Came for just drinks on their upstairs patio. It's an interesting set up in that they have two sides. When we went, one side was much calmer and the other was packed with people watching the world cup. Both are pretty spacious and I heard they change up the themes every now and then. They had a "camp" theme while we were there. I also liked that they have a happy hour! We got hugo spritz for $10 which is decent for a rooftop. They were good and not too sweet. read more

If it were just based on the staff I'd 100% give this hotel 5 stars. Our check in experience was great, the staff were incredibly kind and made sure we knew about all the amenities, and even gave us complimentary drink tickets for the hotel bars. Not only that but even the door men were so nice and made fun banter with my friend and I whenever we were coming or going. The hotel is also very nice. They put a lot of effort into the look and aesthetic of the hotel. Everything was artsy and enchanting. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the size of the rooms. They were clean and decorated nicely but the space was incredibly limited. For all the effort they put into the hotel design they really skimp on the rooms. It's basically a bathroom, sink and bed. Not a lot of room to comfortable get dressed or even stretch your legs. I also didn't like the towel situation. I know this may be a weird thing to complain about but the room legit only has two towels and two wash cloths. There's no hand trying towel or rack so I'm not sure how you're supposed to dry your hands after washing them. And there also wasn't an extra towel to place on the floor outside of the shower. Yes you can always request more towels but I feel like I shouldn't have to idk, that was odd to me. If you're just on the go, traveling alone, and want something clean and functional while also having access to cool activities inside and outside of the hotel it's not a bad choice. Throw-Sized pillows and the bathroom situation were an unfortunate surprise. I always love staying at the Moxy Lower East Side, which has easily earned its spot as one of the only three or four hotel chains I'll book if I'm not staying at a Kimpton. They are incredibly welcoming to dogs, making it a seamless, stress-free experience to travel with Sir B. The service here is consistently top-notch, with a staff that goes out of their way to make you feel right at home. While the rooms are on the cozier side, they are cleverly designed, hyper-functional, and packed with personality. And sometimes on such an occasion, the universe provides beyond your wildest expectations. In my case, the universe pointed me in the direction of a warm, quirky neon oasis on the Lower East Side. From the moment I stumbled out of my taxi at their doorstep, drenched and exhausted, my bags were taken care of and I was welcomed by friendly and caring people, who assured me I was in the right place, and that they had a really nice room ready for me. My palace for the night came with a partial city view (I believe the building in front of my windows might have helped make the room so nice and quiet), free breakfast, and the most wonderfully quiet, dark and comfortable room to crash in for twelve hours straight. Stayed at Moxy LES on July 2, 2026. I'm writing this as a serious warning to potential guests. During an interaction with hotel staff, I was verbally abused with racist language--I was called nappy headed . My friend immediately started recording. The recording shows staff using physical force, including choking, and abusive front desk staff. After that, staff called the police on me. I felt unsafe throughout the situation and believe the hotel is truly racist and I PLAN ON SUEING This incident was captured on camera. My husband and I stayed here for his business trip to NY. His restaurant is located about 5 mins away so we stayed here for location purposes. The hotel is very nice and chic. I will say the rooms are fairly small and not great for longer term stay; I think a max of 2 nights before it feels unpleasantly small. The bathroom doesn't have a real door or lock, it's just a sliding door which is weird. Overall, it was a convenient spot for us but not an ideal or comfortable hotel arrangement for long stay. read more

I was really excited to stay at the Moxy. I've stayed in one before and loved it. I enjoy funky boutique hotels. Walking into the lobby, I fell in love. It's aesthetic and lively. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Absolutely fantastic staff--cannot say enough good things. The rooms disappoint though. The room is tiny, which is fine, but I feel like with a small room the layout and organization needs to be perfect and this wasn't. More hooks are needed. The pull down table didn't work. Pillow cases were dirty. The pillows were awful. Absolutely no support. The shower was really nice, which is appreciated. However, the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Drop-off/pick-up on the side street is easy, which is great. The parking garage is about a 10 minute walk away in Chinatown. I think we paid $55 for 24 hours for a sedan. Valet is per day, not per 24 hours, so we used the garage, which is an iPark at 44 Elizabeth Street. Would be helpful if the website had this information, but silly of me to expect that in 2024. I had to call the hotel. Overall, the website is unhelpful. I loved the service at the lobby bar. I had an espresso martini and an espresso martini shot, and both were great. In the morning, we got lattes and croissants from the Cafe D'Avignon in the lobby. The lattes were blah but the croissants were great. It opened at 7:30, not 7, as stated. This hotel could be great but it just isn't, and it has turned me off from Moxy in the future. read more

Had a great stay at the Moxy Lower East Side during our family event in NY! The whole place is so quirky and fabulously decorated. See pics for sexy AF curtains, foliage coming out of the ceiling, Ms. Pac-Man and shuffleboard, and birdcage seating. Check out the basement vending machine, where you can get deodorant AND butt plugs. Staff at the front desk are very kind, helpful and patient. My in-laws were obnoxious with the questions and requests, and the staff always kept a sense of humor. God bless them. Rooms are....NY small, efficient and offer little privacy from people you're with. We're a family of four with two teens and it was a cozy, intimate experience. A few more hooks for hanging towels and coats would make a huge difference, as would a set of instructions to describe how to work the ridiculous lighting system. Other pros: this location is right on the cusp of Lower East Side, Little Italy and Chinatown, so the food options within a few blocks are plentiful. Easy access to the subway. Quiet rooms, and super comfy beds. All in all, we'd definitely stay here again on another trip to NY! read more

A convenient location and great first floor amenities await you at Moxy LES. And let's not forget an energetic door man is also there to greet you. The rooms are quaint. You won't find a traditional bathroom here. The sink basin is the size of an adult human skull. The shower and toilet share a sliding door. But the views are fairly good from the higher floors. Truly love this hotel--4th time back! It's such a gem for the price. The king suites are huge for NYC, with big windows that let in tons of light and give you that perfect city vibe. Beds? V comfy. Seriously, some of the best I've slept on. That said, if you're going to have a king bed, where are the king pillows??? Come on Moxy! Feels like a no-brainer, but whatever, still slept great. The rooms run a little chilly, which is ideal if you're a hot sleeper like me, though the bathroom situation is a bit... open. If you're staying with someone you love, you'll survive. The hotel is super close to SoHo and steps from the Grand St. station (B/D subway), so getting around is easy. It's also right by Chinatown and Little Italy, meaning amazing food options just outside your door. The 01 block of rooms has been super quiet--I stayed in 1101 and 901 and loved both. Though shelving and hooks are SO desperately needed. Send me to Home Depot, guys...I'll fix it myself. Bonus points for the smiling doorman (always so kind) and free coffee every day--it's included in the "resort fee", which is a nice way of spinning $30 a day you didn't plan to spend but have to. I didn't try the hotel restaurants, but with all the great food nearby, you can't go wrong. This place is an unbeatable value in NYC. Despite a few quirks, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. read more

I love the Moxy brand, and Moxy NYC Lower East Side is the coolest Moxy that I have stayed in so far. The design of the hotel seems to mix retro, whim, and chic together, such as a neon sign, candy dispensers, a bear statue, and greenery in the lobby. It sounds so random, but it all works somehow. The rooms are small, space efficient, and minimalist, but there are little pops of color and design to make it feel vibrant. My friend and I stayed in a room with two double beds. It was not a lot of space, but we made it work. The sleeping room lacks space, but the rest of the hotel has ample space. Food and beverage options in the hotel are plentiful. The Fix is the lobby cafe and bar. Sake No Hana is a Japanese izakaya. Silver Lining Lounge is a piano bar. Loosie's is the club. The Highlight Room is the rooftop bar. The Fix is a beautiful space, and it is where you can use your destination fee credit. I spent a bit of time there. I got work done during the daytime, and my friend and I hung out the bar in the evening. The bar staff is wonderful. However, the DJ that night was a rude and entitled human being who would come up to the bar demanding things and giving the staff an earful. Silver Lining Lounge was a disappointment. I had a reservation, and when I arrived, the hostess asked whether I wanted to sit at a table or the bar. I chose the bar and was told it was open seating, but there were no seats available. I ended up awkwardly standing and trying not to be in the staff's way. It was also right when an intermission started, so I ended up quickly downing a beer and leaving. It would have been nice if the hostess checked or knew the status of the bar before offering it as a seating option. Had things gone a little differently, I probably would have had a great time. The hotel is in a great location. It borders Lower East Side and Little Italy, and it is close to Chinatown and SoHo. There is plenty to do at the hotel with all the food and beverage venues onsite. The rooms are on the affordable side though the food and beverage will be where you end up pouring your money into if you hang out at the hotel. I would definitely stay here again, but I hope they find more pleasant DJs to work with. read more

One star for good location walking distance to Soho, little italy, chinatown, but zero stars for the hotel and our room. We arrived at 1 am after a long flight and walked into loud bumping club music and a lot of drunk people. They gave us a room on floor 2 and we went inside but it was directly over the club, the music was insanely loud, and we were staring at a roof with no view. We asked for a quieter room and ended up on floor 11 with a view, which was better. The room itself is the tiniest worst room I've ever stayed in while visiting NY (and I've been here ~50 times). No actual wall or door around the toilet and shower except for painted glass, so absolutey no privacy. The bathroom sink is in the room. No closet and no place to put suitcases. If you really want to stay here, recommend visiting solo. It is not a good setup for 2 or more people. Def will not be staying here again! read more

This is more than a 3 star review, but not enough for 4 stars... especially in comparison to the Williamsburg location which was much better in my opinion. It is definitely in the heart of a lot of neighborhoods by foot, which is very convenient for a nice walk and save money on car services... seems smaller, but same hip vibe and energy that you love about the Moxy. The bar attendant, Jenny, was super friendly and accommodating... and most importantly, made an awesome libation. I love the $30 daily credit that you almost forget about until you can use it toward services. Check in seemed easy enough and the attendants were very friendly. Room was typical size for their double bed... but, I think I'm rounding down a bit because it just seemed a bit more run down? Room didn't seem as clean as it should upon entry. Very visible dust and even a couple items of garbage on the floor... weird. It didn't give me a good impression, but not enough to complain about or change rooms.. just a little side of ick. The doormen who open the door for you all day are really nice and that is just a nice touch. I can't wait to try the other locations! read more

I took a solo trip to NYC and stayed here for three nights. The location was perfect. The room I booked was a good size, just right for one person. It had a king sized bed and felt pretty cozy. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating. I also loved having the bar downstairs, especially with the complimentary credit they offered. I definitely used that for drinks! My stay at Moxy was for the NYE and was planned ahead - 3 nights/4 days - Dec 30th till Jan 2nd. My friends and i had big plans for the NYE, but life had its own plans for my stay. There was this severe flu going around, and as im arriving at Moxy, im feeling pretty sick and just want to lie down. First of all, during my stay at Moxy, I've encountered 2 types of hotel staff - those who didn't care much/didn't do their job properly, and those who cared a lot and went an extra mile to make me feel better. This is one of those examples where, after going through something like this you quickly forget those who didn't care, and never forget those who took care of you - and this it why i want to highlight those amazing people at Moxy hotel. Second, the official check-in was at 12pm, i arrived 1,5h earlier but was so lucky being checked in by this amazing girl - Sincere (front desk) - who understood my situation and gave me a room right away, sending a kettle to my room to be able to make hot tea. These gestures made me feel so welcome and being taken care of. Next, the flu took over for the next 10 days, i cancelled all plans and my entire stay at Moxy ended up being just shower, sleep, and a pickup from online ordering. On the 31st, i had a pleasure communicating with Lucy (front desk), who was extremely kind and empathic to the fact that i had to hermit & couldn't even stand up. She offered different things to take care of me, that was so sweet. And on the 1st, after a number of mistakes of other hotel staff, i had an unexpected encounter with a manager Bernie, who happened to be at the front desk, and he kindly took care of me, resolving all hiccups along with offering a choice of either waving the convenience fee or adding Marriott points for my stay. I chose to wave a fee and he kept his word - 2 days after flying back i received a credit from Moxy for that fee. I also want to mention that the shower in the room was super. I come to NYC very often and frequently stay at different hotels, and compared to other places, the water pressure was great and the temperature of the water was actually hot, so it literally made my body relief so much pain from the flu/fever, because i had to shower 3 times a day. Also, my order from Sake No Hana - the sushi restaurant located at the hotel's lower level, was really good - that's high quality sushi. Overall, i really liked the hotel itself, the room, and the team of those caring people, and would return to stay there again. Thanks so much guys. read more

Do not stay here. The ambassador " upgraded " room I paid far too much for was incredibly tiny and directly above their nightclub which is open until 4am each night. In addition to the volume that increases all night into the morning, the room featured a view of a wall. There were no actual ambassador benefits offered at any time. No arrival points, no amenity. The sheets feel like polyester. The room does not have any drawers or shelves for your belongings and the 4 available " hangers " are attached to the wall. There is no closet or anywhere else to place your suitcase. This seems to be a hotel for the zombies living in the park behind the property...should not be part of Bonvoy. The summer months and high traffic times get expensive, but off-peak times like January through March, you can get the executive suite for a great price (for New York). The crew is still awesome and almost always leave cute personalized notes in my room. And my man, Victor, is still there! One of the managers reached out to me about setting up a corporate discount for my company, as they are trying to increase business traffic. I, as well as my colleagues, are very appreciative. We stayed here for one night to see a show near union square. It was definitely one of the most reasonably priced hotels that wasn't a complete dump in the remote vicinity. The entrance and lobby are decorated in a really unique and "cool" fashion. think "jungle chic". Check in was quick and seamless. There are 4 elevators that required minimal waiting. The elevator button situation is some pretty sci fi shit, you press what floor you want to go to before even getting into the elevator, and the screen tells you which elevator to get on to go to that particular floor. Interesting. The room was the size of a large closet. About a foot or two of space around the bed. That is all. Everything was clean. The bed was comfy. Linens soft. There is no closet or even a place to hang your towel. Only one side of the bed had a nightstand. When it comes to whether or not I would recommend this place, it's a numbers game. Every square inch of space and every amenity is pricey in NYC so it's a matter of whether it's worth the money. I am fine with this place given the fact that it was relatively cheaper than some other places I was looking at before booking. read more

Very hip hotel. Great bars within hotel. The vibe is high energy and happy. The decor is modern hipster. The only complaint is hallways and room walkways are very narrow and tight. This hotel was awesome! My husband and I stayed for a vacation that turned shit show on our end. He woke up the first day into our stay with 2 herniated disks. We had to call the ambulance to come get him which led to him being hospitalized and us extending our stay. Everyone from Jade to the hotel staff was AMAZING! They were kind, accommodating, patient, understanding and everything you need in an unexpected situation. We were able to enjoy the roof top, piano lounge, and the co-working set up was perfect! The location is the best thing about this hotel. There's also the $30 resort fee which can be used towards food/beverage and complimentary Stumptown coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Rooms are smaller than other boutique hotels we've been to and we stayed in a king partial city view. There is no closet space other than hangers along a rod so expect to live in your luggage during your stay. Sink is separated from shower and toilet, there is barely enough space for toiletries if you're not traveling alone. We would've been okay for all the reasons above if it weren't for this.. this is currently our fourth and last night here and they FINALLY came for housekeeping. We had been messaging and calling them days before this. There are stash closets for extra towels/toiletries (if they're even stocked) and we found out the towels we had been using were actually bath mats... It had been raining almost our entire stay so imagine wanting to come back to a clean room with fresh towels to dry off but having to use hand towels and unknowingly bath mats instead. Would only recommend if things like this don't bug you but there's so many other boutique hotels in this area this was a one and done deal. read more

I have stayed at this Moxy a few times... The number one thing it has going for itself is the location. I love staying in this area as it is only a few minutes walk to Chinatown, Little Italy, Nolita, and the main shopping in Soho. This Moxy is always booked to capacity. Every time that I have stayed here, I was getting the last room available. Both times I was not impressed especially compared to the Moxy: Williamsburg. It's like your typical Moxy with a beautiful ambiance and vibe in the lobby area. They have a rooftop club/bar that is very expensive, selective about who goes up there and the bouncer is very rude. It's great for its location but that's it. read more

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, the DLX King room was ridiculously small barely any room to walk around the bed to get to the bathroom. No where to hang your clothes, no drawers, You open the door to the room and it barely missed hitting the sink. Once you turn off the master light switch there is no switch to turn on the toilet room light or the bedside reading lights. I don't recommend this hotel read more
