When aiden and Simon showed up, it was just as fantastic as the first time and they gave us the same great price as before.

I experienced the worst move ever with this company. Also, they have refused, short of a lawsuit,…read moreto resolve the issues that resulted in my rating. We moved on March 9, 2022. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. Here is Moving Ahead's last reply to me: If you still do not find our current offer to be acceptable, the next step would be to begin the arbitration procedure, as outlined in the documentation you have already received. If you have any questions regarding this process, I would be happy to assist in any way possible.. I have hired Affordable Movers for two jobs and and because of the final results, give them my…read morehighest recommendation. The first job was moving a very heavy treadmill from our second floor in our home to the basement. Will was very knowledgeable in understanding how the treadmill disassembled including the electronics panel. He and his partner had the treadmill disassembled, moved very carefully, and reassembled in a very short amount of time. It was impressive to see how both of them worked on the project. The second moved was the most impressive. It involved moving five pallets loads of bankers boxes, 150 in all at 50 lbs. each, from the warehouse where I had them stored to the garage in our home about 5 miles away. They had all the bankers boxes loaded onto the moving van, delivered to our home, and unpacked very neatly according to my instructions, in under two hours! Will, who is very personable, was again the lead person on this move. He and Desmond worked quickly and efficiently getting the job done, in what I considered, a record amount of time. Frank, the owner, only wants to do his best for you. His move teams reflected the same great attitude. I have to say, Affordable Movers exceeded my expectations in every way. They would be my only choice in any future moves and the only moving company I would recommend to my friends. David Z

I normally don't leave reviews, but this experience with Affordable Movers needs to be documented…read more My parents were originally quoted $1,300 to move a full three-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom. Before moving day, they actually reduced the scope significantly--giving away an entire bedroom set and a sectional--so the job was smaller than what was originally quoted. Despite that, the price remained the same. On top of that, we handled a major portion of the work ourselves. My parents have a large amount of clothing, and we moved all of it before the movers even arrived to make things easier and more efficient. So again, they were doing less work than expected for the same price. The real issue, though, is the condition of what they did move. We took extra time to carefully pack fragile items like dishes to prevent damage. Despite that, a significant number of items still came back broken--not just one or two pieces, but enough to clearly show a lack of care. Even worse, there are items that are now completely missing, including a step ladder and framed pictures. The most upsetting part is the damage to my mother's doll cabinet and collection. She has spent 35-40 years collecting these dolls, and the cabinet that housed them was returned damaged and missing parts to the point where it cannot even be properly reassembled. This isn't just furniture--it's something with real sentimental value, and it was handled carelessly. They also promised to reassemble certain items, including shelving, but failed to do so. Based on the missing parts, it seems likely they couldn't complete it and chose not to address it. To make matters worse, multiple attempts to contact the company afterward have gone unanswered. No follow-up, no accountability, no effort to resolve the situation. This was a smaller, easier move than originally quoted, yet it resulted in broken items, missing belongings, incomplete work, and zero communication afterward. Those google reviews are suspicious to say the least.

They quoted us 6 hours initially. Even though their services were slightly pricier than others, they definitely made me feel more comfortable going with them compared to other movers in the area. On the day of the move, they called me ahead of time to confirm I want the move that day given that it was raining. They were flexible in moving an hour ahead until the rain was done. Titus, Jesse, and Austin were FANTASTIC!!! They arrived on time, carefully protected all our furniture, and a large OLED TV. Everything was moved smoothly, and nothing was damaged. They were very professional and worked so efficiently, that they finished within 3 hours. So thankful for having had a smooth move, thank you so much.

They loaded us on 7/30 & unloaded on 7/31. They weren't supposed to be at new house until 11-12 PM bc we were closing that morning, an hr away. I told 2 ppl when I set this up. Got msg on 7/31 saying they would be there 9:45 AM. I advised it wasn't supposed to be till later, no response. We get into closing & the driver is blowing my phone up. Once we made it back, I repeatedly told them Xmas goes on the lt side of the garage & everything else on the rt. Garage is mostly Xmas & wanted all together. They still put lots on wrong side, after being told multiple times. Not to mention a couple of furniture items opposite of what they were told & seemed mad when I made them move it. Furniture not set back up correctly, pieces left out, multiple screws not put back in, etc. An hour or 2 in, driver tells me that they broke a leg off dresser when loading it the day prior but didn't want to tell me bc he thought my plate was full. However, he previously told me the day before that the mirror seemed a little loose, so I was aware they didn't break it if something happens. He showed me the leg & said there was lots of different ways that they could handle the damage. Said he had to call his boss to let him know, would take pics to send him & they'd would work w/me about the broken leg. The driver didn't put the mirror back on, so I had a couple of the other guys fixing it & the leg, since the dresser was moved. Driver seemed mad they were doing that & not long afterwards, got an attitude with me. I asked where a box of screws was that I had set on another dresser to make sure they hooked the mirror back on the dresser w/all the parts. No one knew where the box went. I asked driver again bc he was the one that had to move this other dresser. He still told me he didn't know. I found them in the drawer so he lied & continued to have an attitude. When they were ready to leave the driver wanted me to sign the paperwork. He didn't have a pen & he was mad bc I didn't have one either. I said "Everything is packed, how am I going to have one"? He thought I should've had one in my purse or in my car. I said "Well, you're the driver that's needing signatures, shouldn't you have one in your truck? Who needs signatures from ppl, but don't carry a pen?" This aggravated him even more. He told me if we couldn't find 1, he would copy over my name & initials from what I signed before. I walked down the st to go dig in my car so he wasn't forging my name. The movers are all standing & talking about going to eat & wondering about traffic. I asked how they came up & would be going back. They had no idea, said weren't the driver. I asked driver & told me he didn't know. I said truck drivers know where they're going & know the roads. Said he didn't, just what the phone says. I asked which city they came by? Still tells me he don't know. I tried to be friendly but he wanted no part of this. They're all just standing, so I assume they wanted a tip. I pulled out $ & said "Here, you can split this". No one took the $ from my hand. The driver got agitated again, since he had to walk back over to take the $ & told them any one of them had could've grabbed it. They said he was the boss. He grabbed it & walked away not saying a thank you or a single word. Most others told me thanks, good luck, etc. We had a lot going on the next bit with a broken down cars, vacation, college move & unpacking. A month had went by & realized they never called back to f/u about the broken dresser leg, how their service was, or anything. I tried reaching out to the guy that scheduled, no response, then the guy that was the manager at corporate I'd spoken to, no response again, then called 2 addt'l phone numbers I had, which was AI taking the msg & said they would have a mgr return my call within 24 hrs. Now a month & half in & I haven't heard from a single soul, got a survey about their service or anything...
