This was my worst experience I have ever had at a yoga studio. My instructor was Celia Koshak unfortunately. The whole class time she was picking on my friend and I. Constantly yelling, saying rude comments towards us, passive aggressive and belittling us for no reason. I've never wanted a yoga class to end so fast in my life. What a shame that your studio has such a horrible, narcissist who micromanages the whole time and belittles the class. These 3 stars are for Johannah, Coco and Teila who always make taking classes here amazing. However, I took Celia's sculpt class today and felt that I really needed to share how uncomfortable she made me and I'm sure others feel. By the end of class, I could tell you the names of everyone who did not do a posture correctly because she was yelling at them the WHOLE time. I appreciate a hands-on teaching approach but to belittle and humiliate people publicly and then laugh about it is so wrong and not what yoga is about. There were zero modifications offered and some individuals were even shamed for wanting to get a quick drink of water, or for needing to drop to their knees during a plank/push ups. Everyone showed up and was working hard and did not deserve to feel embarrassed. I love sculpt and was really looking forward to this class. I was so disappointed in the way this instructor treated her students and want to warn people looking for a sculpt class to steer clear of Celia. read more

I took my first yoga class last week and decided to use ClassPass. My instructor was Celia and she provided the worst experience anyone could ever have. She made jokes and made remarks like "okay break you knee I dont care, you signed a waver". As an instructor you are there to support and encourage individuals, not to criticize and make a mockery out of them. I even explained that this was my first class so i could get support on correcting my form. She was beyond disrespectful and even others in the class noticed. This studio should look into their instructors further and make sure they have individuals that empower others to continue doing yoga not steer away from it. read more

M Power Yoga in itself is a great workout- I have been taking yoga and yoga sculpt for over 15 years and I really enjoy their workout structure. That being said I want to write a review about one of teachers who works at the Claremont and Rancho locations- Celia. I have taken her class twice now and both times she demonstrated a manic and disorganized class where one min she is screaming at you- and I mean literally screaming in your ear- and then next dancing around trying to be goofy and acting like her class is the best ever. She is clearly very insecure because she starts every class the same way- basically daring the students to challenge her and that she's such an expert etc etc- the only reason I stayed is because I wanted to continue working out but she is that kind of teacher who screams at you and puts you down and says it's for your benefit- the thing that is hilarious that she forgets this is still a yoga class- people want a good workout and yes they want to be pushed but also you come to yoga to clear your mind and work through things and it was impossible to do that with her shrill screaming throughout- It's a shame because I really love the class and locations but luckily one of the other instructors told me of other classes so that I can avoid taking Celia's class again- what I found odd was that the lady at the desk said that many other people have made the same comments as I felt- and that apparently people either love or hate her- if so many people are feeling uncomfortable by her- even if some people like it- is that not an issue for the other half of people who are turned off by her rude immature manner? I also wanted to get out of there asap so after the workout finished I quietly went to grab a spray bottle to wipe down my weights and mat- she came up to me and literally grabbed the bottle out of my hand and wouldn't let me wipe down the mat or weights- I have been to probably 300 plus yoga classes and never have I ever seen this type of controlling behavior- So many people have to leave early and are free to do so and I have never seen an instructor be so rude. MPower Yoga if you are going to keep Celia on you should have a disclaimer before classes that if you are into the whole degrading, put down kind of experience for yoga in which you won't actually be able to breathe or clear your mind or set an intention because you will be screamed at and disrespected throughout the entire workout then keep Celia on. I hope this review helps other yogis to avoid her class knowing what kind of teacher she really is. read more

I have been going to MPower for a little over 3 years now and it has been the most wonderful addition to my health and wellness journey. Not only am I physically stronger through the different classes I am able to take but mentally stronger as well. The instructors here really take time to get to know you and support you. This studio became a second home to me while I was living in Claremont, California! Johannah created a welcoming experience for everyone. This studio has the perfect combination of fitness and zen with some of the best teachers around! You can get your butt kicked in a climb class or go to a candle lit Vinyasa flow. I always walked out of that studio feeling so much better than when I walked in. I fell deeper into my practice by also participating in the Yoga Teacher Training. It was a beautiful in depth yogic experience. We learned so much and had a wonderful time too. Johannah did a wonderful job guiding and teaching the cohort. As well as a carefully curated bunch of guest teachers and speakers with various expertise. I felt like the learning experience was well rounded and gave me the knowledge to dive so much deeper into my practice. MPower is a gift to the Claremont community. I would like to start off by saying that my friend warned me about instructor Celia at MPower in Claremont. I did not take her warning seriously, so I'm hoping that you don't make the same that mistake I did. For reference, I took the class on May 21, 2025 at 7:30pm. I would advise that if you are a beginner, do NOT take this class! It would break my heart for you to believe this is what yoga is. She is very rigid and does not offer any modifcations whatsoever! Honestly, I do not recommend any person in their right mind to take this class, but If you do, please be aware that you will not be able to have agency over your body. Celia is narcissist who will micromanage and will tell jokes that no one thinks are funny. She opens the class talking about herself in such a arrogant way then makes snide comments about other people who don't meet her standards. You also required to respond to her or she will keep you in a pose until you do so. Yoga is supposed to be about coming as you are and opening the space to the community. There is not an ounce of community in that class because if Celia's dictatorship, but there is favoritism. I didn't know Hannah's name when class started, but I sure did by the end. It's a shame because it seems like Celia has knowledge of yoga and anatomy, but the class gets tarnised by her character. She needs to work on herself! read more

I cannot express my gratitude enough for this incredible studio. I came in last year insecure about my weight and was looking for a place to build my confidence and work on my physical and mental strength. This location and the Rancho studio have the best instructors who will push you to be the best version of yourself! I have frequently attended classes taught by Laura and Celia at the Claremont location and both instructors have motivated me to keep going in class and will not let me give up on myself, even when I want to! I have been into fitness almost my entire life. I love to hike, run, go to the gym, etc. I started yoga in my 40s and have tried several local studios. I fell in love with MPower after taking a Yoga Sculpt Class. Celia is my favorite instructor. Her classes make me feel like I'm taking a class that was choreographed by a professional. This yoga studio is beautifully set up and I loved the vibe of the studio. The two stars are for the studio itself and I would give zero stars to the instructor if I could. I did my first free class there, Hot MPower Fusion, and was really excited. To preface, I have done a couple of hot yoga classes before and know some of the moves. I am still a newbie, but that should be encouraged. That being said, I was very disappointed and felt very targeted during the class I took. The instructor, Celia Koshak, started the class with listing the rules of her class and making us repeat them back to her and sounded like a drill sergeant, which completely goes against the idea of zen and flow. She also said that yoga is not about the flow? I knew I was in for trouble when that was stated. Class started with stretches but then turned into her generally calling out the class for loosing balance or not being able to complete the moves. It felt like I was at boot camp, not a yoga class. She then proceeded to specifically call me out after she tried to pivot me and I could not do the move due to having bad knees. I recently dislocated and broke my knee, so I listen to my body and do not push my knees to the brink anymore. I said "Im sorry I have bad knees" to her and she proceeded to go on a tangent to the whole class about how everyone has bad knees and a bad back blah blah and how she doesn't want to hear anymore excuses. During this tangent, everyone was obviously looking at me and I felt extremely embarrassed. Her stating that everyone has bad knees and backs is simply not true and most individuals that do go to yoga to seek relief from their joint pain. Then, she proceeds to say how we aren't being good students and need to listen to her or she is going to keep calling us out and we are going to be on her "bad list". I am a middle school teacher and would never ever speak to my students or anyone in that way. Her tone was extremely rude and I felt pressured to do moves that my body cannot do, which is not the point of yoga. There should always be room for modifications and I should not feel intense pressure to complete moves I physically cannot. I felt specially targeted throughout class with her calling only me out, loudly and in front of the whole class for little things that did not matter. I genuinely felt embarrassed and should not feel that during any workout class, especially a late night yoga class. The mantras she kept repeating, were not encouraging and just felt like I was being drilled at. She kept repeating that our class "needs to go to yoga more" and how she was disappointed in us. She also kept repeating how life is extremely hard and how nothing is easy, which can be encouraging in another type of workout class, but in the aggressive tone she was using, it was not at all. Considering the relaxing vibe of the studio itself, with candles set up and the lights dimmed, I am sure this yoga studio is not aiming for that kind of attitude from their instructors. There is another review of this same instructor calling someone out multiple times during their class, this seems to not be a one time event. Do not take a class with this instructor if you want to feel welcomed and enjoy your time. I wanted to make this my yoga studio considering it is close to home, but this instructor made me never want to come back. Maybe in the future, I will take another class here but definitely with a different instructor. read more

I took a MPower 1 class with Celia. Look I never leave reviews but this instructor was very mean. This was my first yoga class ever and as a bigger girl that has been anxious about going to fitness classes this was a nightmare. I was so excited to try yoga and since this was beginner class I had high hopes to get to understand yoga and the concepts but it was far from inclusive. The instructor was very mean, she singled me out for being in a wrong position to the whole class then when I did a modification to a move she said that it was being lazy and that I was being a rebel. She was very mean and I really wanted to leave the class, she made me feel really uncomfortable. I hope she learns that her actions are inappropriate. It's unnecessary to be mean and judgmental of people trying to learn while taking her class, especially being a beginners. read more

I have never made a review but the way instructor Celia K spoke to me I felt it was needed. My friend and I came in 1-2 min before class to find an overcapacity room with no space for us and the three other people waiting to be sat, some who had come in after me. When we entered, she immediately singled me out, and in front of everyone, raised her voice and said that I was at fault for coming in late. Everyone's vibe was off from her misplacing her anger on me and instead of coming up with a solution, she started ranting instead. When I found an open spot, I discreetly let my friend know when she immediately raised her voice to tell me not to speak when shes speaking. Then she said that I was making everyone here feel uncomfortable (me? hm.) because now they have to move around because I'm late. Mind you there are about four other people also waiting to be sat and the room was over capacity before we got there. And we were there before class started. When i suggested for my friend and I to give up our spots for the other people who came in after us, she rudely replied "ok bye" in a snarky tone like she was glad we were finally leaving. I left feeling bullied and verbally attacked and was shocked from how aggressive she spoke to me when I was trying to help her by giving up my spot that I had signed up for hours before. I understand there is a late policy but this situation was not about timing. The room was over its maximum capacity before we arrived regardless if we had come earlier. Celia seems like she is unstable to work in a job like this, where people come to feel better and more at peace, but by literally all of the one star reviews of this place, it seems she doesn't know how to do that. Regardless if anyone was late, no one deserves to be spoken to in a belittling manner that way. She seemed very insecure and unable to take accountability for her own actions so she blamed a random customer coming to support her session bc she didn't know how to handle the situation herself. With all this built up anger i dont know why she chose a yoga instructor as a profession, she clearly needs the classes and should not be teaching them. I really hope Celia gets the help she needs and doesnt proceed working at this location. read more

Nice clean work out space. I have taken almost every class with most of their instructors. My favorite instructor is Jasneet, she is so polite and respectful, also has extensive background with yoga. I feel a peace of mind just listening to her voice. The reason why I gave it 3 stars was because of this one instructor Celia Koshak. She is probably THE WORSE fitness trainer I have ever experienced. Throughout the whole class, she definitely had all her eyes on me lmao- She dramatically called me out during her class for being "on the wrong side" as her when we were doing high knees. I mean how much more stupid can she get. Is she even educated? Definitely a NO GO if you don't want to be in a class that' taught by an ignorant teacher with no manners. Also, looks like this is not the only place Celia ruins with her disrespect. She also got a lot of complains working at US bank for her worse than ever customer service skills. It's just hilarious... So far I've taken Versa Climber with Nic & Laura, and I've taken the Candlelight Mpower 1 with Brittany a few times. Each teacher has their own music style/ teaching flow which is cool. I like to try diff teachers and see who I connect with most. I keep coming back for the Sunday night class, and hopefully I'll get to try other teachers soon too read more
