The location was perfect! It was so convenient to walk around and see some sights while going back and forth to the hotel. The room was clean and there was enough space. I appreciated that we had both a fridge and a microwave. We didn't really get a great view from our room but it is what it is, I did love how big the windows were though. Everyone was accommodating and helpful, except for the one male worker at the front desk. He checked us in late at night and he was giving some sass, while we were lugging all our stuff and two young kids. We also got lucky catching him again when we picked up our stuff to leave (after check out) and he seemed annoyed that I asked him for help since our ride was already waiting for us. It's a shame because we had a great stay, other than our encounters with him. I get it, it was Christmas week, but I was just surprised by his demeanor. I'd still stay there again for the location though. Hopefully it will be better next time! read more

Very cute hotel. Our stay for one night wasn't so bad. Everything was nearby so walking around downtown NY was doable. The elevator was down when I tried to go back for a night cap at their bar, but instead of waiting my husband and I went elsewhere to watch the dodgers game before hitting the sheets. This hotel is in the Financial District. It's within walking distance to the World Trade Center Memorial. There are a few hotels near by, so there are some chain restaurants and stores around the corner. I stayed here for a few nights with my sister. It was cozy. The rooms were just the right size. Everything was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bar that is really cute inside of the hotel. The only con is that the Financial District is kind of far away from things that we wanted to see, but NYC is huge. I guess no one location is perfect. read more

I did not stay here but I visited my friend who was. His room was very simple and small. His bathroom was pretty big for a small room. We then all hung out at the lounge which was decorated very well. Very pretty area with plenty of seating options. We sat near a fish tank that was on a tv screen. Felt very cozy too. We all ordered drinks. My friends mocktail he said he enjoyed and than the rest of us who had cocktails all felt they were too strong. I had an espresso martini and could not even drink half of it. Way too strong. This hotel is located like in an ally way sort of but, it is very close to the oculus and other stores/ landmarks in the area. read more

Review is just for the bar area, we went here for a couple post dinner after work gatherings. It's nicely situated away from the hustle and bustle below, and you're able to actually sit and chat (unless a live band is playing of course). The inside has lots of options for seating, some of the chairs are more fashion over function which is an annoying choice but I get it. The drinks are great, a couple of us ordered grilled cheese and it was delicious! The service is a bit tough because it seemed like one bartender taking care of the whole area, so when we asked for waters we didn't get any for about 40 minutes, but I saw the staff constantly working so it was just a staffing issue. They have an outdoor space but I think it closes pretty early around 10, and the indoor space sometimes has a live band - when they did they played on a Thursday night around 10pm for about 30 minutes and it was nice. read more

Do NOT waste your money staying at this hotel when there are others in NYC that are comparable in price. However, if your idea of a good time is waiting for an elevator for 30 minutes every time, then this is the place for you. Management watched as almost 25 people were crowding in the lobby trying to get on an elevator, and did nothing about the fact that they closed 2/4 of them and just watched as everyone Hunger Gamed themselves to try to get on. The front desk is also unaccommodating and dismissive, and it's just not worth staying at a place like this when there are so many other options out there. read more

I've had previous good experiences here, but when a winter storm across the entire country forced me to cancel my reservation the day before arrival management was extremely unhelpful and refused to show any level of understanding around the extenuating circumstances that resulted in my cancellation. Upon following reception's instructions to follow up with my booking agency and await a response I received the following from the manager: "We received notice from the agency requesting to cancel your reservation 'due to bad weather'. Due to the time difference and the notice being sent via the Booking.com portal, we received their request after your planned arrival day. By this time, your reservation had been cancelled as a No-Show. This could have been avoided if you, the Agency, or Booking.com had telephoned the hotel directly in a timelier manner" This is particularly rude as I started by contacting the hotel directly the day before, but could not be transferred beyond reception, as their own phone records would show. I understand not being able to help due to the nature of the booking, but Management's handling on the situation was particularly poor. read more

This hotel was so nice to stay at. Not too far from Time square but far enough to still be able to get there in 20 mins or so. I love the drinks they offer at the bar . Full disclaimer - I didn't stay at this hotel; my chum and I came here for lunch this past Friday after we both separately noticed this place as a potential spot (which I'm mostly impressed by because there is a ton of construction going on by the entrance and it's easy to walk right by in the chaos - go us). The random signage easily and successfully guided us to the 6th floor where the bar/restaurant was. If we're being honest, this definitely felt more straight-up hotel lounge than anything else - it was basically a collection of odd, edgy chairs placed around odd, edgy tables. I'm also reasonably certain that we were the only non-guests in the room. It felt very travel business class-y in there. The bartender was an absolute delight, a pile of Gen X quirk who immediately recognized an elder Millennial pile of quirk. Very pleasant to deal with, and honest in her appraisal of the menu and recommendations, specifically highlighting a grilled cheese sandwich (I think $18ish). That actually sounded pretty tasty so I took her up on that one, and it didn't disappoint. I don't think any of the ingredients were insanely high-end/earth-shattering, but they really didn't need to be. Presumably it was cooked on a panini press, and it came with a side of tomato sauce for dipping purposes (stunningly identified on the menu as tomato dip). I liked that it was thick but not chunky - good luck nailing that combo - and the sandwich hit the spot. I'm always a little leery of a cocktail menu with a tourist theme - and it doesn't get much more touristy than naming your five main cocktails after a specific NYC borough - but I ultimately opted for the Berry Berry Staten Island Ferry ($16). It was fine; my biggest issue with it was that it wasn't the best pairing with the sandwich, but that's ultimately on me. I leaned in its direction because I thought the sweeter, fruitier option would be refreshing on a summer day, which it was. I'd probably continue investigating the cocktail menu though if I came back for another adventure. This was definitely a change of pace from the typical Financial District lunch; I don't know too many people who go out of their way to have a meal at a 6th floor hotel lounge/bar. And honestly? For a boutique hotel that could pretty much charge whatever it wants to business travelers and/or tourists, the prices weren't insane (I think the grilled cheese could have been a little cheaper though). The winner of the day though was the bartender, who was probably just stopping at work on the way to a Reality Bites reboot audition. Solid recommend on that basis alone. read more

Small King room but comfortable. Modern, especially the bathroom. Front desk area small but staff was friendly. The breakfast was mainly a breakfast sandwich for almost $20 and they kept running out of bagels and eggs for them. Very odd for them to not have proper stock two days in a row. Location wise was great as it's near World Trade Center, a Starbucks, a Pub, two diners, and a couple of pizza places nearby (Joes is the best). The Rector subway station is right in front of the hotel making it super convenient. read more

When we arrived at Cloud One Hotel, we were greeted by a lovely and genuine receptionist who made check-in smooth. However, as soon as I entered my room, I noticed a strong damp/moldy smell. I tried opening the windows and spraying aftershave, but when we returned later, the smell was still there. I went to reception, and they offered me a new room, which I accepted. The first night in the new room, I found myself itching and scratching a lot. I didn't think much of it at first, but the next morning, after showering, I realized the hotel's shower gel and shampoo were very strong and caused a rash on my skin. I've never had a reaction to hotel toiletries before, so I stopped using them. Another issue was housekeeping. Rooms weren't cleaned until 4:00PM, which was frustrating since I was leaving early in the morning and returning in the afternoon to rest. I asked twice if my room could be cleaned earlier, around 11 AM or noon, but nothing changed. The cleaners was good but there was still dust in the rooms and sides wasn't wiped down. But the rest of the room was clean A few days into my stay, the itching got worse. I went to reception and asked if there could be bed bugs or dust mites. The staff said they would check with the manager, but I never heard back. When I followed up, I had to explain everything again to a different staff member. I showed them pictures of my skin, and they suggested I see a doctor or go to urgent care. I asked if they could at least change the bedding or inspect the room. They said it was likely the detergent their cleaning company uses for the sheets. To test this, I slept in my own clothes for three nights--and the itching stopped. This confirmed the issue was with the sheets. I asked to speak to the manager and explained my concerns. He immediately shut it down, saying, "We don't have bed bugs or mites." When I asked how the hotel planned to handle the situation, he said, "Do you want to leave the hotel or get a new room?" His attitude was cold, and he didn't seem interested in helping. When I questioned him further, he hit me with, "I've been in this industry for 30 years--longer than you've been alive." I couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional that was. I told him straight that his response was unnecessary. Another staff member tried to defend him, but I wasn't having it. I said I would wait to see how they handled things before deciding what to do next. They eventually upgraded me to a better room, which I appreciated, but after that, the atmosphere changed. Before this, the staff were friendly and welcoming. After the incident, they barely acknowledged me. It felt awkward, like I was being avoided. On the positive side, the hotel itself looks great, and the location is perfect--close to the 9/11 Memorial and other attractions. Some of the staff were lovely, but the way management handled my complaint ruined the experience. The view from the last upgrade was the best view and too. Was much bigger and much nicer. Thank you for the upgrade. Would I stay here again? No. If they worked on their customer service and management's attitude, it could be a great hotel! read more

It was disappointing to be given a room with 2 full size beds and not 2 queen beds as noted in our reservation through Hotels.com. When we inquired about this, the hotel worker stated that they were in fact queen size, but they were not. I ended up sleep with my daughter instead of my husband. Sadly you can't charge things like coffee to your room. The Breakfast was ok... Hard boiled eggs, egg white frittatas. The Brooklyn pastrami was good and there's toast an muffins. Scrambled eggs and sausage I would've expected for the sub par breakfast options. A pro is its right across the street from the 9/11 memorial. The view is ok as well. read more

Newly renovated and fabulous! Found myself in NYC for business again and after considering prices and availability within walking distance of my office I settled on this hotel, and so glad I did. I was greeted with a smile during check in and the woman helping me was extremely pleasant and very informative. Quick hotel history in a nutshell - it is a German owned company and new to the US. This hotel was previously a Marriott. It was purchased in early 2022 by this company and went by the name Hotel NY while under renovation and just changed over to their official new name The Cloud One in January 2023. The hotel lobby is very chic and clean. You need a room key to activate the elevator, a nice safety feature. The whole hotel is newly renovated so the rooms are spectacular - updated and VERY CLEAN!!! My room had a king size bed, very large desk, walk-in shower, and mini fridge. There is a safe in the closet along with iron and ironing board and the provide a full size hair dryer. No complementary travel size toiletries but rather large bottles of hand wash and body wash. Unfortunately no shampoo or conditioner so don't forget to bring your own. Overall very happy and being that cleanliness of a hotel is number one on my list when in NYC highly recommend this one and I would totally stay here again. read more

We booked and paid over $1200 for the Superior Double Room with Two Double Beds with City and River View, but as you can see from the photos we were given a totally different room from what was advertised to us. We were not notified that the particular room we booked was unavailable. The hotel is refusing to refund us nor are they offering any other solution to resolve the issue. i'm very unsatisfied with the quality of my stay. I paid $810 for a Two Bedroom, with the 9/11 and Hudson river view with the hopes of having the view that was promoted in the website. (Top to bottom window view). Unfortunately they gave me the room with two windows instead of the room they were promoting. I go down stairs and i try to figure out why my room isn't the room i reserved and the front of house tell me, "we're fully booked. and that there's two room styles for the price i bought." 1. I wasn't made aware that there is two room styles for the 9/11 and river view. There should be an obvious note that the room you're getting isnt what is being promoted and could be similar. I got this room with the hopes of having a luxury stay. I mean it was $810. I'm very disappointed. P.S Same thing happened to my friend who's traveling with me. Both Disappointed. read more

A great find in downtown NY. Everything is within walking distance; food, tourist attractions (9/11 memorial, oculus, one world trade center), subway and even malls. We arrived earlier than check in time but they were able to accommodate us and gave us a room right away. It was our anniversary and they gave us free room upgrades with magnificent views as well as free drinks at their bar. The rooms are clean and spacious, minimal and functional. They are currently having renovations but their bar/lounge area is a good place to hangout and meet up with friends. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family. read more

This is an ideal place to stay for a trip to the city. The entire hotel is new and fresh. We booked a room with the city and river view and it was an amazing corner room with floor to ceiling windows and a breathtaking view of the World Trade Center. They offer all the amenities (the toiletries are amazing), and we especially appreciated the Smart TV that logs you out automatically upon checkout, so you can indulge in streaming before bed. The area itself is great, with great restaurants and things to do easily accessible. Multiple subway lines are within blocks making getting around a breeze. The front desk staff were warm and inviting. Overall this has become my first choice for accommodation in the city. read more

​False advertising! They advertise the view of the Hudson River and 911 memorial with a king size bed. They gave me room 2709 for over $1300 plus tax for May 18-21. When I notice that my bed was a queen size bed about 60 in wide I went down to the lobby and I asked why my bed was not a king size bed. The reservation is informed me that the bed was a king size and that he could give me another room at the same price with double queen beds if that King was not big enough for my daughter and myself. I asked to see the room he took me up to room 1111 which head double beds but they were full size beds and there was no view of the Hudson River on the memorial, and again he told me it would be the same price which I didn't think was fair so I told him I would like to speak to the manager he said the manager would be in the next morning at 7:00 a.m. The next day was Friday I went down in the afternoon and spoke with the manager and I informed him that I was not happy with the size of my bed because it was not a king size bed he informed me that they only bought king size beds and that that bed in room 2709 was a king size bed so I asked him why was the bed so small because a queen size is 60 in and that bed that we had in that room is 60 in wide and he looked at me with an attitude and told me ma'am that is a king size bed so I asked about the full beds in the double room on the 11th floor that I saw and he said those were queen beds I said no sir those are full beads and he became like irritated with me and so I said okay then I guess I will have to talk to someone else about this and he said do that. So I'm writing this review I would like to receive a discount on my room because I didn't get what was advertised and then they tried to give me a second room that was much smaller the beds were much smaller but they wanted to charge me the same price. I can say the best part about the hotel was the lounge and JD and his staff was really helpful with helping us find places to eat and he was accommodating to my daughter for her birthday. That being said... this hotel has the most fabulous customer service, is in an incredibly convenient location, and has great views. The staff at the desk are very accommodating and gave me an extended check out when my work plans changed unexpectedly. I had to extend my trip and they helped me get a great room for the same rate. PS- traveling with a service dog and had zero issues! I highly recommend! read more

Front desk claims they can't hear the noise until they step outside which is a blatant lie as the noise is prominent throughout the area. Such a beautiful bar on the 6th floor! My friend is staying at the hotel and the bar is open to the public so I went today, was nice to get out of the rain. Great lounge space. Food was good, especially the kimchi grilled cheese. Our bartender was so fun. Eileen was welcoming, informative, fun to talk to, and a wizard mixologist. We tried many of the signature cocktails and she even made us a few based on our preferences. Definitely going back for date night. read more

Great Value. We stayed in a 27th floor room. The morning view of the adjacent building from our tall window reflected the World Trade Center! The room was not large, but it is modern and was adequate for our needs. And it has a working refrigerator! The wallpaper is starting to peel, and the rug was frayed, but this didn't detract. It was incredibly clean, the room and bathroom (it sparkled) were serviced daily, the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, and they checked our luggage at no charge when we arrived early the first day. Their computer system has a quirk; if you check in online, it generates an automatic invoice to your email that says you have canceled your reservation. But this has not actually happened (you can check at the front desk), and they are working on this glitch. It is very convenient to the #1 subway that took us to many of the places we wanted to visit. There are some nice relatively inexpensive restaurants nearby. We would definitely return when we visit NYC. It is not "luxury" but it is a very good value. read more

If you want to be close to everything downtown (financial district) then stay in this hotel. We stayed in a double corner room overlooking the Hudson and 9/11 Memorial. It was incredible. Very clean room and very friendly staff. It's two blocks from the memorial and walking distance to Battery Park if you're doing the Statue of Liberty tour. I would love to stay here again. The only recommendation I have for the hotel is to stock the refrigerators with drinks for convenience. read more

They woke us up 5:00am with speakers due to false alarm that we did not hear. No phones in the room, plus supposedly the shampoo and conditioner are combined- it's not, bring your own. read more
