Tia Juana appetizer plate, cachito (sandwich), cachapa with picaña

Tia Juanita platter - the taqueños were delicious! The kids loved it, too. I liked the Arepas next. The chapacas with the cheese were really good. I liked the plate since it offered a variety of food to try out. The corn tequeno was good, too. This one and the regular taquenco were on the sweeter side and each item on the plate had different flavoring with the outside and the cheese. I really enjoyed it. The only one that I did not like as much was the mandoca. The service and menus are in Spanish. There is a QR code on the menu to access the English version of the menu, as well as a picture version of the menu. My Spanish is horrible, especially as I can only process it slowly and translate it even slower, but we were able to order just fine (at least I hope so! Lol). We also had the frap and a latte. Both were ok. The frap was mostly ice and I needed to add my own sugar since it wasnt very sweet. We would definitely come back and order the things we liked from above and sample more items. I can see why they are always crowded!

I finally made the drive down 1488, but was a bit saddened by the events. Attempt #1: I drove over, put in my order and waited. A few minutes later, my buzzer went off and I was told that the gas for their stove top ran out and that they would have to refund me. It's unfortunate and it happens, but it was definitely not ideal since I drove 15-20 minutes just for this. Attempt #2: I sat in awful traffic on my way here that made my commute about 30 minutes. And then I waited another 20+ for my food after ordering, which I definitely did not expect. When I got home, I was pretty unimpressed with my pepito. And my wife felt the same about her California hot dog. I know this is about as small a business as they come and I hate to be too harsh, so I'll just leave my rating at 3-stars, though it's a bit of a round-up.

Yasss food truck heaven here! We came across Latin 58 and saw their awesome menu. My husband got a guanábana drink and some guava tequenos, jalapeño and cheese tequenos, and lastly a chicken empanada. Wowowowow. The juice was amazing, had great fresh taste and the snacks were fire! They were delicious. The guava and cheese tequenos took me back to my home town L.A. when we're would hit up Porto's bakery for some guava and cheese bread. It was amazing! Definitely come check this place out and ask for Damaris, she was really awesome. Customer service was great and they even gave my daughter some really tasty cookies with sprinkles which she loves soooo much.

In the…read morelast couple of years since moving from NYI, I haven't found many legit Venezuelan options until recently here at Sabor Venezolano. I'm pleased to report that the food lives up to the name and most everything was quite sabroso and very Venezuelan. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside, but seating is really limited to solo diners and small groups. There are counter seats toward the back and small cafe tables in the front. There are some refrigerated items for grab and go while ordering is done at the counter. I'd recommend calling ahead of time for faster pickup. If you're able to order in Spanish, do it. The food gets a thumbs up. Much of the menu is Venezuelan specific which includes cachapas, arepas, tumbarachos, patacondes, and tequeños. While they have a "menú Mexicano" that features quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and tortas, I'd avoid it if at all possible. The arepas might appear to be smaller, but they're packed. I personally loved their jamón y queso guayanés, in which the latter is a thick slab of gooey cheese. A similar arepa is their mechada y queso guayanés, which is equally tasty and I appreciate that they have cazón (#1) as an option. The pelua (beef + cheese) and reina (shredded chicken with avocado) will be my perpetual favorites and the cachapas with tequeños are also particularly hearty. The food is a bit pricier than most Venezuelan fare I've had previously, foodflation never surprises me anymore. Given how often I'm in the neighborhood, I already know that I'll be here more often than not. __________ (#1) Nothing like a little shark to get your day started.

Ambiance is an ethnic strip mall restaurant, with Latin flavor. Salsa music playing, people coming and going is it what is. I'm a fan.
