Still, after approximately six weeks, he started loving it. Coach Shelby and Coach Agnes helped him learn the exercises in a fun way, and he has recently graduated from the "parent and me class." So, now he attends the Penguins class, which is for toddlers 2.5 years old (30 months) and above. He goes to class by himself and looks forward to it every week. My six-year-old niece was also very shy. In the beginning, she started in the cockatoos class for preschoolers; this was when she was five, and just recently, she graduated and now attends the flamingos class. My niece had Coach Andrew for cockatoos, and he was terrific at helping her gain confidence. At the Flamingos class, my niece has a coach, Alyssa, and she is doing so well! My niece won't stop bragging about her fantastic coach! I noticed Coach Alyssa truly cares and encourages her every time. Overall, they are very happy to attend. My sister tells me that Customer Service does a great job. There is an ongoing "Happy" feeling in the facility, and I feel this is because they are so family-friendly. The building has always been clean. I noticed there are not enough chairs in the lobby for all the parents and visitors like me, mainly during 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm (peak time), and it makes sense because even though the facility is enormous, there are so many classes with many children with their parents and all want to see them. I am happy and grateful my nephew and nieces love it and that there are places like this one that positively shapes their life.

This Katy Cinco Ranch location is very family oriented and has plenty of space & equipment. I have yet to have any issues with waiting to use equipment even when it is busier. You will find a surplus of treadmills, free weights, squat racks, benches, and more for all your exercise needs. There is also a child care area available for the younger ones. In addition, they also have a gymnasium with multiple side rims, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool. Other areas available include a stretch room, cycling room, group exercise room, and another smaller weight room. They have plenty of locker/storage space as well, located is some weight rooms, outside the restroom/pool area, and inside the restrooms as well (the ones in the restroom require your own lock). One of the things I love most is they have a water fountain with a filtered water bottle filler so I can bring my empty water bottle from home and fill it with water at the Y for my workout. Another thing I appreciate are the several sanitizing stations for your hands and for wiping down equipment. Overall I'm extremely happy with this Y. The staff are very friendly, they have plenty of parking and allow 3 free guest passes per year (my previous Y made you pay for all guest passes). The only slight negative I've found so far is that they don't provide basketballs for the gymnasium due to people not returning them, which is understandable. Thus, I highly recommend this YMCA!

They don't have as much equipment as the other one in Katy, but it's not bad and it's somewhat similar, and might even be a 5 star if the greeting staff had been friendlier. It's often quite quiet in here which I like, and which you wouldn't expect considering a lot of fairly well-to-do people live around here and Cinco Ranch isn't flush with gyms (or flushing toilets) (OK it probably is). It has plenty of space and is a pretty good gym all things considered, and I'll probably be using it again in the near future. The hard part is getting in the door, of course. I'd like to try door number one, Monty.

This area was down for a little while because someone must have broken it, but the maintenance crew fixed it up relatively quickly. The play area is well equipped with a tall tree tower with tube slide, swings, miniature hill for the little ones, and climbing structures. The whole area lacks ample shade, so choose the time of day and season accordingly. The pool is locked for residence I believe. Same goes for the restroom. Water fountain is available. Notes: -The sidewalk has uneven steps near the splash pad area. Careful when you walk. - There are often times fire ants near the bench area because of food droppings. Be aware when your little one sits or stands near there. - Press the button in the front of the splash pad to activate. I think the splash pad is only open during the summer.

The curriculum as we were told, looks great and covers all aspects of STEM. Important to mention that there was exotic smell of food being freshly prepared as they serve healthy meals.
