Great Festival!!! Friday night is great music this year by ZBTB. Amazing food truck vendors as well as the bars, ice cream and restaurants that are open. On Saturday and Sunday they add on more great music, more great food trucks. Then you have your craft vendors of sorts and random events like the duck race on Sunday. read more

This was so fun!!! So many vendors! There were a wide variety of vendors, and it was all well organized. Interesting things to look at and good food, too. It was fun to watch the Duck Race- they dumped rubber duckies from the bridge!! There was live music over in one section (by the B-side) and you could sit at a table in the shade. This event continues to impress every year! There are way more vendors than other local festivals and regional events and the location can't be beat on the canal. It's kid friendly, has food for ALL tastes and I also found it very accessible for strollers, etc. read more

It's great to see how this festival has grown over the last five years. It was bumping when we went on Sunday! But not in an overcrowded way. It was a beautiful sunny day, which is always perfect for festival hopping. I'm not one for browsing the vendors -- I more so go for the people watching, beers, and snacks. But we did end up tasting some awesome bloody mary mix from "Muddy Mary's Bloody Mary Mud" -- great bold flavor, well-seasoned, just enough heat, and not overloaded with horseradish. We picked up a small bottle for $8. Beyond that, Canal Days is filled with local artists, jewelry makers, etc. Definitely lots of options for family fun too -- cotton candy, canal walks, ice cream, etc. I also really enjoy the jazz music they have in the gazebo -- we stopped by to check out Madeline Forester. One of Willy's musician friends was playing drums. They now have a tent covering more tables and seating so that's nice for a mini-break if you're walking around all day. Fairport Brewing Co was hopping too! Worth a stop for a refreshing beer. We always stop by Blue Cactus for some coronas and appetizers since that's where we had our first date five years back. Canal Days in particular is nice because the center of town is right on the canal so the view is picturesque, and you can stop in all the little shops, cafes, and restaurants. I don't get out to Fairport often so it's nice to see what's around there now. Even if you don't want to buy anything, it's great people watching and a good excuse to get out of the house for a few hours. read more

2018 was our first time at the Canal Days. We recently moved to Fairport and the festival was high on our list of ways to get to know our community a bit better. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the festival. A good portion of Main Street was blocked off for booths and pedestrian traffic. There were also a few large branches off main street that contained vendors. Food selection was typical fair food, a few above average food trucks and many more generic finds (think fried dough, fresh squeezed lemonade, sausage and peppers). Art and craft vendors were diverse with something for all price ranges. The shops along Main Street were also open and the library was having a book sale during the festival. We found the crowd to be relatively tame and family friendly, aged baby to grandma. No pets allowed. A shuttle is available if you park at the school or if you're lucky you may be able to find street parking. Overall, we had a great experience. We will definitely attend in future years. read more

This was my second festival of the night. Living in Rochester, there are usually multiple festivals each weekend during the summer. I realized upon arrival that I've never actually been to the town of Fairport. It reminded me a lot of the Pittsford canal area. Open water to walk along, cute little shops, lots of people out and about. It's an entirely different crowd than Pittsford though. Not quite as classy. The festival seemed to be a popular spot for a highschool date. Lots of teenagers making noise in big groups. The festival didn't offer very much. A few booths for typical festival food, a large tent to eat under... at least the band was decent while I was there. We kept looking for more. Maybe we missed part of it? We did a pretty thorough search but didn't come across many non-food vendors. My advice is to explore Fairport, but not necessarily during the festival. Check out Moonlight Creamery while you're there. Of the three ice cream shops we discovered, this was the best. read more

Fairport Canal Days - Festivals Near Me - Fairport, New York

I have been going to the Fairport Canal Days for many years now, I love to get to these festivals even though a lot of the vendors are the same. What's nice about this festival is that it's on the Canal, in the village, so you get a lot of good sights, local joints, bands, the traveling arts and crafts show, and the trains run right through it every 1/2 hour. The parking for this festival (unfortuantely) is the worst as the streets are cramped, narrow, and hard to navigate. The food choices though are great, as they have the typical festival food, food trucks, and all the local eateries. Overall a good time. read more

I attend this fest about once every 5 years or so. This year was my fave visit. Perfect weather, not too crowded, bumped into several people and met some nice new ones. Good mix of local, area, and regional vendors. read more

Ouch Jesse. You shouldn't give such short shrift to the festival. Try going in late afternoon, early evening when the kids aren't there. And as a resident of Pittsford, I much prefer Fairport over the stuffy types that frequent Pittsford. My God, does everyone in this Village walk with their nose in the air? Thank goodness for the breath of fresh air that is the Fairport Canal Days! read more
