I wouldn't recommend this place anyone. They are extremely unprofessional. While at my home the repairman, Mr. Bill, made extremely inappropriate comments about ice. He laughed and joked about reporting someone to ice and was influencing them to file an anonymous ice report, he stated that's what he would do. This made me extremely uncomfortable and nervous I told him to leave my home. All he had to say was "I'm sorry for hurting your feelings." When reporting to management they tried to make excuses for his egregious remarks instead of apologizing. Stay away! read more

Their website states "We stand behind our workmanship with a 1-year Parts and Labor warranty for residential services and a 30-day Parts and Labor Promise for commercial services. If your service was not done right, we promise to make it right." Paid over $700 for service to our refrigerator. Problem has surfaced again with the exact same issues. Called to have them come back out and was told it will be another $129 fee for a diagnostic fee I paid the first time. Asked why if there is a 1 year warranty and was told it is actually only 90 days. Also was told if they did the repair that would be applied to the bill which it never was the first time out. Had Dominick in to repair our dishwasher. To be honest, we were tentative at first considering the unfavorable reviews of Mr. Appliance posted on Yelp and we let it show by questioning everything and demanding a written receipt and repair warranty before we would make payment. Well, Dominick not only allayed our concerns but instilled confidence in us that Dominick not only knew what he was doing, but had our best interests in mind with his diagnosis and repair approaches. Dominick was personable, courteous, knowledgeable and most importantly, patient. We were fortunate to have him and so is Mr. Appliance. Mr. Appliance came out to diagnose the issues for my refrigerator. The damper motor was failing. They charged me $119 to diagnose and wanted to charge me an additional $400 to fix it. The cost of the motor was $114. They charge $255 for labor regardless of time spent. The part took 5 seconds to change out. I didn't pay them to do it, my husband changed it out. Word of advice to paying customers -Research the issue before paying a ridiculous fee to this company. Not only that but once they gave me to price to fix and I stated I wasn't going to pay that, they asked how much I would pay for them to fix it? Why not give me the lowest price from the start? Bad business IMO. I believe they expect people to not ask questions; preying on the weak. I'm so disgusted. read more

I called to request service; the woman who answered the call was rude and unpleasant to speak to. She spoke over me and aggressively interrupted me with a sharp "wait" after asking me the question. I was not talking fast; I was simply explaining my trouble with my appliance. After hearing her tone I felt it best not to go with this company and ended the call. Poor customer service. read more

Some of the reviews here are pretty bad. I can certainly agree with the complaints that people post, like botched schedules, mis-information, and so on. The bad reviews i read are all dated recently, which may be a matter of problems that businesses have had with personnel based on COVID issues. Regardless, i've hired Mr. Appliance two times over several years, including just a week ago, and the service has been good both times. The tech has arrived as scheduled, the pre and post messages via text and e-mail have been timely and accurate, and the work was done reliably. So, take reviews for what they seem to be worth. Had a dryer I needed to be fixed. They came out and diagnosed the issue as the timer. The initial charge was $119 for the diagnostic and the final price to fix the dryer was $379. It sounded high so I looked up the part and it was $65 on Amazon which I hand in hand the next day. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace the timer which only took 10 minutes. I then called the company and asked for an explanation as to why the price was so high; no response from the representative I talked too. I canceled the follow up appointment and repaired it myself . Say away from this company - they prey on people that aren't semi-handy! Despicable - shame on you Mr. Appliance! read more

The other yelp ratings for this company were all one-star, so I was hesitant to go with them. But, frankly, they were the only outfit that would agree to work on my Samsung dishwasher. So I kind of had no choice. But I have nothing but good things to say about the company and the technician, Jamell, who fixed my dishwasher. Once they got the part, and once we were able to schedule their return to install it, everything went smoothly and the repair took less than ten minutes. I never take the time to write reviews, but I had too !! Very debatable If I would EVER use again !!! Mr appliance was contracted to do some free warranty work through my appliance manufacture. The tech was very late, for the initial inspection and didn't seem to really care. I asked a few questions and he simply shrugged, and said I need to send photos to the manufacture if they want to replace your unit or not. He said I would hear back in a few days, but a week an half went by with no communication from mr appliance. Finally heard back, set up an appointment for them to come out and they never showed up, followed by a call from the owner (who was very nice) an asked if he can come another day since his tech was running behind. We set up another Appointment, and the tech came and replaced the unit with no problem. And that's when the problems began. I get a call from there office, Saying there tech made a mistake and didn't write down the new serial number of the replacement and requested I send them a copy of it. I told them, no problem at all and by the way the tech left and didn't provide any receipts, I need one for my records. I am told, if I simply provided an email I should have gotten it. I don't know what to tell you, the rep said. I told him I didn't get a copy could he check. He then tells me, if we are contracted for warranty work they do not provide an receipts and demanded the new serial number. I am then transferred to the owner where I ask for a receipt an he goes crazy. Very rude, told me if I want a receipt I need to call the manufacture not him. He refused to send me a copy of the work his company did. Told me he would do me a favor and ask his rep if he can send me a copy, I told him please ask him an he said no. I will not do that !! The owner started yelling at me on the phone, that I better send him the new serial number and I am not getting a receipt. I hung up on him an he calls me back an said he will make an exception an send one. I still never got it !!! The same Owner owns Ellicott city and Frederick plus a few others !! MAKE SURE TO GET A COPY !!!! I would not trust this company. Who doesn't provide a receipt for the work they have done. My neighbor had the same issue getting them honor there work they did. 'm in the industry of fixing things and retired business owner so I know how all of this goes. When there's a callback, certain companies will reschedule you as many times as they can because there are "emergency's" that come up I.e. money to be made. This is that type of company that will charge you however much, tell you they warranty their work, and then never show up when it breaks 2 weeks later with the same exact issue. They know they won't make any money so where's the priority, right? Was told we would be first on the schedule today. We've been rescheduled twice now. This is the second time. Needless to say that when I called, the tech was stuck on a call earlier; I had to call again 3 hours later to find out he wasn't coming. Good lie about us being first; maybe you should record and listen to those calls you place. ONLY reason I found out they weren't going to come is because I had to call to find out. Nobody reached out to us to let us know the tech wasn't coming. Guess we should just blow 3 days away waiting on someone... Company isn't reliable; they don't look out for their customers. They look out for their profit. Typical commission based company. $240 was paid for a repair that lasted 2 weeks, and now we're jumping through hoops trying to get their "techs" back out here to fix their bandaid repair. One of the few "essential" companies out there that doesn't give a sh*t about anything other than making money! This company sucks!!! Will never make it a point to call this company again. read more

This company is a joke. I requested electric oven installation in my kitchen. They schedule my appointment; I was waiting for a week. The day before the installation they sent me a text message with the technician's photo. I took a day off waiting for the technician, but in the morning of that day a girl called me telling me that they do not do such kind of job. This is absolutely ridiculous; I did not believe they can do this. So, if you need any job done by this company think twice, they can change day, time or price as they wish. Possible Fraud Alert: Complete waste of time and money! I called about broken dishwasher and microwave and set up the service visit. He arrived, tore the dishwasher apart and found the broken part - the controller board. He told me cost of the replacement part could run high. He looked it up on his tablet PC, but said he couldn't find the part, so he couldn't give me a price. He said he would charge me the $119 for the house call and call me next day with the price of the part and how long to order. He never called. I called them back a few days later. They said they would follow up by next day - no reply. I called them back several more times over the next few weeks, each time being told I would receive a call back. I have yet to receive a single reply - this is now over 3 weeks. Additionally, the repairman left the dishwasher in pieces and took my broken controller with him, leaving me with no way to get another repairman to evaluate it. We ended up having to buy a new dishwasher. Their actions, combined with their complete disregard of our follow-up attempts, border on fraud. read more
