I came to Mr. G Locksmith today to have a key made for a lock. Efrain told me to come back around 4:00 PM because it would take some time to work on it. From the time I dropped off the lock, Efrain seemed like he was having a bad day. When I came back to pick it up, I waited patiently, and around 4:55 PM he told me, "This lock is very difficult to work on because you didn't even bring me a key." Of course I didn't bring a key -- the whole reason I came to a locksmith was because I needed a key made for the lock. He then told me, in a very unfriendly manner, that I could either take the lock with me or come back tomorrow. His attitude was similar to the way he treated me when I first arrived around 3:00 PM. Efrain, if you happen to read this review, I don't believe a customer should be treated with rudeness or a bad attitude. We all have difficult days, but when we are running or representing a business, personal problems should be left aside and customers should still be treated with courtesy and good customer service. I came to your business simply looking for a professional locksmith service and was willing to wait for the work to be done. Good luck, my friend. The stood me up twice: no call no show. The initial service to make a key for my car was great, however, when he cut the alarm to disconnect it I have been having problems ever since. The car stalls after sitting for awhile but the radio and lights come on. I asked them to come out and rekey my mom's house in Inglewood and that's when they started not showing up. I could very easily send people to the shop to handle this another way but I'm good. It's best for everyone to be aware and live and learn. They were recommended to me by and neighbor and I shared my experience at the block club meeting last night. Lost my keys last night and as anxious as I was, trying to find a reasonably price locksmith to come out to my house and make a key for my mustang was one of the hardest things to do.. first, having trust issues with just anyone.. but, as i searched I found mr.g locksmith on Google. When I called the guys spoke Spanish and was very helpful. Thinking the price was going to be around $500 like other commentators, he said a little over $100, which was a releaf. Lost my car keys to my 1996 Toyota and i called them to make me a spare copy at my apartment. Left a message and called them around 9 (they open at 10am) and the father (owner of the business) answered and he said that they weren't open at the time, but i still told him my problem and he just said ok. The time passed and was almost noon and i didn't hear back from him. I decided to call him back and he told me someone would come and help me out. They arrived in about 30 minutes which is a descent time, but i didn't like how he forgot about me and i had to contact him back. The owners son came and he was a cool guy not really talkative. The guy took about an hour to make me a key and he told me "you have to go to our shop so we can make you a key made for your car, because i don't have one for yours". The key he made for me turned the car on and opened the driver side door but everything else like the passenger side door, trunk and gas tank lock did not open. I went to their shop and my first impressions was not good the guy (father) looked at me with a resting b**** face didn't even greet me not even a smile! I had to do all the talking and i waited there for a couple hours and they(about three guys looked at it) couldn't make me a key that opened all the locks to my car. They finally told me i would have to replace my locks because the locks were so worn down by time. I was like atleast i have a key that opens 1 door and i can turn on my car. I went to my 70+ year old grandfather thats an old school automotive mechanic and he messed with the key i was given and all he did was grind the key down a bit and tada magic he fixed it! My grandfather referred me to other locksmiths he was friends with but i didnt listen to him. He told me that Mr. Gs locksmith are horrible business people and that they don't know what they are doing. If it wasn't for the son and the other helper(long hair, light skin guy with glasses) i would have gave then 1 star. Good, reliable, affordable Locksmith. Had an old security door which needed the key changed, a guy came out and changed the key. However being the lock was so old the new key was getting stuck. Called them back the owner showed up took the lock back to his shop fixed the issue, returned about an hour later and even gave me 5 free keys. Highly recommend. read more

I have a Ford Focus 2003 and you can ONLY unlock the car from the drivers side. The handle fell off but I was still able to unlock the car by sticking a string and pulling the rod. However, since I go to school and leave campus late I was not going to be able to doing that late at night. I was recommended to this place by a different locksmith that was honest and said he did not know how to do the job. I went to this place called "Mr. G" right before the 105 freeway in the city of Lynwood CA. When I arrived I explained the problem to him and he said he could fix it. I asked him for clarification if the door handle would be good to open the vehicle again and work like normal and he said yes. The wait time was about an hour and whole waiting I noticed 2 people came back to complain about the work he did on their vehicle but he just talked to them outside. After waiting for an hour he walked back inside and told me the handle wouldn't work anymore. That the handle could not open the vehicle that in order to do so I'd have to install an alarm system so that I could open it with a remote. I told him "you told me it'd work normal again" and his response was "someone else did work or this and I cannot fix it" I explained to him that just before coming to his shop I was able to open the door with a string and he just said he could not fix it. He still charged me labor work which was $30 and messed up the car even more because now I cannot even lock the car or there is NO WAY I can open it. He should be honest about whether he can fix something or not. Will definitely not recommend and would definitely not come back. read more
