Wish there were no available stars for this shop. The guy is super rude let's not even talk about maybe his wife? The rudest lady ever! So my mother went to get two remotes for her truck, when the doors locked it no longer made a noise, so we were wondering why? We went back and they told us it was an electrical problem?? How so?! She didn't want to refund us the money or even attempted to help my mother out. I said I'll be back tomorrow to talk to the guy and see how he can help my mother out. Great service and pretty decent prices too! He was able to re-key the cylinders for the ignition of my '74 Plymouth Duster this way my new ignition cylinder worked with m door keys and I didn't have to fumble around trying to figure out which key was which. One time I had them re-key the locks to my mom's front door. They did a good job with the cylinder, but it seemed that I had some bad keys. When I had issues with some of the keys not working with the locks, I took them back. The kid in the booth was very professional into getting to the bottom of why some of my old keys worked with the re-keyed locks and some didn't. After him tearing the cylinders down and realizing the problem was with the old keys, he made me 5 new keys for free. He explained that the problem was that the keys I had were not made or copied correctly. He took the time to explain that when keys are copied, they need to be set correctly in the machine otherwise the plunge of the key would not hit the backstop on the key (when inserted into the cylinder) and the pins would not line up right allowing for the cylinder to unlock freely. That's awesome service!! Not only did he investigate the problem, but he also explained it too. I should have got the kid's name, but he was a younger guy. Probably in his late teens or early 20's. He knows his locks! Re-keying the Kwikset locks cost about 15 bucks each. I guess that's pretty reasonable. read more

Not the type to post negative reviews but the man was rude and very unprofessional. I've gotten a couple keys cut here with no issues. Two weeks ago I had a few keys cut and bought a keychain. The keychain broke so I returned it asking for another or some type of credit. I needed another key cut, since I do property management. He seemed upset I would even ask for a credit. He told me that is out of my hands. It wasn't about the keychain, he was really rude about it and told me if I didn't like it I could take my business somewhere else. All I did was ask, I wasn't rude or mean about it. Maybe he was having a bad day or something but that's not way to treat repeat customers. read more

I feel a little bad giving this business a 2 star rating but after my last interaction with the owner I was a little scared even though I was on the phone and he made me very uncomfortable. I've had various keys made here - house, car, car with chip - all with no problems. He was usually friendly and fast. I also like his place because he has lots of different keychains and keyfobs with teams and logos I haven't seen anywhere else and I have bought a lot of them as gifts. I don't expect him to personally remember me as a customer since I'm sure he has lots of business, but we specifically spoke about getting alarm key fobs (remotes) made for my car and how it would require him to call an outside service (possibly the dealer or headquarters), special programming, an extra fee, and a week to do. He also said I could provide certain things (blank uncut keys, alarm fobs, etc.) if I could find them on eBay or Amazon, but that he had comparable costs for such equipment. What he quoted to me was very reasonable and cheaper than the $300+ dollars the dealer said it would cost. When I called to make arrangements to set up a time to come in, make payment and arrange for a pick up date, his whole story changed and he said he had all the equipment in house - this is not the case because if he had I would have had the things I needed made when we spoke the first time instead of waiting. He also said I would have to come in, which was ok, but he would not listen to me when I tried to tell him the make and model of my car to make sure he could do the work (since his story had changed I didn't want to drive 60 miles round trip for no reason). He got very angry and aggressive when I told him we had spoken and all of his information was different now. He also didn't want to tell me the price, or even a ballpark figure, even though he had given me a firm price before, and had even offered me a discount since I had had so many keys made. I didn't mind he couldn't give me the exact same price as before, but he wouldn't even tell me how much a key with a chip would cost (remember I had gotten them before, so I knew). I am not sure if other customers have had problems with him, or maybe he was having a bad day, but as a paying customer who wants to be sure about the service they are getting, I don't think he should have gotten so upset because I wanted to make sure my money would be spent on exactly what I needed. For regular key cutting services I'm sure he's ok, but for things requiring more effort or I don't know what you'd call it, I think I'm going to have to stick with the dealer. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner is extremely rude. I waited in line for about 20 minutes. My car remote was not working so I bought a battery and needed his services to fix it. I paid for his services but noticed that it was not working still so I went back to let him know and he started yelling saying "oh well, I can't return your money back because I can't sell it" i wanted to see if he can look at it again and he continued yelling. If it wasn't for the glass window, I felt like he was going to hit me on how angry he was. He would not give me my money back and left because I did not feel safe. If I could give Elvis 7 stars I would. Elvis has been my "go to" guy for key replacements, and I have referred him to many friends who agree he is well worth the drive wherever you are in LA. I first found him when I was shipping a car to the Marshall Islands that didn't have any remote door transmitters. Not a problem. In NO TIME at all he had new ones programmed and they work flawlessly. He also stands by his work. I had a key made for a Suzuki Motorcycle that didn't quite fit well. I brought it back months later (when I was back in the country), and he cut me another key free of charge. I am currently in New Zealand and bought a second hand hard that doesn't have keyless remote, and I had to google Elvis to get his number when I saw his business listed on Yelp and had to write a review. Elvis was great! I can't praise him enough. After trying a half dozen different locksmiths, Elvis was able to get my key made. I have a 1962 Cadillac that has fresh paint and interior. No one wanted to touch it for fear of messing something up. Elvis was apprehensive at first also, but eventually realized he could do it without much fuss. He also figured out the glove box lock had been changed out at some point too. So in summation, Elvis was able to make me a much needed original GM door key and glove box keys too. I couldn't be happier with his work. BTW, my mechanic wanted to charge me $250, Elvis did it all including an hour of troubleshooting for $25. read more

Usually there is a very nice lady that works there. But today I think her husband was there. I needed to make 3 copies of keys. I walked all the way from Paramount to their location. He did my house keys. Then after he told me that the car keys are much more expensive. When I asked him why he told me he doesn't want my business and he took away the keys. I came to see this guy after my truck got broken into and they broke the lock mechanism and the handle. I thought this was going to cost me a lot of money but when I came to see the guy that works at this locksmith he was able to give me the right guidance and he offered to buy the parts for me but I'm so stubborn, I like to get my own stuff and then once I had it he was able to install the handle and replace the lock with no problem. He's very easy to work with and the best part about dealing with this guy who I don't know his name and I'm really sorry, was that I didn't have enough money to pay him yet he was nice enough to say "go and get the money and just come back and pay me whenever you have it". He didn't hesitate to do the work and trusted that I would come back to pay him. I trust this guy very much and all his advice was very useful to keep my truck from getting broken into again so I will be returning for all my key and lock needs. read more
