I am utterly disappointed in this company despite buying a $12,000 Door five years ago and it taking three months past the delivery date. I was dumb enough to go to Ganahl and purchase more TM Cobb products. Despite ordering a fiberglass store the center of it was MDF. The middle of the door expanded and I can no longer open and close it. I originally filed for a warranty claim when I first got the door, but they took well over a year to come out and look at the door . After my house was involved in the fires and I put pressure on Ganahl to make sure they come out they claim that it has been too long since I installed the door and it's no longer under warranty If anybody is interested in getting involved in a class action lawsuit, please let me know read more

I purchased TM Cobb Dutch doors for over $3,500 each. In less than 2 years, the glass fogged and the bottom rubber seal failed. It took 9 months and over 10 follow-ups to get warranty service. During the repair, the tech damaged the finished trim, used staples, and left putty oozing out. I was told to hire a painter and fix it myself--it's "not their problem." This company is Horrible!! I ordered a Double Front door thru Lowe's which they gave to TM Cobb to make. Apparently TM Cobb requires a faxed Authorization along with the order from Lowes. So Lowe's was the first to drop the ball on my order, because they forgot to fax the Authorization to TM Cobb. So what does TM Cobb do??!! Nothing!!! They set on the order for 6 weeks and never once contacted Lowes to ask why they hadn't fax over the Authorization. Never once in 6 weeks, did they call Lowe's they let the order sit for 6 weeks!!! They had an order and they did nothing!! They let the order sit and Lowes or I had no clue the door had not been built until I called Lowes on Feb 17th to find out where my door was. Lowes had no clue that nothing had been done until they called TM Cobb and they said they never got the Authorization, so they did NOTHING!!!!!!!! FOR 6 WEEKS, THEY DID NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! TM COBB let the order sit, while I am without a working front door because some jerk decided to rob me on Dec 31, 2022, and my front door is all boarded up with cold air coming in all around the frame and my heating bill is going thru the roof because my house is so cold because the door is broken. This company is Horrible!! I went on their website to see if I could contact someone from Corporate but they do not even offer a contact us site they give you a phone number.. The door company I purchased them through tries to get them to replace. They refused. Who lost? Me! The door company had woodworker glue where delamming. My door man, Jay, ordered them. 3.5 years after the install and the doors are warping and falling apart! And their awesome 1-year warranty (my $20 toaster has a better warranty) is worthless. On delivery there was missing paint in multiple spots, as well as along the frame next to the outside of the glass. We requested touch up paint and TM Cobb sent the wrong color. TM Cobb has now decided to not respond to requests for service and resolution. It has been almost two months, and we still have no response or help. Stay away from this company, its a joke that they list a limited Warrenty on their website...they won't even acknowledge a claim through Lowes. Very disappointing experience. A Cobb 1525 Pantry Door was ordered through Ganahl, Anaheim. The glass in the door that was delivered looked nothing like the glass in the Cobb online catalogue, the Cobb brochure, or the Ganahl/Cobb software. I sent the door back hoping to receive one with the correct glass. Low and behold, sorry, that glass is no longer available! After receiving a $150 credit we accepted the door, although nowhere near as good looking as what we ordered. The door was re-delivered, the finish workmanship is lousy. Lots of caulking had oozed out from when the glass was seated, staple holes in beading that holds glass in place are not filled, even though the door was primed. Ganahl said this is normal. Cobb asked for photos (Aymara). Response to my second follow up call (Aymara) was give us a few more days. I made the third follow up call after two weeks and elevated to a manager (Lavonne). Response was "that is normal". When I said my Andersen doors were not of such poor quality I was told "we are not Andersen, you can cut the caulk out with a razor blade". We purchased a wood 4 light custom Dutch door from Ganalhl lumber. I was told this is one of the best doors you could get and it was not cheap. Nevertheless we have had it for a little over a year now and the door is literally falling apart right in front of our eyes. A fairly big crack developed right in the center bottom portion of the Dutch door so big you can put a flat head screw driver a 1/4" in. The solid wood portion is bowed along the crack that it is now pulling the top portion paneling inside and outside away from the door with big gaps. It doesn't shut right now and is all jacked up. This was a custom door due to the beveled glass we wanted. I personally think the wood and workmanship is bad. Moreover sense they use young wet wood for their solid pieces you get sap and bubbles of paint because when the sun hits it lets out gas or steam and bubbles the paint (Sun only hits it in fall and winter time for about four hours or so and it's recessed in 4 ft in from the front of the house) I had it professionally installed and used the best primer and outdoor paint I could find. Had it fixed multiple times, sanded, reprimed and crack filled. But nevertheless it just happens again. And again. Very disappointed in this product. Thinking they have been around for a hundred years or more I would expect the best and unfortunately we got the worst. I spoke to my guy at Ganahal Costa Mesa and he said one year warranty that's it, well we are two months late. Best he could do it a discount, how much? Bought a new front door with glass through Dixieline Escondido and got a great deal and door. Had trouble getting the paint to match for the trim. Called Dixieline and they in turn contacted TM Cobb. Robin the Sales Representative for Dixieline responded by sending the matching paint and I picked it up last week and it's a perfect match. Zero is what this company gets and not 1 star. Below standard workmanship and very bad service. Our vendor ordered our Dutch Door from TM Cobb and every glass pane has a defect- extra wood trim is around each pane when looking at the glass. I contacted TM Cobb to get a status update two days after our vendor notified them and shockingly their customer service rep was not helpful and rude. She placed me on hold for an extended period, refused to pass on a supervisor to speak with and refused to accommodate another service date for their technician to inspect their error and sub-standard finish. Shame on them for failing to do proper quality control & to rectify their mistake within the standard industry timeline of 24-48 hours. Well I had an issue with staining. One side of my door turned out beautiful, well the other side was a different story. I'd love be to be able to post of picture of the issue to get an opinion on whether or this was a "staining issue" or a "prep issue". I bought the door Sans Soucie Art Glass and they emailed their rep and this was his response: "He says this is a stain issue, not a wood issue. We've been working with TMCobb for nearly 7 years now, and I will tell you they will admit when their product is faulty, or if they did something wrong. We bought a T.M. Cobb 42" wide front door with 6 lights in 2010. The individual light seals seem to be failing because even after cleaning outside/inside of each individual light, there is a milky film that exists, to varying degrees, in each of the 6 lights. Their online warranty says the doors have a 1-year warranty and the glass has a 5-year warranty. The company from which the door was ordered has been bought up by Performance Doors in San Jose. The owner, Dave, kindly emailed his contact to see what can be done. I have fingers crossed that T.M. Cobb will fix the problem - especially after reading so many horrible reviews of their products. read more

We built a new home 13 years ago and used TM Cobb windows and doors. What a mistake. We have the insulated windows. Right away the window started to fail. What does that mean? I can no longer see through the glass because moisture is in between the glass. To replace all the glass panes is very expensive. I am now hoping to find a custom manufacturer that will replace only the windows leaving the frames in place. When I contacted TM Cobb for help they had nothing to offer us. Additionally the doors have warped so we don't get a good seal. I would highly recommend you not using this manufacturer. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Unfortunately, I, too, have experienced bad service from T.M. Cobb, through Ganahl Lumber. Our order was over $5,000. Not only did T.M. Cobb NOT take back doors that are not to spec, but I was told "You own it as soon as they drill the hole for the handle" so you're stuck with it. Also, they have a VERY BAD HABIT (according to Ganahl) of not including hardware - as was the case for our sidelight handles and screens. Not only did they forget to include the hardware we purchased, but they sent only the handles and pins without the screws. When we requested the screws, they only sent one set. It took another 1-1/2 weeks and three calls from Ganahl to get the second set of screws. Upon installation, one of the pins was the wrong size and our contractor had to hone it down to the proper length. Lesson learned - never again! read more

Wish I would have came here and read these reviews before I ordered my door. I ordered a Dutch door through Ganahl Lumber. The door itself isn't terrible, but definitely not good enough quality for the cost. The door came with a shelf, that is supposed to go on the outside of the door, only there is nowhere to put it. I looked on their website and their "Dutch doors" are really just their normal doors cut in half, and that shows. The top half doesn't fit flush with the bottom and jiggles around when you open and close the door. The door itself doesn't even close well. All in all, I wouldn't buy from them again. When you spend 1500 on a custom door, you expect it to be quality. I probably could have gotten similar quality from a door off the shelf at home depot. read more

I ordered five French doors and two side lights and one set of side lights and the French doors came completely with the glass scratched the glass is a mess. TM Cobb has done nothing about it they replaced the doors because the holes they drilled were the wrong size for the door knobs but they never replaced the sidelights and they're just horrible the customer service is horrible...I would never order from them again. Given the choice (they are a supplier) I would NOT work with this company again. We purchased a door from them (via a local company) and it took them 4 months and 3 tries to get us one that wasn't damaged. When we finally received one that was in good enough condition to hang, the workmanship was horrible. There was glue and calking all over that needed to be trimmed and sanded. We tried to work with them for compensation for the delay and condition, but they refused to return our calls. Granted, the local company we purchased it through wasn't much in assisting with the delays and damages, but at least they got back to us. NEVER USE TM COBB!! I ordered 10 interior stain grade doors for a custom home from TM Cobb through Dixieline lumber. I have been in the construction industry for 25 years and have never had a worse experience. On the scheduled delivery date I was notified that all the doors would be delayed by 10 days! If that wasn't bad enough, on the 9th day of the delay I get a call directly from Cobb saying they are having jamb material issues and they will try to get me the doors in another 10 days! 20 days late! When I raised my voice to the sales person who called telling her this delay was UNACCEPTABLE!! her manager called me back and instead of apologizing for the delay and telling me what he was going to do to help the situation, his first words to me were.... " I don't like the way you spoke to my sales rep"!! I will NEVER use this company again and I suggest you don't either. Ordered a pair of interior doors via Gahnals Lumber in Corona. 1) The order was delayed almost a month, 2) The workmanship was amateur with splinters and glue coming out of multiple crevices. Also had a few dings. 3) I ordered frosted glass panels and got some weird, blu-ish windows instead with some mysterious texture (similar as the effect you get when you dump oil into water .. just awful), 4) Their technician had to come over to my house to install a flush bolt since they failed to do this at their warehouse. The guy was so paranoid saying that he would get in trouble for prepping the nest and modifying the shield plate hole. He offered to do it off the clock and under the table. I said "no thanks". We ordered a front door from TM COBB on 6/1/16 to be delivered on 6/21/16. The door did not come in on 6/21, instead we got a call saying it wasn't going to be delivered until 7/25. On 7/24 we got a call saying the door wasn't going to be coming in until 8/30. Of course I wouldn't be here writing this review if the doors actually came in. I just got a call from TM Cobb saying they missed the truck and will probably be here friday (hopefully),.... ummm what does that mean. How do you say HOPEFULLY to a customer? My Experience: We've ordered our patio french doors with two side lights three months ago. We were told it would take three weeks from Dixieline lumber, but it was six weeks before they arrived. After setting the door, and not being able to get it adjusted right, I noticed that the q-lon weather stripping would not stay in the kerf. So I pulled it out and saw a screw coming up through the threshold into the frame, which told me that the top of the frame was smaller than the bottom of the frame. There was no way it would be able to adjusted correctly. So I called the Dixieline sales rep: they sent two customer service reps to check it out. After seeing it, they agreed with me: not only was the frame incorrect, the hardware was not drilled deep enough and would not work properly on the side light. Also, a screen frame was bent, and they did not send the screws for the hinges: I had to go out and buy those separately. TM Cobb's response was a week later: they sent out two of their customer service reps. These men would not listen to me when I showed them the issues. One of them took photos but disagreed and said the frame wasn't set properly (that I screwed up) and just needed to be reset. I am master carpenter with 44 years experience. Right. If they thought they could have fixed it, they should have. He asked what it would take to make me happy and I said that I wanted a new frame, but would keep the doors. He said he would bring that info back to his superiors and let me know. A week later, Dixieline calls and says they are going to send their two guys again, to check the door and make sure it was set properly with their lasers. On their second visit, they once again agreed with me (this time with lasers!) that the frame was BUILT WRONG. They once again told TM Cobb I wanted a new frame. I warned them that I have an upcoming surgery and needed the frame in time to set properly, because I will have a three month recovery. I am now set to receive the frame the day before my surgery, not enough time to complete the project. What was supposed to be a 4-week process max will now end up taking me SIX MONTHS. We were told it would be 6wks, delivery date 6/30. 6/30 Cobb wasn't done with the finishing yet and said it would be another 2wks. We said, "Oh no it won't!" Ganahl called them back to have it expedited and Cobb said 7/7. My husband went into Ganahl 7/7 to pick it up and got even worse news. Cobb hadn't cut it to make it a Dutch door! Cobb promised to fix it and have it to them by the 26th. Today's the 26th and still no door and no one at Cobb is returning Ganahl's phone calls. This door has held up my remodel for over a month now and I am beyond livid. After reading the other reviews here I shudder to think what it's going to look like if and when we ever get it. What will the finish look like? Will we get all the hardware? I should have just paid more and gotten a Jeldwen door. Please Ganahl and Lowes, stop doing business with this company!!! read more

Horrible... I ordered a jamb from them through Ganahl Lumber in Costa Mesa... Avoid both businesses. The jamb was meant to slide, accommodating different wall thicknesses. The jamb was build wrong and would not slide together. My issue was that one side of the jamb and the header had been slid together, wrapped and put into the box, but the two pieces that would not slide together were still wrapped and boxed with the others despite the manufacturing error, knowing full and well that the product was unusable and would be returned. I took the jamb back to Ganahl in Costa Mesa and told them that this was not a mistake. If a piece had been accidentally left out or if there was an incidental scratch then I could write it off as a mistake. However, this was a quality control AND manufacturing issue that they needed to be aware of and get straightened out. The salesman at Ganahl Costa Mesa ignored me and simply ordered another jamb. Two weeks later, I pick up the jamb, drive to the job, open the box and damn..... THE EXACT SAME JAMB.... They did not even bother trying. They sent a jamb that didn't work and was not new. It had the scratches from being unboxed and returned and it had drywall/paint debris stuck to it from the first time I tried to get it to fit. I took it back to Ganahl Costa Mesa for a refund, which was a pain in the ass as well. I came here, online, to try and get contact information for T M Cobb, but their website does not have any place to lodge a complaint. read more

Purchased some swing in windows for a job I am doing. The wood was very good quality, but the fit and finish were lacking. Lots of cleanups needed, caulking very messy, all over the panes and the needed patching of staple indents and not all the pieces fit nicely on the windows. Then we went to hang them and found they were 3/16 of an inch too wide. I hadn't put up swing in windows before so I kept thinking this is probably normal, any problems and excessive time are from my lack of experience in doing this, now I'm seeing these reviews and I don't feel so bad about it taking so long. I ran the windows through my table saw, and I will get them to fit, but I will look elsewhere for a supplier next time. read more

DON'T USE THEM...EVER! I ordered 2 doors through Branson and Sash in Covina. I had my own general contractor have the doors installed. The doors were ordered pre-hung. After the installation, I began having problems with the alignment of the doors causing them not to close properly. The switch plates and dead bolt plates were not lining up and one of the doors began sticking on the bottom. TM Cobbs policy is to work through the vendor (Branson and Sash in this case) to rectify the problem and file a service request through TM Cobb. Branson and Sash however, stopped doing business with TM Cobb because they indicated that TM Cobb does not return phone calls until repeated phone calls are made to them and their poor service. This left me in the middle because I now had to contact TM Cobb to see if they would come inspect the doors. After repeated calls and voicemails left for Pete Farias back in April he finally returned my call. He indicated I would have to work through the vendor. I called my contractor to have him made some adjustments to the doors to realign them so the plates would match up to close and it worked for awhile but then I was right back in the same situation. So, I called Pete again and left 3 voicemails for him explaining I didn't want to go through the several calls to get him to return my call from the very first call. He called me back after the 3rd call and when we spoke said that he got all my voicemails. He was not apologetic for not returning calls and said that he doesn't usually deal with the customer. I explained I could not deal with my vendor (Branson and Sash) because they no longer were doing business with TM Cobb for the very reason that I was experiencing...disregard for returning phone calls and poor service. I asked why he wasn't returning calls if he got my voicemails and he disregarded my question and asked me to write down the issue(s) I was having with my doors in an email and send it to him. I sent it to him and instead of him dealing with it, he forwarded my email to Marty Gibbons who's title says, "Manager". She first indicated in her first response that "she had seen the pictures I sent" and that it was an installation issue and to deal with the vendor and my contractor. I wrote back saying I never sent any pictures to her. She replied that she mixed up my email with another situation she was dealing with (notice both answers of it being the installation as the issue). I then asked if they had a company installer that could come look at the doors (since they had not inspected them to determine whether or not the installation was the issue or not) and even offered to pay for that inspection and no response. I had mentioned in one one of my emails to both Pete and to Marty if they have checked out the reviews here. Nothing that I have read on here surprises me. They don't care about their customers and they don't return phone calls in a timely manner. Very unprofessional and I definitely would suggest anyone considering ordering anything from this company to do so with caution because they are not a company that you want to be in business with should you have problems.
