A really great meat pasty. The crust is exactly what I would hope for when it comes to a pie or pasty! The meat was flavorful and it was a good size for the price. We also got the sweet potato pie which was also super good! I would be back to try more.

Great service from a gentleman who was very knowledgeable about the products. I did the N'awlins Pecan pie which was not to sweet and the perfect amount of pecans that gave you the best of both worlds with a Sweet Potato Pie & a Pecan Pie. Those two happen to be my favorites! Great ambiance in the market that is family friendly.

They offered samples and each pie was delicious. I left with a sweet potato pie slice and it was also delicious. This is a black owned pie company. The service was warm and welcoming and will patronize again when I come to Milwaukee.

One half of a beef pasty and half of a mushroom pasty

Recently, Mr. Dye's Pies launched housemade pasties! I tried the beef pasty, made with well-seasoned ground beef and potatoes, and the mushroom pasty, made with 3 types of mushrooms, celery, and carrots and seasoned with thyme and turmeric. All pasties are baked and heated in the oven when ordered. The beef pasty is finished with an egg wash before baking, which is where it gets it's sheen and crisp crust. They currently offer nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and a creamy sausage gravy, but the pasties I tasted did not need gravy. Many eat their pasties with ketchup, and I prefer a beef gravy, but again, these did not need gravy. They were seasoned perfectly, and the crust was thin enough that I wasn't struggling to swallow it, like most other pasties that have thick or dense and dry crusts. I was told a third pasty is coming soon, featuring Maxwell Street Polish sausage and caramelized onions, and they plan to offer a gluten free option soon, as well. So now you can get dinner and dessert from Mr. Dye's Pies, and I highly recommend you try these pasties soon! For dessert, my favorites pies are the Wisconsin Old Fashioned Cherry, N'awlins Pecan, and Key Lime pies. They also make a delicious banana bread, too.

I order ALL of my holiday pies from ant Dye's Pies and EVERY time, its the highlight of the party! This time, I ordered A PEACH COBBLER -- outstandingly delicious. It was HUGE and I was worried I'd have too much leftover. Nope! It was perfect. Fresh peaches. Homemade crust. Outstanding. MR DYE! we need to make you a national product. ASAP!

Pie connoisseurs must give this place a try...if you like thin, crispy pastry crusts, generous fillings, and fresh, warm pies when you walk up to the counter-this is the place for you! I came on a Tuesday evening around 7pm and they were sampling the Purple Monster (yams grown in Hawaii). It was delicious . I grudgingly shared 1 bite each with my son and husband. Yes, it was that good. I went back and asked if they were going to make the blueberry hill and the cherry sometime this week. Fo someone watching their sugar intake, I joyfully surrender my month's allotment to this place and I look forward to trying every flavor (sweet & savory) before leaving town.

I mean what kid wouldn't be excited for that? So many freshly-made options to choose from, and this one was a winner. Definitely a very sweet-treat, and worth splitting a handful of ways, but boy was it tasty! I also grabbed a latte for myself, which I always enjoy here. I will say however, I wish they had other milk options beyond oat and whole milk. I say this with no means to complain, but both of those milk are very 'heavy' so whenever something like skim or almond is available, that's a personal preference for sure. Love the community feel here, love the goodies, will return.

They had a variety of baked goods to choose from- we opted for the cinnamon roll and the seasonal danish. We also ordered a cappuccino and an americano. The baked goods we had were okay. We were disappointed they wouldn't heat up the cinnamon roll, the reason they gave us was because the frosting would run and be messy. So the cinnamon roll wasn't very enjoyable. I liked the filling on the seasonal danish but I asked for it heated up and it was served at room temp. The coffee was good- we both thought it was weak for our liking but it had good flavor. Also to note, this place is very family-friendly. When we were in, there were a lot of children and families enjoying the space. I would love to come back and try the monkey bread; they were sold out when we arrived this morning and we were told it's a top-seller.
