I've hired Mr Bartender twice now for two separate parties. The first time was fine - the bartenders arrived on time and were nice enough, but put out a tip jar when I asked them not to, then pressured me into a larger tip at the end saying they didn't make "hardly anything" on tips. But, the drinks were good, and Anthony was super helpful - always answered the phone and was really lovely. The second time I hired them, the bartender(s) stole a bottle of liquor at the end, and a few packs of red bull. So unprofessional. I called to let Anthony know and he was fine - I didn't feel like he really cared that much, and I got a half-hearted apology. All in all, they were fine - did the trick. The mixed drinks were good, and like I said, Anthony was helpful. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them, though, as I found his bartenders to be unprofessional both times I used them. read more

Looking for a WOW factor for my husband's 50th bday party. I got blown off my feet. I don't think I will ever have a party without using Mr. Bartender. We use to call or sit down and get every thing in writing but now we use vendors we find on-line and never see in person so with all the e-mailing something can get missed. I need to confirm and clarify a lot. Owner, Antony must have the patience of Job. We e-mailed and talked a lot. He addressed all my concerns. The flexibility in his cocktail library is ridiculous. I gave a list of likes and dislikes, even stated I didn't want red staining ingredients like strawberry and raspberry, so he went outside his library and crafted the most tasteful cocktails I've ever had and the most eye appealing. I can't say enough about his calm and funny demeanor. Gabriel, my bartender, arrived set up and was on point all night. He didn't even want a chair to sit in. He was that serious about being professional although this party was given in my home. After dealing with Anthony and meeting Gabriel I knew I had a great vendor. Overall, we are quite happy with the service Anthony and his crew provided for our wedding. He came to our house several months before the wedding to offer some friends and us a tasting, to help us select craft cocktails for the wedding. This was lots of fun and really helped us narrow down the field. At the wedding reception, the presentation was stylish, and all of our guests loved the drinks, which featured some great ingredients (fresh rosemary, thyme, thai chilis, passion fruit, etc.). Anthony was also willing to work with some of our unusual demands, including muddling limes for the caipirinhas, which we appreciated. We really like the fact that Anthony was willing to let us purchase our own alcohol and some other supplies (soda, napkins, juice, ice, etc.). This kept costs down and allowed us to keep leftovers. Not as a knock on Anthony, but hopefully just as a helpful bit of feedback, I'll give a bit of detail about how the estimates matched up with the actual consumption: Anthony told us that "nobody drinks wine at weddings"; instead they drink cocktails, if available. We told him that our families drink a lot of wine, but he stood his ground, and recommended 14 bottles (we had 130 guests, about 120 of drinking age). We ended up buying 25 bottles, and still ran out of wine during dinner. We also ran out of beer by the end of the night. It was the cocktails that ended up being oversupplied, interestingly. Out of 36 bottles of liquor that I provided, we had at least 16 unopened bottles left over at the end of the night, meaning I spent more than $350 more than necessary. Not the worst problem to have, since we got to keep it all, but worth noting. The only thing I didn't like was that several times Anthony insulted our choice of spirit for the father-of-the-bride's toast. He is from Hungary, so we provided everybody with a shot of pálinka (fruit brandy). This is a special drink for those who lived in Communist-era Hungary, and the toast was emotional. Never a good idea to insult the customer's selection! That minor complaint aside, I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony and his crew for anyone planning a wedding or other event. read more

It was a 70s disco themed party, and we picked appropriate names for all of the drinks. When our bartender Chris arrived (early) for the party, he had the menu printed and framed to be displayed on the bar. He brought in all of his equipment, had the bar assembled, had all of the garnishes prepped and ready to serve well before the time we had requested the bar be open to our guests.
