The staff is the best! I went there with some friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. And they did such an amazing job taking care of us! We jad a cheesecake with us, the staff offered to take it in the back and store it in the fridge for us. They brought it out for with the candles lit to sing happy birthday and then they took it back to cut it up for us. I am so glad to experience such an amazing staff! Some things to note: you can order a cake from their bakery hut they need 72 hour notice. Cakes from outside bakery are allowed, there is a charge of 1.50 per person. It has to be from a bakery, it cant be homemade. Reservations on weekends is for 12+ party. Besides the amazing service. The food is amazing! The cinnamon rolls are the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. We got it without the bacon. It was flaky and warm and just so delicious. For my entree I got the breakfast sandwich with vegan sausage and no egg and side of potatoes. It was also very good. The biscuit is very soft and buttery. All the entrees were huge portions and enough for some leftovers. I will definitely go back even just for the cinnamon roll and the service! We had a small group and had no issue getting a table on a Saturday. read more

My favorite breakfast in the whole state: Lucy's root vegetable hash with sunny-side up eggs and goat cheese. I've been on the hunt for good brunch ever since moving back to Michigan seven years ago, and the best spot I've found is unfortunately two hours from where I live! My family makes sure to swing through at least once a year on our way back from Lake Michigan. My spouse and older kid love Sy's pot pie, and my younger kid loves the kids' pancakes with chocolate chips and sausage on the side. Not only is the food great, but Lisa is an absolute gem. She was our server when we first found this place in 2024, and on every visit since, she's made sure to stop by and chat, even if we're not in her section. We love her and we love eating here - we only wish it were closer! read more

This is great place. It's like an upscale version of the Stray in the SW side of town. Unique menu, great service, cool bakery items that you can get instead of dining, and just a great experience. This is a place we will return to often. Parking is tricky, but no big deal. Get on the Yelp waitlist before going. read more

Lucy's has the best biscuits and gravy I've had in Grand Rapids--and honestly, the best I've had in a while. It's rich, comforting, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. We also got a cinnamon roll to split at the end, and it completely lived up to the hype. It's incredibly flavorful and buttery. It's not overly cinnamon-forward like some can be, which I actually loved--it makes it feel more balanced and unique. Easily one of my favorite pastries around town. I've been here a few times now and it never disappoints! I went on a Sunday at 10:30am and expected it to be suer busy but I think we went at the perfect time and didn't have to wait at all! I got the peach french toast and it was yummy, very sweet as to be expected but just FYI. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way through and the steak was a bit chewy, so the dish didn't quite hit the mark for me. One thing I did really enjoy was the pineapple juice it tasted super fresh and was honestly the highlight of the meal. My partner tried their spicy hash and their Vietnamese coffee and enjoyed both. It was pretty busy, so I'd definitely recommend reserving in advance or joining the waitlist ahead of time if you can. We went to Lucy's for breakfast this morning and sat at the bar. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly uncomfortable from the moment we sat down. The bartender's first interaction with us was an aggressive, "Are you funny?" We were confused and simply responded that we were there to order breakfast. She proceeded to loudly ask us several more times, "Are you funny?" When we didn't respond because we genuinely didn't understand what she meant, she turned to her coworker and loudly said, "It's another person that's not funny!" I'm not sure when a guest's responsibility became entertaining the staff, but we were there to enjoy breakfast--not participate in whatever interaction she was attempting to create. There was also an interaction where another guest asked her what the soup of the day was. After a long pause, she responded, "Cream of mushroom soup. Yeah, I know." The attitude and lack of basic hospitality were extremely disappointing. Everyone can have an off day, but the way guests are treated matters. This interaction made us feel unwelcome, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to Lucy's. read more

The good: The wait time was not bad at all especially considering that it's a very busy Sunday. The hostess were nice and welcoming. The restaurant itself is very cute. The negative: We waited 40 minutes to even place our order... while again I know it was busy; however, it honestly seemed like the waitress would have rather been elsewhere since while she was taking our order before our group was done she was walking away. Wow! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our waitress was the kindest person ever. We went for breakfast and started with a Bloody Mary. We ordered the jalapeno corn bread with honey butter. The bread was so moist and when you add the honey butter, it was a match made in Heaven. Since I don't ever make eggs Benedict, I always order this when dining out. It was amazing! I had their feature which was a bulgogi beef omelette with fried rice, stir fry veggies, kung pao sauce, sesame seeds and green onions. I've never had anything like that before and it was delicious! Lucy's is a neighborhood favorite for us! I usually go for the breakfast sandwich because the dill biscuit is amazing, but I opted for their weekly feature, the southern cluckin' omelette. This can mean long wait times, but they currently use the Yelp waitlist feature so you can add your name to the queue before you arrive. I've visited Lucy's many times over the years and have always enjoyed my experiences there. My most recent visit was on New Year's Eve morning and it was pretty busy, but my friend and I got seated right away and didn't have to use the waitlist. I ordered the Creston scramble (corned beef hash, Lucy's potatoes, white cheddar, pepper, onion, bechamel, and scrambled eggs served with toast) with a side salad, and my friend got the BYOB breakfast. Our food was served in a timely fashion and everything was hot and fresh. I loved the fresh salad and the simple vinaigrette. The Creston scramble was a big portion and tasty as leftovers the next day. My friend's BYOB breakfast looked so good - very simple but everything was cooked perfectly. Our server did mix up our checks a bit, but it wasn't really a big deal. Lucy's will stay a go-to spot for me, although I do wish they mixed up the menu a little for more variety. But toward the end of our meal, we had people standing next to us waiting for someone on the counter to finish so they could sit. Another couple shared out loud how uncomfortable it was and how the staff was ok with putting that kind of pressure on the customers. One couple left and three ladies came to sit down, two sat down and one stood up as if she was waiting for us to finish. I'd strongly recommend the restaurant staff tells clients to use the chairs by the second door if they are waiting on a counter table. The stress messes the whole experience of eating out. read more

The new young servers this summer are AWFUL ! A young waiter is not friendly, doesn't listen to us when we order cuz he is too busy looking at the young girls passing by. Never smiles, gets the order wrong, ask him for a refill (he walks over to his phone first to read his text messages) he returns 10 minutes later with decaf pot (I drink regular) and ask if decaf was ok. takes another 10 minutes for my friend to get an iced tea. the old wait staff are great but these new hires, makes for an awful experience. Sitting outside our young waitress doesn't come to take our order, we have to ask another waiter to go get her. While I order, she tells me how I should order my omelets. She gets my friends orders wrong. we had to ask another waitress to get our waitress to correct the order since our waitress never returned to see how our order was. read more
