First time in a long time at the AMC Mayfair Mall location. Husband and I had a giftcard that we were excited to use on a movie we both were excited to see - Project Hail Mary! He purchased tickets well in advance. Staff was pleasant as they checked our tickets and took our concession order. Popcorn was yummy and who doesn't like a Coke Freestyle Machine? Our movie played in the "IMAX" which I think is just the largest screen available at the theater, it's definitely not an IMAX. I thought the picture was great, my husband felt it was a tad blurry. Sound was loud and enjoyable compared to home viewing. My rating falls due to the outdatedness of the theater itself. In the bathroom there were sinks and papertowel/soap dispensers not operational. The seats are "old school" as my husband put it... Plan to be sitting upright for however long your movie plus the pre movie ads/trailers go on. I guess I'm privileged in that I am now use to "dream lounger" seats and ample walkway space in each aisle. We sat in the middle section of the row, and lets just say if you have to get up to pee, every person will need to get up to accommodate. The floor was sticky. My husbands seat cushion was "broken" so he was particularly uncomfortable. Overall, AMC, please update this theater! It could use some TLC and I think with that, the location would have a resurgence of popularity as it is the only AMC in the area. read more

Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. I rarely give a rough review, but I was appalled. The floors were sticky, filled toilets - just gross. Same can be said for the floors in all areas of the main food area and theater. Seems like they need better cleaning solutions. read more

We went to see Stitch Head at AMC Mayfair for their Halloween promotion event since it's the closest theater to us. The staff were very friendly, which we appreciated! The theater itself, though, could really use some updates -- it feels a bit bare bones with little decoration or ambiance, especially compared to other nearby theaters. As for the movie, we expected a fun cartoon spin on Frankenstein, but it ended up being pretty slow and not very engaging for older kids or adults. Still, it was a free event and a nice family night out, so we made the most of it. read more

The movie was outstanding and the staff is very nice, and patient. Both at the ticket counter and concessions. We decided to order the drink, popcorn and candy bundle. The facility was clean and the theater we were going to watch our movie was easy to find as were our seats. We were watching an IMAX movie which was a wonderful experience. The only negative feedback is that the seats are small and we were sitting literally on top of each other with our arms crossed pretty much throughout the full screening. Quite uncomfortable to be honest. Thought it was strange the seats didn't recline either. They do have a bar in the facility for drinks as well. Movie was amazing. Haven't been here for a very long time. Came to see the prescreening of the update to the classic "How to Train Your Dragon". The theatre is on the second floor of the Mayfair Mall. Parked in the back of the mall, and took a quick escalator ride to the entrance. The lobby of the AMC is huge. Lots of space to mingle. I didn't get any refreshments, but plenty of other people were. Because this was a special event, you needed to stand in line and get validate your special invitation. That took a while (all those boy scouts), but wasn't the fault of the theatre. No lines for the regular customers. The theatre itself was very large. I have spend most of my recent movie going at the Marcus theatres, with the dream loungers. This theatre has the old/standard seating. It was fine. Comfortable, and no issues with the people next to me. After the movie, the theatre and the lobby looked like a popcorn tornado had come through. White kernels everywhere. I would come back. read more

I love this AMC but I may be biased since I am an A-lister. It is very rarely packed, so lines are fast to get through. The popcorn is always fresh! I've never had problems with an icee machine. They may not have reclining seats, but they are not bad! Theater 17/18 have fancy leather seats to sit in which are my fav! The old carpet is so nostalgic! Visited here for an advanced screening of Red One. While most of the staff was very helpful, we were told by one person to go in the larger line though we had "skip the line" passes. Something about "you'll be called up to enter first". Then noticed a line to the right of other "skip the line" folks. Not a big deal but we waited for a bit to make sure we got in early so wish it were a little more organized. The staff were incredibly nice considering the crowds of people. The theater was spacious and they have a huge area for concessions. They also have a fully stocked bar which helped for a little refreshment during the movie. All in all, not a bad spot to grab a movie. Clean theater, too. read more

I went to the 3:30pm showing of Scream 4. I ended up leaving, the theater had a group of teenagers talking, using phones and running around. There's no way they were 18. I went out to find an usher but there were only 2 people working at the entire theater. One guy at the front counter with his feet up and the concession attendant who was good. There was no ushers or managers. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a movie. read more

Had the pleasure of going to this theatre recently for a screening and it was such a pleasant experience. The place was clean, the workers were friendly and everyone was very respectful in this packed theatre! My biggest qualms were the seats and space. I do not like how close everyone has to sit together and how little leg room there actually is. If you're looking to sit back and relax, it's not possible. But the seats are at least comfortable to sit in. Plenty of parking, although I also wish it were clearer about where the theater actually is. It's on the second floor, towards the back. read more

We went to see a 10pm showing on a Saturday night. I don't know if it's because my husband and I hadn't been to a movie theater in a long time, but we expected it be decently busy, but the place only had maybe less than 10 other guests present. We got our tickets quickly and went to the concession stand. It looks like they have a mini bar, but that was already closed. I got a small popcorn and the lady working the register told us it would be cheaper to get a small popcorn + a drink as they had a $5 deal for it (the small popcorn alone was coming up to over $5). We are grateful for her letting us know, but also why does a small popcorn cost so much? The popcorn tasted pretty stale. The theater itself was fine - it was clean, but other than that it was fairly average. The whole experience was okay, but we might try a different theater next time. read more

We saw a movie here. I admit it. We love Milwaukee but what can I say - she loves movies more. I'm serious. Yes, I really AMCerious. Massive and awesome movie theater located in the northwest suburbs of Milwaukee at the massive Mayfair Mall - which is a pretty old and spectacular looking gargantuan mall - where you can catch a bunch of cool movies. We've been here once now, and we were thinking of coming here again last time we were in Milwaukee but decided against it - I guess we're a little pressed for time. I recall when AMC opened this theatre at Mayfair; it was a Big Deal. Bright, shiny new auditoriums, special screens for adults only with a full menu, an alternative to the stranglehold Marcus Theatres had on the Milwaukee market. Fast-forward a decade and this theatre really has not changed. At least not for the better. The Premium screenings with food were shuttered after a couple years and the seats are in disrepair. Meanwhile Marcus has upgraded their food options, installed full-fledged restaurants in some locations, rolled out assigned seating, and even installed recliners. What did AMC do? Added a bar and a couple new kiosks. The only reason we come here is because we're movie fanatics and AMC's A-List lets us see up to 12 movies a month for just $22. Trust me, if Marcus had something like this, you'd never see my face at AMC again! read more

NEVER I MEAN NEVERRRRRR go to a late showtime. i come out of the movie theatre and am trying to exit the mall to get to my vehicle and they tell me it's closed and the only exit available was across the mall from where we parked. Security takes us to the nearest exit, leaves and we proceed to literally walk around the entire mall building outside in 25 degree weather in wisconsin at 11 pm at night trying to find the front of the mall and get to our vehicle. horrible absolutely traumatizing this movie theatre literally had me and my man thats literally limping from having a messed up ankle walk around mayfair mall outside around the entire building. thankfully it was us and not the elderly, a family with kids or someone with worse injuries. for us to have to walk around the exterior of almost the entire mayfair mall is insane. ruined my damn date night. never go here period!!! also don't even bring in a water bottle cause they'll make ya leave it w the front desk. -0 stars because me and my man are now going to be sick af and still can't feel our legs and have pain in our ears for who knows how long. never signed up to walk the entire perimeters of a big freaking mall. It's a movie theater in a mall. Which, to be honest, is a great idea. A mall shopping spree begs for a little post-shopping entertaining relaxation. This movie theater is convenient for me, so we've been on several occasions. It's your basic modern theater with large screens and great sound. The seats are basic, but comfortable (ie: no recliners here). The prices are about average. Regularly priced shows are $10 per person, matinees are $9, and they have some weekday morning shows for $5 (niiiice!). Parking is pretty well defined (parking garage is best). Parking can get crowded, but I've yet to not get a reasonably close spot. Beyond that, it's your basic mall movie theater experience. A-ok! read more

I visited this theater on the 4th of July weekend. We bought tickets online and parked near the exterior theater sign. We then wandered the entire length of the mall since we didn't find good graphics/directional as to where the theater actually was. A nice arrow pointing upward would have saved us a lot of steps. When we got inside the bar was closed and there were only a couple people working concessions. My friend got popcorn and it was obviously not fresh. Boo. There were only three other people in our movie, but the place over all seemed like a ghost town. Also it seemed as if you could wander from theater to theater endlessly with no one to notice. Alas, you wouldn't want to because the old school seating is not comfortable in any way. It's close, but that's its best quality for me. read more

Probably over rated at 2 stars. Ordered tickets and snacka thru the AMC app the day before the show. Show starts at 630, chose 620pm for snacks to be ready. Arrived at 625pm, had to wait to print tickets because they can't scan the QR code. Young lady working the area as you come in was hollering at people to get printed tickets. Went to concession pick up area, had to ask them for the order and wait for it to be ready. 630pm start time on the ticket, previews finally started at 647pm exactly. One of our seats was broken on the bottom so it was leaning forward, I took it so the rest could enjoy the movie. Tried the popcorn, stale and cold, 3 people ate maybe 2 inches and we threw the rest away after the show. Overall just a terrible experience...can't recommend anything about the theater. The only thing decent was the ice and soda machine. read more

Just your average movie theatre... well I mean by the older standards I guess. Do not look for this theatre to have any razzle dazzle as there is not any. The popcorn was pretty average as well. The seats do not recline and the arm rests do not rise so it is hard to get truly as comfortable as other theatres with the upgrades. read more

Went to see Dune part 2 on IMAX. Let's first start by saying, this theater is not an IMAX. It resembles an IMAX, but the screen is not much bigger than your typical large format screen & definitely not worth the $40.00+ upcharge. Lobby...not too bad, concessions, yeah expensive, but good. Ok....now onto the movie experience. The seating was the worst ive been in since the 1970's. Cramped, leg room is less than an economy seat on a plane, the seats must be from the 70's...upright, flat, and downright uncomfortable. The theater was pretty full, but someone didn't get the memo to turn on the air conditioning. By the end of the movie, we were all asking for covid tests, because the room felt like a overfill sweat soaked locker room, with no air flow whatsoever. This movie theater reminds me of my childhood- It has not been updated since then. It's clean however just a tad bit old looking. The seats in the movie are not the best- again they just need to be updated. Ended up having to leave early due to kids being very disruptive throughout the movie! (Which they should have not been allowed to see it was R rated movie- they had no adult with them) To compensate the manager did give us movie passes. I was going to leave 1 star but manager giving me a pass to return warranted me to leave 2 stars. read more

First time coming to this theater and it will definitely be my last time. When entering the theater it was not busy. The ticket purchase was easy. The concession desk lacked a cashier and when he showed up I was amazed by his presentation, just unkempt! The popcorn was already placed in bags in a warmer. I wanted a cocktail but there was no bartender to tend the bar so it was closed. When I walked into the theater it was dirty with garbage on the floors and in the cup holders. The was also something sticky spilled on the floor and not mopped up. This was not a good experience and the place seemed short staffed. They must do better than this! Came in to watch a movie @ 7:45, and the white trash cashier with glasses sold us the same movie we planned to watch only difference was that she sold us the one that started @ 7pm. Obviously the movie started w/O us, proceeded to get a better understanding why the movie started earlier than documented. This is still a "go to" theater for me because it is a really nice theater with all of the new upgrades that they've been doing. Most recent promotion $5 movie Tuesdays until Oct 31, 2017. However, you must purchase your tickets at the ticket counter. Upgrades AMC Stubs Premier (Formerly AMC Stubs) Now this is confusing. So the AMC stubs is free, but if you pay a membership fee, you get more perks? Bar Now they have a full bar with a nice selection of spirits to choose from and they usually have a promotional drink for the most popular movies. The one thing that I don't like is that you won't earn stubs points at the bar so you have to have a manager at the Food counter credit your purchase to get the points. Who wants to go thru all of that when it usually takes a manager like 20 minutes to come? Food They have some amazing new food items! Some of the items are definitely over priced, but others are great additions! I've only tried the Chicken and Waffles and it was good. Waffle was crispy on the outside with just the right amount of sweetness (No need for maple syrup). The chicken was freshly cooked and had a nice flavor to it. It breaking was crispy and well seasoned. The Curly fries were good, nothing special. It came with dipping sauce for the chicken, which was baffling to me bc who eats sauce with chicken and waffles? Or who eats the chicken and waffles as separate items? However, it did surprise me that it came as a sandwich, which I did enjoy. My mom tried the Mustard and Kraut Dog (without the mustard) and she loved it! Her only complaint was that she wished she had more Kraut. The hot dog was very plump and juicy! Definitely an upgrade from the previous hot dogs. Just to mention, make sure that you ask that the bun be steamed bc it seems that it doesn't normally come that way? Surprising yes, but I almost missed out on this bc the server didn't even mention it. Some other friends tried the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and they enjoyed it very much. I tasted it and I didn't enjoy it as much bc the flatbread was a bit fluffy and I was hoping for it to be a bit more crispy. The toppings were good, but I don't think I'd order it again. They have a Triple Feature, which includes your choice of entree, Curly Fries, and a warm chocolate chip cookie. I was told the chocolate chip cookie wasn't good so I don't think I'll be trying that any time soon since I'm picky when it comes to cookies lol. Overall, of definitely recommend the items on the new menu and I'm excited to try some of the other items! P.S. This theater is the only one that has IMAX 3D in the greater Milwaukee Area! read more

Watch out for this shady theater and dishonest manager. I bought imax seats and instead had a regular screen. MANAGER says call cust service and use my name. When they call him ti verify he lies and says I made the error. Scammed me out of 50.00!!! And the place is dirty w old ass seats instead of nice recliners. read more

The seats are narrow. The aisles are narrow. The seats are sticky and it smells a little odd. The concessions stands are understaffed perennially and the kids working always seem confused as though a medium popcorn and large soda is a completely new concept. They let people bring very small children in to movies that aren't kid friendly and then they don't do anything when the children act up. People sit on the stairs, they talk through the movies. These sorts of things don't happen at other theaters but it's like AMC encourages it. Before your movie starts you're sitting through 10 minutes of commercials, 20 minutes of previews, and another 3 minutes of more commercials. Our movie had a 4pm start time, but it didn't start until 4:30pm. It's annoying. The sound is really inconsistent. It ranges from ear bleedingly loud to not being able to hear the dialogue. The prices are high for the quality. read more

I haven't been to this theatre/mall since I left my home state. Alot has changed. I went very early during the polar vortex...not too many patrons in the theatre. I enjoyed my time at AMC. It is a mall movie theater, which if you ask me always bring around a different crowd. This theater in particular is always oddly busy, people always talk during the movies, they seem to be understaffed and the theater just isn't up to par these days. I am very partial to Marcus Theaters by now especially with the dreamloungers. The prices seem to be a bit above average and it can be tricky to park with it being at the mall. They do have it labeled well where you may want to try and park. All in all just your average run-of-the-mill movie theater that doesn't do much to go above and beyond. read more

Conveniently located inside Mayfair Mall, AMC is a nice place to see a movie (and good for date night!). I have the same complaints with all theaters that show new movies: tickets are too expensive and concessions are overpriced. With that said, AMC is one of the cleanest theaters and they appear to keep up with general theater repair - I've never seen any broken seats, screens are nice, bathrooms are fully functioning, etc. They have so many screens here - it's really hard to fathom how large this place is from outside it. It's great that it is located inside the mall, because if you make a purchase elsewhere and have a store bag you can bring that in with you... perfect decoy for stashing your movie snacks! ;) I recall long ago - when this theater was new - they did allow food/drink carry-ins from the mall; however, the last time I tried (about a year or so ago) that they told me I had to dispose of it before entering. So making a purchase to obtain a bag (or byob - as in bring your own bag from one of the many mall retailers) is essential. This place can get really busy during the weekend. I recommend seeing the movie of your choice here during the week when there aren't many people around. read more
