Check out complaints on Better Business Bureau website. Would not recommend for interstate move outside of Planes midwest area. Charged premium for 4th of July rate but let everything sit in warehouse for 8 days from 6/29 to 7/7. Customer wasted effort and time: Moving team at origination point could not move furniture packed with clothing as explained by moving coordinator. They could have removed drawers temporarily instead of having my son in law repack clothes into boxes while I was at doctor's appointment. Wasted 1 1/2 days to get temporary no-parking permits at city and police department as instructed by estimator. Told there would be extra charge to shuttle between my place and tractor trailer van. Also bought cones for signs. On moving day a small truck that came for pickup took up less than 1/2 space reserved for no parking. The New Jersey crew did a good job at delivery. They deserve 99% of what I paid for this move. read more

Where to start!! Upon arrival at 9:40 am, the 2 extra guys were finally told there was packing to do! As I directed them on what needed packed and where it was going, the lead came with more questions about the corner cabinet again. Most everything was labeled on where it was going. Upon having Sleep number, come put our bed back together, they noticed that the legs and control box were missing for the bed. I opened up a claim, told the guy that I watched things get packed. These items were sitting in the dining room, and I instructed them that they needed packed as well. Needless to say because we weren't a long distance move and only had two stops. There's no reason for those parts to come up missing so the claim got denied. We would never use them for the amount of money we paid definitely not worth the value, and we even paid for insurance to cover any missing items so I think that's a scam on their part! In all honesty, if I could give them zero stars, that would be the best one for this company. read more

This is being written three weeks after the horrible move. I used Planes moving and Storage to move from Cincinnati a year ago. That move was smooth, it took six hours, I had the packing done I was charged around $6500. NOW, moving back from Chicago to Cincinnati a year later was a NIGHTMARE! As far as the amount, or weight difference it was the less furniture and less boxes. I packeted everything but the kitchen. I had asked for packing, but I ended up packing everything. My charge was $8600 +.- . This review isn't about the money! Its about the lack of coordination and teamwork there was out of the head office for my move. On Friday, late afternoon 4:30 p.m to be exact I am calling the head office in Cincinnati to find out what time on Monday the movers were coming. Another red flag! I had this move on the books for six weeks. They show up on time and then proceed to tell me that they had to load the truck and then my things were to be unloaded into another truck to go to Cincinnati. Things they don't tell you, and all I could think was breakage and loss. My queen mattress was not loaded until 2;30 that afternoon, I had asked what time they would be finished and I was told 4:30 at the latest. The lead guy was on his headphones 90% of the time planning a get together. He came with a 17 year-old ( not legal for moving) not trained, nice, but totally lost. He was assigned my bedroom. He threw heavy things into the bottom of the Wardrobes then piled my clothes on top. Minor issues, but that was one man down for sure. The other body that came was a very hard worker who packed my artwork and seemed to be the only one moving heavy stacked boxes on a dolley. He spoke very little English which should me they weren't a team and that this had been thrown together at the last minute. I never saw the "lead" guy move much or pack much after he was finished with may kitchen. I had a 100 year old gold inlayed 5ft x 3ft mirror that was to be crated, it was not. I also had. two 3x3ft stained-glass windows to be crated and were not. I have not unwrapped them, yet in fear of finding them cracked. Remember the move was from the exact place where my things were delivered, in 6.5 hours, and at at 8.5 hours into this move I had left my place due to the unreal chaos and lack of organization in loading the truck! I actually told them to burn everything. Most stressful move ever all because of this company out of Chicago, but as I said before was orchestrated out of the home office. The one really great hard worker barely spoke English, the "lead" was on his headset and then there was the 17 year old walking around without direction. I should have known and made a phone call at that point. I was met in Cincinnati, by a fabulous TEAM, lead by Dave and his two guys. I was so thankful! Then the boxes started to come in, I was told the boxes would be marked after packed ...not a one that was understood. I have 5-6 , 3x4 large boxes packed so heavy that I was unable to move them for me to unpack. The only marking was kitchen! Not a note to which box had dishes, pots and pans, or glasses absolutely NOTHING! Dave and his team worked hard and had to walk a lot farther than the grouping in Chicago. More boxes came in with little notes written by ? that once unpacked was not at all the items. My things in my kitchen were broken, once I finally found my coffee pot days later, it was at the bottom of a box that had pots and pans tossed on top of it..broken coffee pot . I replaced it but was told I needed to do this and that. I tell you what I am so over the Planes Moving and Storage I want nothing to do with them. My husband and I were very lucky to have Planes help us with a very quick move. We sold our home in West Chester very quickly which moved up the date on our move to Clearwater Beach. Planes had someone out right away to access what we would need and help us with a plan. They packed things quickly and helped us arrange for our vehicle to also be moved. Which allowed my husband and I to ride together with our pets. Our move day it was snowing but the team was prepared so none of our things got wet and we were able to keep our home clean for the new owners. We arrived in sunny Clearwater Beach and the trucks arrived with our vehicle. They were able to unload both trucks in one day. I gave my move coordinator explicit instructions and contact information to pass along to the crew regarding construction at the end of my street, but the crew never received this information (apparently the emails were printed and buried in their paperwork), which led to miscommunication around accessing my street on moving day. One crew member who was inside my apartment for the duration of the load out did not wear a mask at all despite my move coordinator assuring me that everyone inside my apartment would. My things were then delayed three days due to the wrong containers being shipped to my destination. Then, when my things were being delivered, I noticed significant damage to several pieces of furniture that were not wrapped (e.g., couch cushions, chair cushions, headboard, desk, coffee table, antique end table). I was assured by the crew that these items would be wrapped truck side rather than inside my apartment before being loaded in, but they were not - even though there were four crew members working on my move (a small 1-bedroom apartment). I have moved long distance five times in the past ten years, and this was the worst experience I've had yet. read more

BEWARE - BROKE ITEMS & LIED ABOUT IT Planes subcontracted to a local company to prepare our grandfather clock for shipping. Subcontractor broke the clock while doing so. Planes lied to us and to the BBB saying it was broken before they touched it. Planes' movers plastic wrapped two of our four couches; not sure why they didn't plastic wrap all of them. One of the non-wrapped couches was white. It arrived covered in black streaks on the bottom 8 inches as if it was dragged through dirt. They also lied about that claiming it was dirty before they touched it. They also broke the door to our dryer, 3 picture frames, and a few smaller items, and refused to take responsibility for any of those items either. They just kept lying until we filed a BBB complaint and then refused to respond at all. Stay FAR away from this awful company. read more

I would never recommend this company. Our move was from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh, roughly 300 miles. The cost was nearly $11,000.00. They broke my $1500 Speed Queen washer. Delivery was Nov. 8 . When the 3rd party guy (nice guy!) attempted to set up the washer, he said two grommets necessary for balancing were missing, and he would file a claim. We have called the company many, many times, but it's now Nov. 17 and no one has even come to look at the washer. I'm 70 years old and arthritic, I can't be carrying heavy laundry to a laundromat! There is a special place in hell for those who take advantage of old people. They broke my antique china cabinet. The door won't open. They scratched 2 of the cherry dining chairs, and took a very noticeable chip from the top of one chair. They broke our very expensive treadmill. It no longer inclines. They dumped boxes clearly marked "1st floor den" in the 2nd floor closet. They dumped heavy boxes marker "2nd floor guest bedroom" in the first floor living room. We are old and shouldn't have to move these heavy boxes up and down 16 stairs when we paid $11,000 to have it done for us. Planes said we can make 1 emergency claim. We used that for the washer. It has been 9 days and no one has even come to look at the washer. When they do, there will no doubt be a wait to get parts to fix it. Planes says we can only have one "emergency" claim, all other claims have to be submitted at once. The nasty claims adjuster at United Van Lines (Dawn K.) said that's not true, we can make multiple claims. Which is it? Planes says they're sorry, they're short of help. Not my problem. If they don't have the staff, they shouldn't take on the job, nor take the thousands of dollars from old people. Maybe a complaint with the Better Business Bureau will get a response from someone. I called the company in Tuesday to set up a time to do a survey of my things, the person I spoke to told me that I would get a call on Wednesday to set up the survey. On Wednesday I received an email that the survey would be Thursday at 10am (no call to verify my availability). I await my call on Thursday and it never comes, no call or email to reschedule. I give them a call today to see what had happened and the response was, "yeah, Mike got busy and is behind didn't get to you yesterday. He will call you today in the afternoon". I was very upset because there was no empathy, diligence or consideration for me as a client. I told him that I was not available in the afternoon and that they just cant assume I was available so his response was "Do you want to just cancel the survey?" I cancelled the survey and will not be using this company, if this was the service just for an estimate... can you imagine how it would be if they were actually doing the move?? read more

The worst service experience of my life: When our things finally arrived from overseas (with a 3 month delay of what it was told would have been the worst case), the people who brought our furniture were the most unpolite and unrespectful people I have ever seen. Since the moment they arrived their atitude was awful. It was like they were doing us a favor. But the worst part is that in the middle of the pandemic and with cases rising in WA, one of them was not even wairing a mask inside our house. We had to provide one. But still neither him or the rest of the crew wanted to used them properly. After asking many times to please cover their noses. And they not comply, we asked them politely to leave our house because this was not working for us. And their response was insults, I have nor heard Fxxk as many times in 5 minutes that this day. But they also turned violent. We truly thought they were going to pounch us. Actually one guy approach to my wife and I had to put myself in between. If you dont want to take precautions in your private life you can, but when you are providing a service and you are in other's people house, you can't. Later they sent a new crew that was what you were expect: educated people. But that bad experience is imposible to be forgotten. We had to even call the police. To make things even worst, we told them the day before and also one week prior to the arrival of our things that please to follow Covid precaucions during the job. read more

This company appears to think very little of the customers they have and the items they destroy/damage, at least that's how it feels. They were contracted to move my items from one state to another. Their hired movers took items, smashed them down in a box and then taped it closed. They mislabeled many of the boxes. They damaged tables, figurines etc. They even packed an aquarium full of water by laying it sideways in a box (it was in an area of the house that wasn't to be packed. They didn't pack other items in that particular area, just the aquarium). When they offered a settlement for the damaged items they stated since I didn't have a receipt for several of the gifts they were worth less than $10. When I showed there was a market for them they said it wasn't a comparison because people could ask for any price on websites like etsy (note that there were numerous items being offered at reasonable prices, but they wouldn't accept any of this info). To go through arbitration I have to pay. They are getting away with destroying things and walking away from the transaction. Their arbitrator, Lisa Mosely, is doing right by her business, but customers are insignificant and they can destroy, damage, and walk away. Further was the issue with my car. Their hired subcontractor no called/no showed for pick up. I was left waiting for several days before someone came out (the day before we were leaving). They didn't care and still went about charging full price. My delivery was delayed by more than a week and their lack of care/concern was disheartening. Hire at your own risk. read more

My company used Panes Moving for my moving from Chicago do Carson City. I do NOT recommend this company. My things were late by 3 weeks and split into 2 trucks ( and we were only made aware that there was a second truck on the day the first truck arrived), and the things were split between the trucks with no reason: I got the shelves of the book shelf on the first truck, but the frame was in the second; the top of the desk came on the first truck, but the support on the second....etc. Bulk items were just thrown in the truck with no protection ( and as a result, a bunch of the things were damaged). I have a bunch of things that were broken, bended, scratched and stained. I am in the process of filling the claim right now but have no idea if I will be repaired by them. I can not recommend Planes, at least for moving - no idea about storage. They were contracted by Mayflower to deliver my household goods in our recent move from San Diego. First, their trailer broke down after loading our goods so they had to unpack them and repack them on another trailer. This meant a significant delay (full disclosure: Mayflower eventually compensated me for this) but they did tell us what was going on, so OK - stuff happens. Second, there was significant damage to our things. Boxes crushed, a table literally torn apart, chair arms snapped off. The driver said none of this was his fault, that it was the warehouse's doing (except the table which he said he finished tearing it apart because it was already broken) or that it was broken before so that's why it broke again (mystifying logic and patently false). Third, they tried to intimidate us from filing a claim. The crew in San Diego had packed somethings they weren't meant to pack - boxes of liquor, for example, and a lot of our garage things. Yes, the boxes were clearly marked, but they grabbed them anyway. This meant some chemicals were packed, and they leaked. Strong smell and some of our stuff was damaged, but when we pointed this out they told us that it was our fault and if we filed a claim about this, then everyone who was on our same truckload would file a claim AGAINST US. The driver sent his assistant to deliver this message and she promptly broke down in tears when I said this was completely unacceptable. Fourth, the deliver crew was wildly unprofessional. The driver did not coordinate his people so they didn't protect our floors. We bought a historic home in Toledo's Old West End with 120+ year old quarter sawn oak floors and they laid down one runner of rubberized mat, barely wide enough for a dolly. They dropped something just off the mat and gouged the floor. When I brought it to the driver's attention (he wasn't inside because he had hurt himself - rather seriously - at the previous stop) he lectured his team and told them to put down more pads, which they did for a while. He went back to his truck, and they went back to business as usual, including dropping a vintage cabinet on its point and rocking it back and forth on that point. I told the mover to stop, and he became belligerent. They damaged a bedroom set by lifting a dresser by the fine carved edge - which broke off - instead of by the base as we asked. One member of the crew refused to take things to the basement as directed because it was "creepy" and hid them around the first floor. Two team members were apparently dating, so we were subjected to the other team members trying to break them up so they could get with the female team member. Fifth and final point: the driver instructed me to sign the standard paperwork and write up a list of all the damages so he could hand it to their claims department. We reviewed this list and even edited one line as we agreed it had been dealt with, but the others were legitimate issues to settle. Now the claims department tells me - a full two months later, mind you - that the driver claims no knowledge of any of this and refuses any and all responsibility, saying "it's an old house - no way to know if we really did this". I have a photo of this list, yet I'm told the claims department got a copy with further notes from the driver that I'm not allowed to see. There's absolutely no notes on any of the paperwork left with me where the driver says anything about this not being their fault. Nothing. In short, they are an unprofessional, unreliable and irresponsible company and I urge anyone considering using them to not do so. read more

My car was suppose to be delivered on 7/6 but didn't arrive until 7/7, and it seemed that in the interim no one seemed to know where it was and had to go "sort it out." When I received the car, there were also a few issues: 1) My car had a quarter tank of gas in it when it was picked up. it was on E when I received it. 2) In addition, it had at least an extra 270 miles on it and the tire pressure light was on. Another issue was that there were a few pieces of trash left in the car, one of which seemed to be a copy of someone else's certificate of title. After a lot of back and forth email correspondence with the company (where a lot of emails were from our end asking for follow up after periods of hearing nothing back), this is the resolution we got: "We have thoroughly investigated this matter with the carrier. Based on the amount of time between pick-up and delivery, it is nearly impossible for the driver to have added that many miles to your car. Furthermore, there was almost a full week from delivery until any issue was reported to us. Because we have absolutely no way of knowing what happens with a car after delivery, we have to rely on what is documented at delivery or, at the least, called into us within the first 24 hours. We would not be able to accept any liability on this car from a claim's perspective. I did explain the situation to the agency that did the delivery and they agreed to offer you $100.00 as a goodwill gesture..." I suppose I can see their point, that it can be considered our fault for not reporting the issue more immediately (btw it was 4 days not a full week), but I also had a 1-week old baby at home at the time, my husband had started a new job, and we had just moved so those were probably the reasons I didn't get to it earlier. For what it's worth the photos I sent them of my odometer was time stamped the same day as when the car was delivered. So I guess the $100 goodwill gesture is for the fact that my car was delivered a day late?? Also I would caution people to look over their invoice carefully before paying. Even after asking several times, I've still not received a clear answer on why we had to pay over $5000 for moving a small 1 bedroom apartment's worth of stuff and 1 car from VA to OH. In hindsight I really wished we had gotten a few other quotes from other companies. I do have one positive thing to say about the whole experience: the crew who unloaded our furniture into our new home was absolutely delightful. read more

First time using a moving company and I was not disappointed. They were on time for loading, were efficient and very kind towards my toddler, working around her and her schedule. They even offered to clear out a certain room first so if I needed to put her down for a nap they weren't in her way or would disturb her. My delivery window was a wide window and they worked their hardest to delivery our items ASAP and were very quick to arrive to the house. The driver kept in contact with me the entire time as for an ETA and even managed to come earlier than expected. Overall we had a great experience and I'm glad we chose them. Having never used a moving company before and being super unsure about using one period, these guys made things so easy for us I would use them again in a heartbeat! read more

Planes Moving and Storage was a pleasure to work with as we packed up our home of 32 years. The estimator let us know how to maximize our dollars, for example, how to pack many of our items ourselves. The packing crew was considerate and careful with our belongings and worked very efficiently. And the moving crew, which came the next day, was like a well-oiled machine. They were able to load the truck and wrap things up early enough that we were able to finish cleaning up that same day. Criminally worst mover of 16 in our 25-year active duty military career! We were unlucky enough to move in August 2014 out of Beavercreek OH during an all day storm; I personally apologize to the thousands of customers who never got to read this review since then, but this is the first time I can calmly write about the situation without total use of curse words and utilizing formalized death threats against this company. Their crew and up to the VP of Military Moves level, with criminal intent, and unbeknownst to our family, very purposely utilized a severely damaged/unserviceable and leaking moving trailer re-utilizing only the very driest blue heavy duty moving blankets into and out of our house while actually utilizing an entire stacked fully soaked wet square of blankets inside the trailer for padding on and against/all over all of our furniture and then purposely parked the trailer outside in the rain overnight again. Needless to say, the next day, in uniform as an active duty USAF Colonel, I witness the doors open to our trailer on the loading dock to allow for inspection and transload of furniture/household goods(HHG), and the transload crew and myself were met with a literal waterfall pouring out of the trailer in Cincinnati OH and off our entire HHG shipment. Our retirement//final move departing active duty cost us over these past 5-years nearly $50,000 to replace our water damaged furniture, household equipment, and water/mold-damaged clothing items we were forced to discard on this end of the move. We were reimbursed only some $7,000 to $8,000 for an entire lost 53' Long moving trailer's contents. We consequently sought both legal/civil and criminal culpability charges against Planes, but having spent some $12,000 out of pocket in moving-related expenses were unable to afford the additional $8,000 civil lawsuit retainer. I only gave one star because zero isn't an option. They broke items, lost items and flat out stole money from me and my employer. Brought 2 small trucks to load ( extra charge) instead of a large truck because the non truck driving estimator did not think a semi would fit. We had a semi when we moved in. So does everyone else in the complex. Never mentioned the extra charge, so wife agreed to use two trucks. Day of load went smooth, but they list everything you own as damaged or worn etc to eliminate risk of being accused of damage. Items had to be stored while house hunting. We spoke with driver about delivering to a local storage facility. He told us not to worry, storage was included in the move. Bonus for us, we saved $500 on storage costs and maybe another $500 on a U-Haul and a couple guys to help unload. WRONG. They charged us $5000 to store our items for two weeks. Called the night before delivery was scheduled, at about 7pm (business office closed of course) and demanded payment or delivery would be postponed. This of course would result in more charges. Day of delivery was okay until we went through paperwork. Missing boxes. Delivered someone else's boxes. Crew leader just wanted to leave. His comment was " I'm not digging around for a few boxes". Isn't that his job? I expect someone to contact me. I'm leaving these reviews everywhere I can think of. read more

I can't even begin to detail the devastation Planes has caused my family during this move. The other reviewer detailed it perfectly. All of our antique, high value furniture has been damaged beyond repair. Missing boxes galore. Our brand new Restoration Hardware bed arrived with a whole in it. Mattress was torn (perhaps b/c it wasn't boxed like it was supposed to be). China cabinet split down the side and leg broken off. Large black handprints all over our furniture. 8 hours late on both packing and loading day. A move that went past midnight both days. Totally incompetent claims department that wants to "repair" our furniture that clearly cannot be repaired. My worst fears with this move have all come true. I've moved multiple times, from Europe to the US and within the US. I used United Van Lines the last 3 times and the service was excellent the first 2 times. However, on the last occasion, when I moved from Cincinnati to Atlanta, they contracted out to Planes, whose service was substandard at best. I hope that by posting this review, I can prevent other people from having their belongings mishandled, lost or damaged, as happened to me. I started to be concerned when the packers in Cincinnati kept missing items, including the contents of an entire set of drawers in the master dressing room and a framed photograph of my husband. The person packing our kitchen items used the guest bathroom twice and resumed packing our kitchen items without washing his hands. (The guest bathroom has a sliding door and since I was sitting in the adjoining room, it was entirely audible.) The delivery crew in Atlanta - both super nice guys - drove down the wrong street, despite very specific instructions about where to park. After that, they drove away and spent 30-40 minutes circling the neighborhood in ever widening loops before returning and parking illegally on the same street. As a result they started work well after the scheduled arrival window. During the delivery process their absences grew longer and longer, so the whole process lasted until almost 8pm. They didn't check which items went upstairs, and would have left all the furniture downstairs if I hadn't asked them to carry it up. The packers had disassembled the outdoor deck table and the delivery team would have left it in pieces if I hadn't asked them to reassemble it Meanwhile a glass topped table, which had been separately disassembled, crated and delivered at additional expense, arrived with missing hardware and could not be reassembled. The delivery team asked me to sign for satisfactory delivery, even though one box was unaccounted for, and even though I had not been given the opportunity to locate and check the itemized high delivery items. It was a small move and after all our items were unpacked and sorted, several items were missing. The glass topped table was eventually repaired and delivered to us 12 weeks after the due date. When I complained about this and requested a refund for the additional shipping fee, the company refused, blaming me for the delay. Although I had flown to Atlanta specifically to receive the shipment on the contracted date, I had returned to Cincinnati for 4 weeks, which - by their logic - accounted for the 12 week turnaround. Beware!! Warning to friends and family in Cincinnati area. DO NOT use Planes Moving and Storage of Cincinnati. They will damage your property and not make good on their employees mishaps. DO NOT believe anything they say! Their employees LIE!! Get it all in writing!! DO NOT GO WITH these mishaps. After some research we learned there are no drug testing for this particular group, we rather surmised that. However most corporate moves are held to a higher standard, and as ours was, I would feel for those not. This company takes extra days not necessary for a safe and speedy move. They broke several things, some things are just missing, snd what boxes did make it, are in such disarray we've had to garner help to find the must have, like bedding or kitchen items. The fact that EVERY box is mismarked has caused undo stress on us all. This is by far not our first move, but I can assure you it will be the LAST one with anyone associated with this group/company. To sum up this move, we are still searching for REMOTES... that we had with each device. Linens, photos, office papers, all just a mess. There have been very few boxes labeled correctly. To find our dining, we just began looking in boxes marked laundry or bedroom...literally. No one should have to go through this, and if I have a say...at least no other employee in our company will nor any friends or family members. Word of mouth still carries weight, but these forums, they just simply educate. Advice for people looking for movers- NOT PLANES nor van lines... I wish I would have read other reviews about this company before hiring them. They did not do an OK job let alone a good or great job. First of all the sales person--as sneaky sales people sometimes tend to do--did a site survey at our house. He verbally told us all our furniture would be included in the move rate but then removed a lot of them from the fine print. The movers--getting paid hourly--moved very slowly. Again they were only moving furniture not boxes as we moved those ourselves and took 4+ hours to move a 3 bedroom house. Moved very slowly a lot of chit chatting and whenever we asked questions, their responses were very snarky. When we arrived at our new house they refused to move certain furniture into certain rooms. Complained about how heavy items were (I'm sorry aren't you working for a moving company?!?!) and made several comments about how the sales people over promise so they under deliver. When I spoke with the customer service rep and manager I was told it was my fault for not calling and complaining during the move (even though they called the depot and the rep said she would call discuss my concerns the next day). Super unprofessional. A personal friend of mine had to move 2 large items (by himself) because they refused to (a crew of 3 people). They also told me the move took so long because most of my items were large furniture (as agreed in my quote) and they needed 2 people to move the items but only had 3 people so most of the time 1 person was on the truck waiting for another person to get finished with the item they had. The driver was professional, polite and very good at communicating. His team was polite also, but they disassembled everything to the nuts and bolts, Items were not put together right missing parts. things were packed to tight they got dented and beat up. BUT the insurance claim is the worst! I didn't even claim that much but what I did claim was important to us. One major item was a newer white Washing machine you can easily tell they placed a belt around it and put dents into it in the front of the machine. They would not cover it, then tried to lie about saying it was there before the move, I sent pictures of it that was taken before the move and then they deny they can't even see the dents (cause it is white its hard to show up in the pictures but they are there) they also claim it is still in working condition. Very upsetting as we did NOT buy this as a scratch and dent appliance and we take good care of our items. Other items that was scratched was a coffee table had dings on the edges we sent the pictures in showing it then I touched it up and since I touched it up with they won't cover it. For these reasons I can not recommend this company its very upsetting when you take care of our items and they act like its not important to them so they wont cover it. read more

5 people took 8 hrs to load my 3 bd house. They brought a truck that was too small, so I had to wait more than an hour and a half for them to get a 2nd truck. The movers were literally fighting and arguing in my front yard. It took me more than an hour to get a hold of someone at the company to inform them of this. Understand I get sometimes things happen but at the point it was the 3rd time, I felt someone should probably be informed. The movers put a huge dent in a wall in the house I moved out of. I had to yell at one of the movers for trying to force a couch through a doorway because he was ripping it and I had already asked him twice to be careful. They dumped the glass out of my fire table and just left it all in the backyard. They didn't pay any attention to boxes in regard to fragile or this end up. They put a gouge in my dining room table. This move 950 miles (IN to FL) was way more expensive then my move of 1500 (NV to IN),  by the same company. About 1 week after they had loaded my stuff, they took another almost $850 from my account. When I tried to call my move coordinator and even the SVP I got no return call EVER. The only contact I ever got during the process was when they were talking about money, except for the week my stuff was to be delivered. Then I finally got some responses to the emails I was sending about what day the delivery was happening. And even still then the responses were in regard to questions I didn't ask and situations that didnt pertain to me. I didn't know exactly when my stuff was going to be delivered until the delivery driver himself called me. They did break somethings, and lost a cushions from my outdoor furniture.  This was the ABSOLUTE WORST move I've ever had! read more

Planes Moving and Storage did a move for us in January 2017. WATCH OUT!!!! The move was not too bad, until, it came to dropping off the boxes. The driver told me there was not enough time to check off the boxes. I was assured when things arrived damaged that they would send someone out to fix the furniture that was damaged. They were happy to accept a generous tip and payment but when it came to fulfilling their promise on repairs and broken items, they downright lied. When I did file a claim for the damaged items, they only covered about 10 percent of my claim, about $400.00. I was told the expensive items, ie: furniture damage could not be proved that it happened in the move. They packed liquid soap that leaked over everything...they gave me nothing .(We paid for professional packing..hmmm) They packed a coffee maker with grinds in it...I was told leave the coffee maker for last...yet they packed it. They literally threw my husbands ties in a box with terry cloth robes and they all came out wrinkled. Missing items, forget it...they say you signed that all the boxes arrived. How do you know what is missing until you unpack? Especially when they do not allow you to check off boxes...UGH!! I wouldn't be so angry had I not tried to settle with them reasonably. They will pressure you into signing their survey immediately. Of course I did, which I now regret. I now have the pleasure of having to complain to the Better Business Bureau, FMSCA and American Moving and Storage.
