Luther (trainee) came along with Paul to fix the issue. They took out the whole dryer to diagnose the issue and turned out the pulley only had to be replaced. Paul told me that the other parts did not need to be replaced after me wanting to replace it. So he saved me money as well. Highly recommend them! read more

Recently had a fridge repair (LG) & had to call Three Times after leaving Two voice mails to speak w/someone, only to find out "we don't repair LG fridges, unless it's an ice maker related issue". Mike's was great! Our 5 year old kitchenaid oven stopped working and because Thanksgiving is coming soon, we called two different repair services with appointments two weeks out. Mike's and another company. The other company, from whom we bought the oven, wanted us to pay a deposit for a control panel and another part which was ok, but they also wanted to charge a "restocking" fee if the parts weren't used which would total about $160. There was also a significant diagnostic and service fee no matter what. We decided to go with Mike's, who found the problem was a $37 fuse and the total repair cost, including part, was just under $200. So for the price of the other companies restocking fee (which we would have had to pay), we had the oven repaired. Mike's isn't just cheaper, they're better. read more

Contacted Mike's Appliance Repair and was able to schedule a service appointment for our GE Monogram range vent hood (which stopped working one day) and the lighter on our GE Monogram gas range (with the lighter being continuing to spark after burners were lit). Expectations were set including wearing of masks (COVID-19 concerns), the service charge for diagnostics, the window for service technician arrival, and a call from our service technician when he was on the way. Our assigned service technician, Paul, called and arrived as expected. Paul was courteous and respectful, didn't mind our dogs, and successfully resolved our issues. To make a long story short they sent someone out knowing the manufacturer didn't make parts any more for my appliance and charged a fee. RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This repair shop was recommended by my neighbours. I called and the first available appointment was in 2 weeks only. I decided to book and wait for them to come over since this service was highly recommended. On the day of the appointment I called to confirm - yes, all great, confirmed. But no one showed up. When it was pass the window time, I called again. Ooops, they didn't have my correct phone number, called someone else, or even came to someone else, but not me. And ooops again, the technician's day is over, it's only 3 pm, but he is already finished for the day. I understand, shit happens, but whoever was on the phone booking and answering calls was extremely rude! When I expressed my dissatisfaction with me being screwed and my appointment missed, he starting yelling at me, literally yelling, "Stop Stop Stop!!!". When we tried to re-book and I asked for free first visit to estimate the repair or at least half-price visit (hey, they screwed up, not me) he was speaking in the same rude manner: 'No, I am booked 3 weeks ahead of time". He spoke as if I f..cked him up, as if I owe something to him. The way this person speaks makes customers feel like they owe him something. When I booked the appointment, the person spoke in such a rude manner, that I wanted to drop off the call. I wish I did that instead of booking them and wasting my time. read more

The technician was prompt, called before he came to remind us he was on his way and was on time. He was also very friendly. My major complaint is that while he was there we asked him to take a look at our washer that was leaking. He opened the lid, said there was nothing wrong other than a pillow clogging it. My wife removed the pillow and it took him less than 5 minutes to life the lid and tell my wife what was wrong. He charged us $24 to do this which we didn't find out until we got the invoice. I understand that people need to get paid for their time and knowledge, but honestly to nickle and dime, someone that is already paying and not telling them about the charge until afterwards is bad taste in my book. We were very surprised when our 3 year old Speed Queen (SQ) washer developed a problem and we reached out--for the first time--to Mike Appliance Repair in Frederick MD for a warranty service call. After sharing the problem details, Mike checked with SQ and determined that the problem was covered by a SQ service bulletin and arranged to have several replacement parts (one of which was back ordered) shipped to him prior to the initial service call. Dominic just. left my mother's house; we called for repair of a dryer that wasn't drying the laundry. Dom arrived exactly on time as promised and was super professional and friendly. He explained everything he was going to do and took the time to answer our questions. The problem was much simpler than we were expecting and he finished in about 30 minutes. Within 5 minutes he had the fix underway and put the new belt on. He mentioned some things that I need to do down the road and told me how to do them myself to save money. They came out and fixed my leaky dishwasher in July and did a great job (5 stars). Because of that, I called them today because my freezer ice maker stopped working. They told me they don't work on built-in fridge/freezers because it's "too difficult" to repair sub-zero style units. Disappointed they won't fix the problem (one star).
