Saw The Hops Spot on Yelp and knew it would be good. Placed an order over the phone from a nearby hotel and it was ready minutes later. Staff were professional. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! Historical building etc. Wish I was dining in but I took it to go. Duck wings with maple Buffalo sauce were fantastic! Crisp skin and juicy meat! Adirondack salad was flavorful and plentiful! We enjoy the atmosphere whether wanting a more intimate setting indoors, a fun gathering outdoors, or our favorite hi-tops at the outside bar! Live music is always a bonus and the support for the community is what makes this such a wonderful village. Good variety of food from salads and poutine to burgers or chicken, yummy! The beers on tap rotate with good variety, and there are also cans of all sorts of beverages available as well. We love the InKind app which gives added value. I stopped at The Back Kitchen for lunch after bicycling Amherst Island. It is the only restaurant…read moreon the island. While the menu is fairly simple, it is a charming establishment. It is owned by the community of islanders themselves and operates as a nonprofit restaurant. The employees are volunteers. I had a burger which was well made and was generous in portion. Coleslaw can vary quite a bit, but I really enjoyed theirs. Their prices are quite reasonable. They apparently have dinner specials each night and also serve as an ice cream stand. If I ever find myself on Amherst Island again I'll definitely be back.

Didn't have any aggressive sauce which can help or hurt but wasn't greasy in the slightest and the meat was clearly high quality. Sandwich was good, not at the level of the burger but that's more on the burger than the sandwich. Salad was huge. Like huge, for delivery twice the size you'd get from most places. Fries were not good but if you're basing a review on the fries than you're doing it wrong. I would still just upgrade to caesar salad every time. And easy would do again. 9.5/10
