Considering all the years I've been in Grand Rapids, it's kind of surprising I've never eaten here. Decided to try Mr. Burger today for lunch. We've had continuous snowy weather in Grand Rapids for the past several weeks. Most of the places I eat at do a decent job with their parking lot. Not Mr. Burger. Parking lot was a complete mess. Once inside, we quickly looked at the menu and ordered our burgers. I added onion rings. The burgers were pretty basic-not a lot of flavor. By dousing them with catsup, they tasted a bit better. Onion rings were quite good however. Restaurant was comfortable and the staff was quite nice. Pricing for what we got was pretty similar to fast food pricing - reasonable in today's market. Now I can tell my friends who were incredulous I haven't been here that I finally went. Decent, not memorable. read more

Every town needs a Mr Burger. I would characterize this place as a local hidden gem. I found these guys on Yelp, it's a local business that's been here for decades. They have their own specialties and dishes here, and overall I was really pleased. These are the types of places I love to discover when traveling and exploring. 1 less star due to i consistency. First visit was a well made burger. 2nd visit was hastily put together and lacked condiments. But no big deal - I would still go back. They have some awesome pies to choose from too. OMG - like an old style cafeteria back in the days - a pie station. The fish sandwich was really good too. The fries and onion rings were great. As you can see from my pictures I had to try an assortment, and there were just so many different and appealing things to try. I would make this a weekly visit if I lived in the area. Shockingly I have lived in Grand Rapids for 6 years and this is the first time trying Mr. Burger. My coworker and I came here for lunch and it was honestly just what I expected it to be. It's classic, still feels like it's living in the 80s but it's charming and works. If you are unaware (like I was walking in here), the line is at the far east side of the building, you grab a tray, order with the guy at the counter, then move slightly down to collect your food - only having to wait a few minutes, if that. Then move down the line to pay at the cash register. If you order a breakfast or something that's not a burger, I think they call out your number to come pick up your food at the counter when it's ready. Quite cheap prices for today's economy, and is a good solid burger and fries. I had the olive burger deluxe combo which came with fries and a drink. It was pretty tasty. I went to this location 11/24/25 around 3:20 pm. When I entered there was a guy on a stool spraying something out of a bottle on the tile above the grill. There was a guy to the left of him cooking burgers and below him was hash brown potatoes and bacon. He kept spraying and wiping the tile. Some got on his arm he wiped it with the towel it also dripped on the prep board he wiped it with the same towel. He stopped for a couple minutes and went back and did it again. If ur going to clean don't do it over food being prepared and spraying chemical? Out of bottle. Where was the manager or was he it? I left and will not go back!!!! read more

This location and menu are super reliable and friendly. I've only ordered breakfast here (regardless of the time of day) and am always satisfied. The team works together well and gets hot food out to me in mere minutes. More than enough booths to dine alone or with a group. read more

Mr. Burger is a family favorite! These are perfectly cooked fries and kid approved burgers. Just a good, classic burger, nothing fancy. If you're in the mood for a burger this is a great option. Post made during Covid-19 Mr. Burger always makes the family happy when it was a hard day at the office... and by office I mean home. We ordered 3 Mr. Burger combos. Combos come with a drink and fries. If you want a shake instead of a soft drink it's only 1.00 more! For desert we ordered 2 apple pie slices and 1 chocolate cream pie slice. Their pies are my favorite. Always so crisp and fresh tasting! Drive through moved quickly even though the line was long. The staff was cautious wearing gloves and masks. Staff forgot one order of fries but we were not too worried because mistakes happen. Next time I'll simply double check the order before I get it. ;) Grateful for your services in these times. If you want the feel of hometown and hometown cooking, you will love going to Mr Burger. We went for breakfast. Pancakes were especially yummy. Service was great. When I ordered I said bacon then change my mind and asked for sausage. Well, I got bacon, which was really no biggie so I didn't say anything. The guy comes and brings me sausage, said I should have gotten that. That was really nice I thought. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

A classic burger joint. I always remember this place by their amazing broccoli & cheese soup and the olive burgers. I always try to stop at this location for those two things. I haven't been inside for a sit down meal; if I did I was most likely to young to remember. But this place is a lot like a Friendly's, Big Boy or Denny's. They do have a small breakfast and desert menu, otherwise it is mostly sandwiches, ie: burgers, fish sandwich, grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, etc. **Overall nothing bad about the place other than I thought they were out of business, but I guess I was wrong. Classic diner setting and cheap food with a punch of flavor! The set up is that you grab a tray at the start, order your food with the cooks and wait for the food to be prepared (which is quick might I add) while you go down the line you are shown several options for delicious looking desserts, coffee, options of malts/shakes and sodas. My favorite neighborhood diner! They have a variety of options and a huge dessert stand to fill your sweet tooth desires! They have everything typical of a diner from shakes and malts to delicious breakfast and burgers. Ahhhh I just really love it here. Everyone is so friendly and I come here a lot so I appreciate that they always remember how I like my order (Olive burger, extra olive sauce, xtra crispy fries). In my early college days, I used to come here every Saturday morning hung-over and they always cooked me up something good to suck up Fridays' shenanigans. lol The prices are more than fair and generous and id much rather support them here than a chain diner. They pick up your tray and clean your table when you leave so bother looking for a place to dump your trash! All in all, It's super comfortable and I like the homey environment. read more

We like the food here , and have eaten here many times while visiting my sister. Today we were treated so rudely by the drive thru lady, she told us our order( 2 shakes 4 cheeseburgers,3 fries and a hot dog) should be called in and not go thru the drive thru, excuse me but if I went to the drive thru next door at McDonald's, they wouldn't blink an eye at the order. Icky and greasy, Hey folks, went to take out window and they were out of normal Menue items I wanted, so I ordered a burger with everything. Nothing was on it, so I had to go back and get it. Went home to find no mayo tomato or lettuce. My first bite was into some small bones mixed into the meat. Called the on site manager, and they laughed at me. I advise BK, where you will get whatever you want for less than half the price, and it will taste better. And if you just want coffee, they won't kick you out. Shame on you, Pete! read more

Went here for dinner last night, 1/28/15. They had three new people on the griddle. It took about 15 minutes to place our order. There was a long line behind us and I'm sure these folks were unhappy also. The young man cooking/taking orders did apologize for the delay, saying they were behind. They had four (4) orders hanging while we were waiting. As always the food was great once we received it. The gal on the register was friendly and considerate.
