Each service person has been professional, courteous and reliable. Most recently I was having an issue with my sprinkler system. Based on the work they have done for me in the past, I immediately contacted Mr. Fix-It to help. I spoke with Jim, the owner, and found him to be an honorable person. He found the right guy to do the job. Since the young man making the repairs was still in his apprenticeship, Jim even personally came and supervised him. He did a wonderful job! A flight of stairs in our two story residence was significantly damaged (gouging, scraping and scratching of individual steps) during a recent move of a heavy metal chair from upstairs to bottom floor. I had called on Mr. Fix-It over the years for repair and / or the construction of a variety of projects in and around our home and was consistently pleased with his completed work quality and the particular projects' pricing. In this instance of repairing several damaged indoor stairs I called on Mr-Fix It once more. I was given a price quote that I reviewed and considered a reasonable quote for the required labor and the replacement of the damaged individual steps on the stairs. Mr. Fix-It insisted on only superior quality of materials that met his high standards be used. On at two instances, due to improper fit and or substandard construction materials, Mr. Fix- It refused to accept the supplier's replacement steps. On his insistence, top quality and properly matched materials did arrive from his supplier. Mr. Fix-It's team of skilled craftsmen immediately turned to and replaced the damaged steps with the new steps. The replacement steps are attractive, excellent quality steps that matches well with the existing undamaged stair steps. Jim Witmyer DBA Mr Fix it, I hired to attach a security screen door, as he was working Witmyer ruined my jam, look at photos. I thought if I painted over it, that would help. As you see from one of the photos the screw Witmyer put in made the gauge. Witmyer said he guaranteed his work on his site. But when I called Witmyer back Witmyer refused at first. I had to threaten him with a lawsuit before he agreed to come. And it was at his convenience. Mr Fixit finally came by and repaired the damage, except for Witmeyer left paint splatters on my house wall uug, please see photo. I told him he didn't have to paint. But he had to anyway. I moved to Bakersfield in April. My husband was admitted to the hospital right after and needed a handyman to help hang curtain rods. Erin was very helpful and sent out Thomas to help with hanging up and installing my rods and curtains. I also needed to have filters for my ceilings. They are 9 foot so I could not get them. Got their name and number from Home Depot. I contacted them right away and sent pictures and videos of the my laundry room where I just needed my pedestals put under my washer and dryer. They said they've give me a quote. Waited over a week for a reply. Texted them again and no reply. Called and was told someone would get back to me with a quote. No reply. Such poor customer service. I am so grateful that I found Mr. Fixit at the Home and Garden show. I had some cabinet drawers that were in real bad shape. I did not want to do a complete counter and cabinet replacement since the property is a rental. I contacted them with the pictures that were requested. I had a faulty GFI that needed to be replaced. Mr. Fix-it sent a young man to change it out but he was unable to get it working. He said they would send out the electrical expert to find out the problem and get it working and there would be no charge for his visit. I requested changing my exhaust fan in bathroom and 2 cabinet door fix. I was told via Email from comapny that fan job will be approximately 500 $ plus and after that cabinet door which is minor work will be by hourly wage approx 75 $ an hour..After exhaust fan was fixed Jim(owner was contacted by installer ) jim advised installer to quote and asked to pay total 250 $ to glue cabinet door and tighten 2 screws on cabinet hinges . obviously i refused.this is outrageous.they are out to make fool out of customer. They have been doing all handyman work for us 2 or 3 years now and I can throw anything at him and he delivers. There are times when I have very tight time frames and they always come through for us. I can call him for emergency service and they are on it. We are going through a remodel at one of the two buildings he does work for me and they have stepped up and fixed a lot of items the contractor didn't do well. No job has been too small for Mr. Fixit. I can not say enough great things about this company. if you want someone reliable with great customer service and stellar work, you can't lose with Mr. Fixit. I would be able to give this company a proper rating if they actually showed up. I went through Home Depot looking for a project to be done and they reached out to us. We set an appointment about a week later and they never showed up. I basically wasted my time. I could have gotten someone else to come in and could have possibly started the project but since mr fix it had such good reviews we went ahead and waited a week for their next available day. Again, they never came out or called. As we waited we called and no one ever answered. We will be moving on. What a shame that they wasted our time. read more

Don't be fooled by their warranty claim. Had this company out 3 days after Ian to reset my garage door. The side cables had come off the spools and the door was wedged. The service tech did this work that day and in closing told me there was a 6 month warranty on their work. Two months later same problem, door wedged and the cables on the side spools came off. Same tech came out and this time told me not only was the door problem different the warranty did not apply, and they only have 30 day or 1 year warranty. I explained the conversation we had that I was told 6 months on the work he himself did and the problem was exactly the same. He called the owner out of ear shot then came back and told me it would be 125.00 more. Don't trust what they say, and the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. After researching the issues I've learned that the most important issue with these large heavy doors is the balance. I believe this balance was never right after they repaired it. The door made all kinds of noise every time it was opened after their repair. Leading to the same dislodging problem. If it was an option, I would rate 0 stars. read more

I have used this guy a lot!! I am so disappointed and pissed off that he screwed up on my shower glass measurements, to where there's a gap and water gets on the floor!!! Then in one bathroom where we had him change out our tub to a shower, the drain won't unscrew and come out. I called him out and he finally came out to take a look at it. He told me he could fix it the next day. No show no call!! He ignored my calls for over two weeks! So I finally called someone else out!! I do not recommend this company at all!! Had a large remodel done on our house and while the work was good, we are unable to get the project finished due to a lack of follow through on Jim's part. It has now been almost 7 months since we have been in the house and we are still waiting on the completion of our front door after receiving an unfinished door (not what we asked for) and 2 months of silence after the last time we were told it would get done. We are pretty much done asking because there is a lack of professionalism and consideration, considering the amount of money we spent with this company! We are also still experiencing electrical problems, and had to call to get our fireplace fixed after he repeatedly told us he would Handel it. I would advise not making final payments until the project is finished to your liking. I am giving the two stars to his workers since they did a good job on their part. read more
