    Smoked Highet
    Michelle N.

My family and I wanted a snack after our 1000 island cruise, and we saw that this place had different types of poutine. We had the Smoked Highet and also the Classic Poutine but with onion rings. They both satisfied our hunger, but the onion rings got too soggy because they put too much gravy over it. Probably wouldn't order it again. The Smoked Highet was good because the brisket was well stewed, but there was very little meat. I liked their Classic Caesar though, since I love Bloody Marys. I would say Tommy's is a place to satisfy the munchies, but don't expect anything more than that.

Very popular with students. By the time we left, the place was full and we were decades older than every single person there. They've got a great menu with lots of interesting items on the menu like beer battered fish and chips with lime and pepper chips added to the batter. You can even get perogies as a side. Our waitress was very pleasant and service was good but my buffalo chicken wrap didn't have a whole lot of chicken in it and it was ok but nothing great. My husband rated his avacado toast a 3 out of five as well.

Been here a few times, this was my first time sober though. The food is well priced and they have some really creative dishes. The server was nice and the restaurant itself was clean. The music was super loud though and I didn't really get the theme, they should work on their play list. Overall it was a really good meal in a very retro designed diner.

1st time visiting this place had a lot of good reviews so thought we'd check it out. Have to say, not impressed bacon was soaking in grease, homefries suggy, oily and tasteless. Asked, for eggs over easy soft, came yokes hard and dry. Would I recommend or visit again? Don't think so it is mediocre at best. Unsatisfied customers

"There were lots of young folks inside, some hip-hop music and social seating. The walls were lined with Harley posters, old Coke ads and other vintage signs." "We walked past the humming booth tables on a vintage checkered floor towards the foosball table to practice our shots. No coins needed!" Just a few bites from our full experience..

Tommy himself grabbed a menu out of my hands that I was actively reading to give to some girl he was talking to beside me. That was neat.

The place is open and bright wherever you sit, whether on the outdoor patio, downstairs by the bar, or upstairs. Service was excellent. My reservation was smoothly handled, and my server took good care of me. I got offeres some bread and butter after I ordered, which was really a nice surprise. The offered breads were seeded, ollve, and rustic style. All delicious, especially with the sweet butter. For the main meal, I got a half dozen oysters, an order of cha gio and their Ahi Dragon Noodle Salad. The cha gio were crispy, not greasy, sweet and savoury. The oysters were super fresh, sweet and a good size. Along with the usual condiments, they included pickled red onion, which is the first time I've ever had this. I really enjoyed the acidic sweet bite enhancing the sweetness of the oysters. The Ahi Dragon Noodle Salad had microgreens, red cabbage, red and green and yellow sweet pepper, red chili pepper, edamame, coriander, green onions, and fried parsnip chips. The Ahi was charred on the outside, fresh and meaty. I appreciate that the sesame oil, soy sauce and hint of chili on the perfectly chewy noodles was separate from the veggies. The vegetables had a very clean flavour, but I would have liked something more, maybe a touch of citrus. A glass of good wine rounded out the whole experience. I was way too full at the end of the meal to even contemplate dessert. All in all, a great meal, and I would return any time.

Felt like reviews here sold them short. We enjoyed our meals. Give them a try!

I know this place exists because of their generosity to Camp Outlook. They have absolutely 100% scrumptious bread! And baked goodies. I love their dinner buns. They are made in this pull-a-part style and absolutely delicious to accompany soup, or toasted with butter, or, Pb&J, or cheese. Almost anything really, you can't go wrong. I was in Kingston recently and really wanted those dinner buns, unfortunately they didn't have them. Not on Sunday, not on Monday. I settled for their mini olive and rosemary dinner rolls. They were good too. Service here is pretty on point. There was a question I had asked the lady behind the counter and she came out from behind the counter to help answer any questions I had and serve me. She was really awesome! They have a catering menu, a cafe for brunch, they have fresh breads available and they do specialty cakes. They are totally the real deal. AND they sell Neal Brothers' cheese puffs. Havent been able to find these bad boys anywhere. They discontinued them in grocery retailers and health food stores don't seem to carry them. I'm in Toronto and havent been able to find them for a couple of years. They are a pretty penny, yet worth it for the sheer pleasure. Their store front is spacious and inviting. Certainly the place to be, everyone seemed to be walking in when I went. It is very well known. They can for sure accomodate a large amount of people. I would most definitely revisit when Im in the city next.

We needed to find someplace to sit and enjoy some air-conditioning before getting underway. This place looked like a good stop. It actually was! I believe this is a Holiday Inn hotel. After perusing their menu, we asked for an à la carte order of truffle fries. The cocktail and the truffle fries were absolutely delicious! It was ready so we were able to eat fast and had a decent selection but we probably won't eat the buffet again. A decent selection of items that looked really good but once on our plate we soon discovered that most of the food was past luke warm and more on the cold side. What was there to choose from: French toast, blueberry pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with spinach and mushroom(this was one of the nicest items they served), bacon, sausage, bagels, cereal, yogurt and granola. The was a big bowl of cut up fruit which is definitely a super plus for me. You get coffee, tea, and juice which is a nice bunch of choices for liquids. Lots of seating though so there is no issues getting a seat.

I would recommend the following: Avocado Infused Hummus - The hummus was so light and creamy, and I love the addition of pistachio and pomegranate to this dish! The pita bread was also soft and fluffy Turkey Delight Poutine - Loved this shareable appetizer! Topped with braised turkey, fresh Quebec cheese curd, and crispy kale. That cranberry mayo was definitely chef's kiss! Seafood Linguine - Made with a housemade tomato sauce, and topped with fresh shrimps, Hokkaido scallops, and mussels. A very tasty entrée!
