated. The only thing that was a challenge was how to get to the campsite the road was skinny and hard to see people coming the opposite way. A recommendation I would call this campground "Bunny Falls". It would attract more campers there. If we are ever in the area we might try this campground again but ask for a bigger site. I was able to take some pictures. We were at site 83.

We've visited Chesley Creek Farm twice and will continue to return year after year…read more If you are looking for seclusion, nature, and a personal touch without sleeping in a tent this is the place for you. The cottages (there are 4 to choose from) are well appointed with everything you need and lack exactly what you don't need in a place like this (phone, tv, or internet). The cottages are in Dyke, VA about 20 minutes from Skyline Drive so it's very easy access for hiking. It's about 45 minutes to Charlottesville where you can shop for groceries, go to dinner, or just hang out if you need to reconnect with the city. The cabins have jacuzzi's, full kitchens, grills, backyards with fire pits, indoor fireplaces and board games. They also have a salt water pool in the main house that you can use (and I recommend after a hike!). Personal touches make this place what it is: they've thought of everything. We also loved the fresh cookies that were dropped off at our house and Chuck and Stew always write us personal notes to welcome us to the house. Looking for privacy? The cabins are secluded and you enter them via a keypad on the door so you don't have to check in or out...just come and go as you wish. I highly recommend this place! And will be back in the fall.
