This company is run by scumbags. I tried to sell my home and Mr. Cooper Mortgage sabotaged the sale by "losing" paperwork, delaying action until the buyers got frustrated and walked away, and lied to my realtor on numerous occasions. I am a veteran with 100% disability rating for PTSD and dealing with this company has been nothing but emotional trauma for the past two years until my wife and I gave up and let them foreclose on the house which was their intention all along. There's a reason Mr. Cooper Mortgage mutes all replies to its social media accounts. How this company is legally allowed to do business anywhere is beyond my comprehension. read more

Complete liars! I would never have chosen this mortgage company if I had read the reviews first. Anyway our mortgage company sold two of our mortgagees to them last last year (our home and a rental we own). The transfer process went pretty smoothly so I thought this was going to be a pleasant surprise. We were actually in the process of considering a HELOC to pay off some other debt so when they reached out with a pre approved offer, I bit and decided to check further into that. Well Richard Galindo and I went through the motions over the phone to see what their offer was and if that was in our best interest since we were just barely in the process of considering this when contacted. Probably about 30ish minutes on the phone and me answering questions about assets and income, the standard stuff, and ultimately didn't happen. In this conversation he very clearly explained the meaning and said he was doing a "soft credit pull" "which wouldn't show up on our credit", so I verbally authorized. About a month goes by and with a little research we decide our credit union was the preferred place to get a HELOC and begin the process there. Right off the bat I am asked "why did Mr Cooper pull your credit last month". Since this isn't my forte, I immediately recalled the explanation about it not appearing and shared that with our CU. I get an email solicitation from the same Richard Galindo from Mr Cooper. I responded to this email by asking why did he so emphatically state and explain the soft pull only to do differently. He responded that I was mistaken and that was probably because I could see the soft pull on my credit but others could not. I responded again by saying "then why did my CU just ask me why Mr Cooper had inquired on our credit lasts month?". For someone who typically responds immediately, he had no response whatsoever. I waited a week or so, reached out again in case my email wasn't seen or something and was again not responded to. So my next email went to the general Nr Cooper customer service inbox with Richard copied. That got his attention and he responded that his boss had listened to the recorded contents of our call and he had said nothing about a soft pull and I had authorized the other type. He included about 10 lines of our transcript where I answered in the affirmative, with three minutes missing between his question and my affirmative response...out of a 30ish minute call. I responded to both Richard and his "boss" whos information appeared in the transcript along with him stating "you're covered" in his response to Richard along with the selective parts of our conversation with HUGE gaps in the conversation and about 1% of the convo highlighted by asking him to send the ENTIRE transcript because this is a false portrayal of our conversation and I certainly didn't just make up the terminology "soft pull" or the meaning behind that. Remember Richard reexplained "soft pull" in a prior email with me? Well back then he doubled down and reexplained in writing until I proved him wring by telling him a lender is who asked me about it so it was definitely visible on our credit. Now he says he doesn't really recall our conversation and just explained soft pull because he took my word for that terminology but it didn't apply here he had since learned. If this is his job day in and day out, wouldn't this be the case all the time and not subject to change from one conversation to another? After me asking for the WHOLE transcript because I 100% know it would prove what I'm saying without a doubt, guess what? Again no response from either...because they didn't expect me to notice the time stamps, I suppose. Silence for 10 days so far since I asked for that. After this behavior, I looked at their Facebook page where they have turned off comments after hundreds have shared stories of shady practices. HUNDREDS! Everything is negative...EVERYTHING. Any company with any customer savvy knows you don't delete negative reviews, turn off The ability to review or remove comments because it is the same as admitting shady dealing and bad practices. If I could give 0 stars I would. Calling to speak with an agent is next to impossible- they have the AI set to f%c$ with their customers for so many tries to get an agent on the line that it is infuriating. I have tried for two days to contact them for a question and each time I spent literally 10-15 minutes pressing 0 asking for an agent or customer service rep and each time the same loop goes round and round over and over the same thing. Today finally AI said "were having a problem, I will transfer you to an agent" ...guess what??? No agent another AI bot and then they hung up on me!! As soon as I find a new mortgage company to take over --I'm out. They suck and I will spread this around as far and wide as I can. Hey Mr. Cooper- get the customer service line back in line- give the option to push a number to go straight to customer service. This sucks!! read more

If I could give minus stars, I would. When Mr. Cooper didn't receive our payment, I talked with an agent telling them I was going to stop payment (on our check) and pay directly online. They said they would make note of that, so then the following month, they charged me a fee for trying and failing to cash my check when it finally arrived at their office. In other words, even though they had gotten payment, they were attempting to cash my check which I had informed them was stopped. This was clearly their mistake, yet they insisted since they tried to cash my check, I owed them a service fee. Such terrible service. Stay away from this mortgage company! read more

They charged me $114 when Flagstar the previous load serving agent sold the loan. Just charged me! no warning and best I can tell for nothing and for a decision I did make. And the name does not engender trust as an institutional name would. It's like some oligarch Dude bought the load as a hobby. read more

Mr Cooper failed to pay my homeowners insurance bill out of my escrow & now my insurance is cancelled. it was 6 weeks late & even if Mr Cooper paid today, i will still have a lapse in coverage for a minimum of TWO WEEKS. With a red-flag warning going on today, this is more than unacceptable! I didn't even have a choice to have my mortgage with Mr Cooper, as they bought my mortgage account from my previous ! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but I have no real recourse. Avoid Mr Cooper at all costs! read more

Who implied he'd be assisting us & guiding us through process? NOT the man⁉ NEVER told! '45' day process NEVER revealed that his ONLY responsibility was to give us 'Interest Rates'⁉⁉ Was told by Mr. Russell a 'Winston Hill' Processor, ( REAL Dude we should've been working with Us) would contact us. DID NOT Happen for WEEKS Finally 'Winston' calls. After complaining to Mr. Russell, 'Where's Winston??' Winston now shares, Mr. Russell NOT responsible to 'Help' Us. His ONLY job was to discuss Interest rates. So now, weeks are rolling by. Dealing with someone NOT Actually Qualified to talk to us about our 'Refi' loan. Wasting weeks anticipating Mr. Russell is doing his job?? 'Winston' continually requests 'New' documentation nearly every other day. Again, 'Fueling our 'Frustration', Aggravation & now 'Anger' Folks who apply for a Refinance on their homes expect 'Professionalism', 'Knowledge', 'Honesty' & 'Competency'! I wis I could give zero stars. Our mortgage was sold 12 days ago to Mr. Cooper from Service Mac. At the time, Service Mac had $95,000.00 of our insurance repair money from AAA. We were finally at 85 percent completion. and the delays were due tp the HOA contractor, not ours. Finally our contractor started and a lot of work had been done. When we found out that our mortgage was sold and would be transferring in about nine days, we rushed to get our paperwork and inspection done to trigger the final payout of all of our funds to finish getting the work done. Service Mac made no attempt to pay us although they could have, and transferred everything to Mr. Cooper. When I explained to the person answering the phone at Mr. Cooper after the first of July, that our contractors are waiting to be paid, the person on the phone laughed. She was no help whatsoever ever. I would like to know what is so funny about someone being owed 14,000.00 to install a floor not getting paid. No one else is getting paid either as Mr. Cooper all of our money. Do not under any circumstance get a mortgage from this company and pray your mortgage never gets sold here. My husband was just told that they would not even help us for thirty days. In the meanwhile, we are paying out of pocket to stay in an air B and B that is an hour from our home and has caused us to spend all of our savings to keep a roof over our head. We are sleeping on the floor on air mattresses and have been out of our home since 2-6-24, today is 7-12-24. We are Seniors and really suffering here and Mr. Cooper is refusing to do anything to make this right. They are a truly terrible company with no customer service and no support whatsoever. read more
