I had Movement Mortgage for one year. Here's my experience: The company was quick and helpful when setting up the mortgage. They were communicative, and made things as clear as possible for me. Their web portal is very intuitive and has a lot of tools that are helpful to homeowners, however there is no option to arrange for bi-monthly automatic-payments. No issues arose around payments, escrow, etc. Altogether I was very pleased... but, like most companies, everything changed after they got me locked in. The extreme level of detail they went into to figure out my financial picture was frustrating, to say the least. For example, trying to get the representative to understand that my shift schedule is arranged around a 36 hour week followed by a 48 hour week (8 hours of 1.5x pay) took the better part of a week. It was just incomprehensible to them that I didn't work a regular 9 to 5. I had to explain my pay in every way I possibly could before finally getting them to understand. Shortly before closing, I was sent a closing cost estimate. This estimate was roughly $7,000 less than what I was expecting. When speaking to my representative (Movement Mortgage loan officer Nick Swain) I asked about this discrepancy. I was told they double checked everything and they were CERTAIN the number they gave me was accurate. Come closing time, lo-and-behold they needed an extra $7,000 because they miscalculated, which I reminded them I brought up before we were here. They took no responsibility for the amount due, but helped me arrange to roll it into my mortgage. I wasn't very happy, but my apartment lease was coming due and I didn't have the leverage to play chicken. During the initial discussions, I was told very clearly and specifically by Mr. Swain that "Movement Mortgage will NOT sell-off my mortgage to another party", it was made out like selling mortgages to other lenders was not an honorable thing to do, and Movement Mortgage was above such disdainful acts. I wasn't exactly sure why he was so adamant about not selling the loan, as I never mentioned it as a selling point for me. Well, exactly 11 months into my mortgage agreement, I was notified that my loan was being sold to a third party. Surprise, surprise. Lastly, I have reached out to Nick Swain maybe three or four times since Movement Mortgage got my money, looking for assistance in minor mortgage-related matters and clarifications. Not once have a received a reply. The extremely attentive and helpful customer service that I got prior to closing was nowhere to be found once I had no other way to provide them profit or Mr. Swain commission. Altogether, in my opinion, Movement Mortgage is a shady business, hiding behind a guise of helpful faces and a polished user-interface. read more

Movement Mortgage has a large group of very pleasant people to associate with should you ever need to. I call every month to make sure they have my cashier's check number. This company has been great the first two years I have been with them. I recently got divorced and got a couple months behind. They make it nearly impossible unless you only send Cashier's checks or checks through the mail. The app won't let you do anything once you login and they no longer want any kind of payment over the phone. The people you talk to are still very pleasant, but all they can do say they are sorry and agree they think it's stupid how Movement Mortgage by Service Mac makes it so hard to make a payment. It seems to me they don't want your money. They want you to default so they can sell your house to another person. I do also want to include that I have never had any issues with them "losing" a payment or anything like that. They must have good record keeping in their company. When I catch back up, I do and will still recommend this company. They really just need making a payment much easier. read more

you guys are very unprofessional, waste of time, i could have gonr to some professional lender who will value my time. i will definitely put a nice review in on google and every social media platform about how movement mortgage conducts business. i highly feel a form of discrimination and judgmental towards my fiancé and i. after having me sending all my documents, i reach out to people to gather all documents required and you guys never provide any update and no one follows up. joe talk a good talk but not walk the walk. let me guess im not white that's what i get out of this. joe send email requests to set meetings to discuss mortgage application status and he never follow up i text him he never acknowledged my messages joe riggs is a liar and he a fraud. i will put everything on google review, facebook, tiktok, instagram and all the other review platforms. i am highly disappointed and disgusted by movement mortgage. hope other potential clients get to see this company true color. read more

Cant get a call back in regards to my second loan This firm has made it impossible for me to refinance my house and I have left multiple messages starting to think the second mortgage is a lil fishy because I was charged and it can't be found by movement corporate office so I was told to contact this Office where my loan originally came from and never received a call or any information read more

Updated rating because the branch manager, Don Gidley returned my call same day about our experience. He was very apologetic, kind and seemed very sincere. He took the time to listen to me and our experience and explain my file and provide reassurance. He also said that he will be speaking to his loan officer Tyler about our experience with him and agreed after looking at our file that we could have easily been given a pre-approval or pre-qualification quickly. We are not sure that we will be moving forward with this company at this time but it was nice to know that the branch manager cares and returned my phone call. read more

I am so very disappointed in the time I spent with Candace McClosey, she has got to be the most unprofessional loan and non commitmed officer we had the to deal with. 3- 4 months and still spinning her tires not response to emails, text or phone calls. I'm a new homeowner. I was very careful with working with my Lender asking all the necessary questions. The response time to my calls were mediocre at best, and my lender kept changing the amount I needed to close right up to closing day. I was told my closing costs were already paid by me towards earnest money and the appraisal which I paid that was about 630.00. At closing I was told that the mortgage company stated on the final documents that the appraisal was covered by them and I owed them 630.00. I didn't have the money readily available due to being told differently by my lender. I then had to cash advance for the amount requested and was told the 630.00 will be sent back in the form of a CHECK. I'm now struggling to buy things for my new home, my credit card is almost maxed, and my credit score dropped 7 points. I don't usually leave reviews. But this was not a very good experience for me. The only reason they get a star from me at all is because I was able to secure my property. read more

We took out a mortgage with Movement Mortage in November of 2021. It was always our intention to pay it off as soon as our last home sold. In March of 2022, we sent them the approximate balance amount and figured that the next statement would reflex that. Even though it was a wire transfer, they lost the amount. My bank was able to recover my funds but resent them in May. Movement Mortgage lost them again. I cannot give them anything but a failing review until this matter is resolved. In the even they do resolve it, I will pot a more positive review. read more

I refinanced with Movement Mortgage back in September and it has been nothing short of horrible. The loan was transferred from Movement Mortgage Dovenmuhele to Movement Mortgage Service Mac. They misplaced my payment in transition and I have been dealing with debt collection and letters ever since. I have provided documentation numerous times including the cashed check. Keeps charging me a "Bad check fee". I pay them via electronically, always enough money in the account. Every month, regardless they charge me this and will not take off the fee, already submitted a formal complaint with them, that i WILL NOT pay that fee as it is false. They have also taken full funds from another bank account that they should not have access to, causing me to go in a very large debit with my bank. I am reporting fraud with my bank to get this money back. read more

Customer service was subpar, representative was very condescending. They are unwilling to assist with changing due date of the loan despite being discussed with loan officer before getting the loan. If this company can't understand people have bills that come out at different times of the month and how much a simple change to the due date can assist with on time payments then they don't care about people. Can you put negative stars? This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered! My husband and I both had horrible experienced with Mike Kenney. I called him after he sent us emails requesting information that was impossible to obtain. His assistant Joelle told me to gather information so that our case can be heard by a " committee " we've been working on this case for over two weeks but obviously Mike has already made up his mind. He stated " I know it's against the law to tell you that you're denied but I'm the manager of the company and I'm going to deny your loan'! Really? Why didn't you tell us that a month ago instead of charging us for an appraisal and making us jump thru hoops and missed appointments? The loan process started out great with Mike. He coached us on what to do with our credit and answered up front questions. As the process continued we slowly slipped into a lower priority for him. I know being a mortgage person may be redundant with client questions and concerns but when someone is shifting money of a purchase (often times the biggest purchase of their life) they have concerns. Also, on the very first meeting with mike he made a promise to us and at the end he did not follow through (he knows what it was). So for that reason I can only give Mike Kenney and Movement Mortgage 3 stars. Shop around. Avoid this mortgage company at all costs. I made the mistake of switching from Midflorida Credit union to them. Jim Golotko promised that they could meet the closing date than the next day passed my mortgage to Daniel Kirby. When it came to crunch time I was ghosted, no responses to emails or calls. I reminded them that closing was two weeks away, nothing. The week of closing Daniel passed me to Sergio Mendoza. When I asked if they were going to meet the closing date he just went "ugh, let me talk to Daniel" 2 days before closing no responses to emails or phone calls. Ended up not getting the home because they dropped the ball. I wasted thousands on home inspections and surveys. I figured since they have all my stuff the next process would be quick. Agaisnt better judgment I asked if they could help me into a different home. Daniel said " of course" He Ghosted me completely, no call backs, no emails, nothing. My experience with Mike Kenney began about a week and a half after my property management company told me I was being given a 60-day notice to vacate beginning January 19, 2018. Having been regular paying tenants for three years with no issues astonished with the news doesn't begin to describe what we were feeling. Worst mortagage experience ever had , information kept changing day by day , wrong disclosures , no Responses from the so called supervisors . Two months my loan has been sold to another company , I'm totally ok with this . The worst is that you get a letter from your home insurance stating your insurance has been cancelled , reason THE LOAN GUY DID NOT ISSUE INSURANCE PAPERS TO BE SIGNED, Mike Kennedy number always on voice mail , the mesages are never returned .
