Recently made a return to Movie Tavern to see The Housemaid (great film). Overall, this place offers a great movie experience. From the comfy reclining seats and the screen/surround sound systems, to the plentiful offerings of food and drinks. Pricey refreshments though? Yes, of course... They keep this theater super clean. There is plentiful seating around their front bar space. Overall it's a solid gathering space to meet friends, grab a bite, and enjoy a new film. Good addition to this mall. read more

This was my second time seeing a movie here but first time ordering food. With our movie time we decided to arrive about 30 minutes early to also grab dinner to make a fun little evening out of it. We went with having the food be delivered to our seats and had time to eat and through our trash away before the actual movie began (previews just finished). It was very nice experience and the food was good. I'd recommend both wraps but the Cali Wrap was our favorite also upgrade to the sweet potato fries! read more

The screen is huge! The chairs are absolutely amazing. I wish airplanes would learn from them. Each seat comes with a tray and a cupholder and you can bring food and drinks to eat. from the bar. which has happy hour until 7. so get your drinks for your 7pm show! and then let the chair recline, and have fun. btw, get the seats after row D. for the screen size, rows AA, A, B, and C are just way too close. We recently went here to go and see the latest Jurassic park movie, which the movie began with a snickers advertisement (product placement) . This is our favorite theater, it so clean and the staff are very nice. The pretzel combo is a family favorite, and this theater makes the best pretzels. Besides the majestic this is the only theater we frequently go to, we love this Marcus theatre location. read more

We went to see Mean Girls this trip. It was easy checking in because we bought tickets ahead of time. Inside the theatre it was super clean and the reclinable chairs were really nice. We decided we were going to try the food this time. The pulled pork sandwich doesn't look super pretty but it was actually a pretty decent sandwich. The fries were nothing to rave about but good sandwich. Now the chicken wrap my friend said tasted good but she texted me later saying she was having food poisoning symptoms (I'll leave those off Yelp) so I'd stay away from the chicken. Overall good place to watch a movie but maybe stick to the popcorn. read more

Solid movie theater, saw wicked here. Clean and enough staff. The lines for concessions were super long though, which took a while, so maybe another concession counter would have been nice or some encouragement to utilize the app. The bar and menu are expansive, though wildly expensive...but it's a movie theater so I guess paying $30 for popcorn and two drinks is expected. We haven't been to the movies in a long time due to Covid and a strong dislike for superhero movies. The mister wanted to see Ferrari so we headed in to this theater. First - I love the whole recliner concept. Super comfy. (Enough so that the dude next to me fell asleep) Second - food/drink delivery? Sounds great! Prices were honestly very fair on drinks. Went to see Mean Girls. The theater is nice, chairs are comfy, and there is a a wide variety of food options with delivery to your seat available. I had the buffalo wrap and it all tasted good. However, I had food poisoning symptoms a few hours later. I shared food with my friend and she didn't have any problems, so it had to be the wrap. I had just come off lunch on a missable rainy Sunday and anything out door was out but I wanted to salvage my Sunday and do something and I thought what movies are playing that I can catch that I would want to see so I jumped on google. Bullet train at the movie tavern in Brookfield was starting in 45 minutes and I have yet to check the place out so off I went. 45 minutes gives me enough time to drive to the suburbs, have a cocktail and make the movie like it was destined to be on a spontaneous whim. This end of the mall is a relatively a new rebuild compared to the mall it self so I can't wait to see why Marcus would build a new theater not far from their amazing Majestic which is the same concept with a bar and food also. The theater is clean looking with a nice squareisah bar, tables, outdoor patio space and a food section where they bring your food to your seat which is dream loungers. Theoretically you can get drunk while watching the movie because drinks and food are allowed in your seat. The bar was tab was ok at $9 for a double gin Rickey. The theater was a smaller one for my movie that was comfortable with good sound. Overall this community gathering space for food, adult beverage and a move is a one stop spot and a nice addition to the mall. read more

I haven't been to the movies in a long while because I'd almost always rather catch a movie at home. However, my experience at movie tavern was great and almost enough to make me choose to see a movie in theaters rather than wait for it to come to streaming. I happened to choose Tuesday for my movie which I was unaware of at the time, but they have great deals on Tuesday's for the tickets and food. I had a really nice experience with popcorn, a burger and fries, and a chicken tender and fries meal for a lot more reasonable price than it would've been if it were any other day of the week. This is a great option if you like going to the movies but the cost is a deterrent. The seats were comfy, the food was delivered to us in our seats, and it was actually very clean (cue to memories of sticky floors in other theater experiences). I'd definitely recommend this theater to anyone looking to try it out, bonus if it's on a Tuesday. read more

I'm an avid movie lover, my favorite times to go are weekdays during the afternoon by myself with a big ole bucket of popcorn. This movie theater is so nice... recliner lounge seats that are heated!! You have a little table per seat too to put your food on. It also serves real food such as pizza, tacos, hamburgers etc. and they will bring the food to your chair if you order food besides popcorn. And if you become a member, $5 movies on Tuesdays! They don't require you to wear masks now either. read more

We had a great experience start to finish. We booked a private cinema event to celebrate some birthdays. We got there early hoping to grab a drink at the bar and peruse food choices, but they were closed. However, someone noticed us waiting outside so they let us in early to order drinks. The bloody mary and wonder woman drinks were great! We were also informed once we could order food - they were so nice and thoughtful to let us in and help get us everything we wanted when they didn't need to. Great staff! Everyone was welcoming and quick when preparing our orders and not grouchy the way I would be if people showed up 30 minutes early. Thank you!! The theater was clean and the food was hot (and delicious) upon delivery to our theater. We got 2 pizzas, the tavern sampler and a whole slew of popcorn. Loved the chicken tenders, mozz sticks and pizza. I heard the fries on the platter were amazing, but I didn't have room for more. This was a great experience and we look forward to coming back. My daughter & I had tickets to see Jurassic World Rebirth at the Marcus Movie Tavern. Unfortunately our experience was marred by a group of 6 teenage boys who were seated next to us. They were loud, disruptive, went behind the seats (we were in K3-4 which is the last row), were throwing stuff & just being obnoxious. We tried to ignore it, but it was very difficult to even hear parts of the movie. I wanted to go get staff, but didn't want to miss the movie, didn't want to leave my daughter there alone & was afraid what they might do to our seats had we both left. There were no other seats nearby that we could move to. Finally I just said "Could you please cut it out or I will get the manager" which quieted them for a while. I thought it was policy that unaccompanied minors were not allowed. We saw them walking by Lou Malnati's afterwards so they obviously were not old enough to drive. I kind of expect this type of behavior at the AMC Mayfair but not at the Marcus Theaters (that is why we chose to go here instead). It was a good movie. Unfortunately we really couldn't enjoy it. I used the "Contact Us" to tell them about our negative experience, but basically got a canned response. I looked up the unaccompanied minor policy for Marcus & it says that they are not allowed without an adult for movies after 6:00 pm. Well, our movie was at 6:00 pm so I guess that didn't apply? I will think twice before going here again. Why waste money when you can't even enjoy the movie! read more

This theater has a service where you can purchase tickets online. I attempted to do so, but after going in it had the wrong date (1/9/25). I immediately clicked the cancel ticket button more than 5 hours before the show (and immediately after I saw the mistake). I then went in to purchase the proper ticket. My refund did not include the "service charge". I emailed Marcus thru there "ask Marcus" email. I received a computer generated response only. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and is not actually customer oriented. I understand it is only 3.87 but they did nothing to personally address my concern. I would NOT recommend anyone using their pre show ticket service. Its very difficult to navigate and it is easy for this service to disguise the date and other information. They do nothing to earn the "service charge". Their people have NO customer focus. read more

For the movie - West Side Story: While I am a purist and the original will always be a fav, I can't explain enough superlatives about the casting of Maria, Rachel Zegler. Unbelieveable in soooo many ways. Wow, she is a star and what a phenomonel voice. Also, it was a great tip of the hat and great performance by Rita Moreno! Nice! My whole family however, agrees, this is best on DVD, simply so we can fast forward through the "Tony's," played by Ansel Elgort, "singing" ..... Mick Faist is great as always ... and I sometimes felt weird thinking of the Newsies as being the tough guys in a gang! Went yesterday to check it out and the bar is quite nice with 8 televisions and a large projection screen. All theaters use digital laser projection and we sat in the recliner dream lounger chairs. Since food is a large portion of this model, all the seats have a swivel tray attached for your food and drink. My chair did not have any heat like other theaters, but it did have a USB charging plug. This is a welcome addition to the area and I might wind up using the bar more than the theater. You can even order with app and they will deliver your food to your seat, but I did not try that. Update: after being here a few more times, my wife and I have decided this is our go to theatre from now on. The service is great and they continue to fix any small issues that pop up! read more

Really wanted to check this place out as I liked Silverspot cinema. I thought the experience was not comparable. The kiosk you use to order your food didn't work. We had to wait for a manager. He was prompt and friendly. Made sure our food order actually went in. The theater was decently clean but it was done in a hurry. Food was brought out during end of previews but it was so dark it was hard to eat. The food was ok. We had the chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. Just average food that lacked flavor. The Nutella donuts were great though. Not sure I would order food here again. Overall very underwhelmed. read more

I enjoyed the movie experience immensely. The reclining seats are comfortable and the digital projection system is excellent. We did not have an opportunity to eat but they have wisely partnered with Zafiros for pizza and we're big fans. Many movies are best best enjoyed on the big screen. We'll definitely be back. Update: I went again with a friend for $5 Tuesday. We stopped in the bar while waiting for our movie time and I enjoyed one of the best burgers anywhere. The service needs some work though. A nice new theater. I wouldn't match it to the Majestic but it's a nice closer option for me. It is different in that it is connected to the Brookfield Square mall so sometimes parking can be a nuisance but it is a nice theater. They offer a bar which is what makes it a "Movie Tavern" The theaters are in true Marcus farm with the dream lounge recliners, some with heat, and most with swiveling tables which is a nice touch. I haven't tried any of the ordering bells and whistles to know if the process works well or not-but for an average movie go-er It was just fine for me. read more

My fiancé and I have visited a couple times now. During the second visit there was a glitch that kept our free diamond tickets from being used but the staff/manager was very professional and handled the situation. Adam was the current manager on duty and even before I met him I saw him greeting guests, asking them about the movies they were seeing and helping to get them excited about the film. If you are looking for a great movie going experience where you can order some good bistro food then this is the spot. read more

I am going to be honest. I was disappointed with this place. I thought this would be a bistro type experience and it turns out it is one step above silverspot cinemas. If we could give half stars I would give it two and a half. My main problem with this place is that they discontinued service during the movie and have those reclining chairs instead of uprights. Why the f would I want to eat a full meal in a recliner? So I can speed up the inevitable acid reflux from their fried food menu? Plus those little tables are not big enough to have a whole meal! All in all, it is just as much of a cluster as the silverspot. Also, service at the bar sucks hard. They have outfitted themselves with electronic shot pourers that fit onto the bottles. What a bunch of idiots! Some pencil pusher egg head in accounting is trying to save money so he comes up with the brilliant idea to make the employees use these shot measurers. Guess what? All of your drinks have like three to five different shot mixes and it takes forever to get a drink. A drink that should take one minute to make now takes three minutes! This backs up the bar and any service in the theater. Not only that, but each measure is precise, so all of the drinks are weak and expensive compared to any other drink I can buy at a normal bar. Here is a newsflash for you Mr. Marcus; none of this makes the movie enjoyable. It makes it worse. I felt bad for our bartender, she look pissed that she had to use these things. Anyways, there is a reason why you almost never see bars using this crap. Well, one good thing about the whole experience is that I did a survey and got two free passes. I will be using those for the Bistro, a superior concept that these people already own! How could be so stupid, not to just duplicate that? Instead, you made your brand worse and spent millions attaching it to Gruber Square and some Whirlycrap that looks empty and a total waste of money. On a side note, the food was typical bistro food, which is pretty good bar food at a decent price. The execution however was lacking, you have to order it at the concession stand and a person brings it out to you. We went on a Thursday night when nobody was there. I can imagine the whole scene turns into huge shitshow once the place gets busy. Another stupid decision. Let's make a system where people order whole meals at a concession stand (that will not take long:lol), and have servers who are going to serve the food, but not get tips! Lol. This is not going to end well. Your worst enemy could not have developed a more incoherent plan, but let's not kid ourselves, one of the dopey rich grandkids probably developed it. In conclusion, this whole development is looking like a sack of stinky nuts. It is nothing but subpar chain restaurants a person can find anywhere, (BarLouie, an Outback, Uncle Julios, Red Robin)connected to a dying mall that lets the town ambulance chaser put a 60 foot banner right in the middle of it. Then they try for the movie theater which is a worse version of something great that Marcus is actually running currently (the Bistro) and attach that movie theater to one of the dumbest concepts, Whirlyball, ever invented. Man, we truly are living in a version of Mike Judge's Idiocracy right now! They should show that during an 'Ironic truths from yesteryear' movie series in the future because that's the only way I will go back! read more

The Movie Theater is Great One of the best I have been too. It's clean spacious Reasonable prices and also have a nice big Screen TV in the tavern part. The movie chairs was comfortable and they recline but a little hard because of the newest of it. The sound was superb the lighting was dark the bass was deep. The wife and I went to check out the new Movie Tavern this week and, as both movie and beer lovers, we were not disappointed! First, we didn't know it was $6 for movies on Monday's. Then we got two free popcorns. And to top it off, we got a liter of beer in a big mug that we can get refilled for cheaper every time we go back. We went with the Sam Adams New England IPA. I hope they continue to get new, fun beers to try. I'd like to see a little more of a local selection and more IPA's if possible. I noticed they have two of each beer tap, mirrored on both sides of the bar. I'm not sure that's necessary. Just use the other side for more unique beers and put them all on a tap menu. We saw the movie Joker. Good movie in a spacious and clean theater. Reclining seats and tray tables are nice. I think they'll bring food to your seat if you want, but we didn't try that. Maybe next time. Overall, a great experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll be back. Probably on a Monday again, with our huge beer mug. read more

I typically never leave reviews but this place has so much potential it's hard not to. It's a 3 bc the theater is lovely, clean, modern, and has great movie times. It's comfortable and was fun to go to. The food- however- was disgusting to say the least. We ordered a cheeseburger, nachos, and chicken tenders- all for $50. The only edible thing was the chicken tenders (albeit nothing special). The cheeseburger was mushy and my7 year old - who I've never seen turn down a cheeseburger- wouldn't eat it. I tried it and got why. We ordered nachos to share - for $15- and these were by far the most disgusting part of the meal. They use cheese sauce (which I never like) because it made the thin chips so soggy. It wasn't even a nice cheese sauce- or was like the cheap nacho sauce you get at a convenience station. The chicken we had added was rubbery and stale tasting. We left 95% of the dish to waste. Go have fun for a movie here but don't order anything resembling a "restaurant meal." read more

I waited until I visited twice to write this review, as I was unenthused after my first visit. A quick recap of the first visit: our ticket buying experience was seamless using the app as usual. We had no problem printing out the tickets or finding our seats. After looking at the app I realized you could buy your food/drinks without leaving your seat. This was a huge win for me, as the lines were pretty long when we walked in. So we put through our order for pizza and chicken tenders. After waiting well into the movie we went down and checked on why we hadn't received our food yet. Apparently some glitch in the app prevents any pizza orders from being received by the kitchen.... would have been nice to know. So then they put the order back in, and we return to our seats. Again, a half hour+ passes by with no food. My husband returns to the concessions to inquire and in the meantime, our food finally arrives. Pizza was a mess - nothing like the typical Zaffiro's thin crust crispy delight we love. After the movie they were kind enough to refund us and provide tickets to a future movie. Fast forward to the second experience. We ordered in the line this time, not wanting to make the same mistake. They take your ticket and scan to deliver to your seat, which a nice touch. Once we're settled in our seats, watching the commercials they play prior to the previews, we keep hearing an echo. So we were worried about if this would extend to the movie as well. The movie started late, and not sure what was going on because they played three commercials and then when it should have began previews it restarted on the same three commercials. Luckily during the previews and beyond there were no more sound quality issues. Our food was delivered, we had ordered pep and green olive, and received pepp and green pepper. So back down to the concessions we went... We also tried the Tavern burger with a coupon we were mailed. It was mediocre at best and not really worth $13. The other thing that is really irritating is the price difference here on pizza. You only can order a size Medium (no large) but the price of the medium is the same as a large at The Majestic. We are huge Majestic fans and have been frequenting that theater for as long as it's been open. We'll keep trekking out there despite the Movie Tavern being closer. read more

This is simply nothing special and not very different from the other Marcus locations, where is the value add for this? Sure the bar is bigger, with a couple of really large screens, but who is going to spend that much time in the bar, when you are going to see a movie? Drink selection at the bar is no different, it would sure be nice for a local company to feature more local beers. Food, we didn't order, but you have to order at concessions, then it is brought to you, so not really a full service experience. Popcorn was not good, stale and despite asking for butter, little to none there. This is just not unique or different enough to think about returning, lots of options for movies these days. read more

Greg Marcus needs to figure out what to do about security in his theaters. There were kids FaceTime the whole movie, they tried to talk the whole movie and when you complain to Management and they threw a huge fit. I worry that something more is going to happen. Enough is enough. Now onto the food: Not only was the food lacking flavor but the service was rude. I was going to tip the young lady that brought us out the food but not with her attitude. Meh. The seats were large and comfy- they reclined and were heated. You could only get food or beverages at the bar or kiosks. They charged my credit card twice. Still working on getting my charges reversed. The food is still the same as at all other Marcus locations. And it's pricey as always. The only plus is that you don't need to tip the food people. read more
