My daughter is crazy about those squishy NeeDoh ice cubes. We came across this toy store at the Lake Arrowhead Village. Lucky for her, we were able to locate the last NeeDoh ice cube for $3.99. We were excited about the price because anywhere else they priced them at triple amount which I find it so insane. My son bought a small airplane toy and I had to get a Lake Arrowhead magnet for my fridge. Love the prices on those too. Total came to about $13 for all three items which isn't too bad. There were so many toys within the store though. It was a bit overwhelming, but lots of cool stuff. Some toys were pricey and some at reasonable prices. Very entertaining for my kids to browse around. Service was excellent and looking forward to next year visit. read more

-READ!!... I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The girl working at the register was rude, gave us attitude, and showed very poor customer service. I was trying to buy squishy needles for my two teenage children, who are only 13 and 14 years old. She refused to sell them to us because, according to her, they were "not kids." The way she handled the situation was unnecessary and made both of my children feel embarrassed, disappointed, and angry. Afterward, I called the store manager to share my concerns and provide feedback. Unfortunately, I felt that the manager didn't seem to care about my point of view or the fact that the interaction had hurt my family's feelings. The way we were treated left me feeling unwelcome. While I can't know the reason for how we were treated, the experience made me wonder whether bias played a role, and it left me feeling as though we may have been treated differently because of our race. No customer should leave a store feeling that way. I am without words after reading other reviews here, that totally make sense on our experience at this store. It is sad to see that my family and I are not the first and definitely not the last people that would have this type of experience at this store. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this store, and I hope management takes customer service and respectful treatment of all customers more seriously. read more

I had a very upsetting experience with a cashier who refused to sell my niece and nephew a squishy toy, according to her, they "didn't look like kids." I found this extremely rude and inappropriate. How is someone able to determine a child's age simply based on how they look? If there was an actual age restriction on the product, I completely understand following store policy and asking for identification or an adult to make the purchase. However, the way this was handled was unnecessary and embarrassing/upsetting for the children. They were excited about the item and left feeling upset and confused. Customer service should be respectful and professional, especially when dealing with children. I hope management addresses this situation and provides better guidance on how employees should handle situations like this in the future. But given the circumstances and other reviews it seems like bad service is a reoccurring issue at this store. read more

The girls at the register are sitting on their phones non stop and repeatedly scalded my kids for playing with things in a damn toy store! I'm a business owner myself and usually have more grace but the level of rude they were when I'm spending a pretty penny for toys is infuriating. Won't be back- will take my kids elsewhere . This is a great place to shop for a game while you are visiting the mountain community. We had family come for a visit and didn't have any games. We got quality games for a good price. Some items at Mr G's For Toys are overpriced. Other items are lower than, say, what Amazon is currently marketing them. We lucked out with some collector items that will be in full use soon. If I could leave a review with zero stars I would. The girls who work in this store are extremely disrespectful and rude to customers. One of them yelled at my daughter for "opening" a toy which she clearly did not and told her she had to throw it away now. As we exited the store they were shouting bye in a rude and demeaning tone. My sister was still in the store after we left and she said the three girls behind the counter were talking badly about our family loud enough for customers to hear. Mostly educational toys, Games and puzzles, a few Lego sets, mostly there to get something to keep the kids busy if you forget to bring toys from home when you are vacationing in the area. Prices were pretty much full retail so if you are used to shopping Target or Walmart you will think they are over priced. We were just browsing since they have an extensive selection (some items we hadn't found anywhere else before). My husband asked about Ticket to Ride and the employees were so helpful and excited to explain the game to him that he ended up buying it. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience in this toy store. My 9 year old daughter saved her chores money to buy a toy and as soon as she had paid she realized she had a $5 voucher in her purse to use The store clerk turned around and blankly said No, she can not use the voucher because she had already paid. Literally 2 minutes before! So we then said OK we will refund the item and then repurchase and they then very rudely said no refunds no exchanges unless faulty. Will never return. read more

Rather extensive and fun toy store. They have some trains and other toys out for kids to play with and pretty much every kind of toy a kid could dream of. To each their own, but if you market on the window that it is safe to enter, it's an absolute bait and switch to bring your children in a toy store that has unmasked uncaring employees. We walked in and the two ladies working at approximately 5:30pm (have photos) on Wednesday, July 15th, refusing to cover their face with masks and talking to customers. To these women, you give zero choice to the parents who believe the signs you have posted on your window that it's a safe place to bring your children if your viewpoint on Covid-19 and the state laws may not align with yours. We spent a lot more time here than I thought we would. I blame the 2 year old. He spent all his time with the toy cars until we finally decided on one. We also picked up a pool float for a very low price that the kiddo LOVED. He used it at the hotel pool 2 days in a row, and then we brought it home and he continues to use it. The guy at the register was very friendly and it just seemed like a great neighborhood store. Prices were reasonable...I didn't think they would be. Nice variety of toys. Now if they could just improve the customer service. I went into toy store with my 3 kids. Notice 3 young girls behind register..2 sitting and one standing and chatting away. We browsed around for 20 min. Kids wanted to buy something but I asked them to hold off until we come back as our car was parked close by and I didnt want to carry there toys around. We came back to the store 3 hrs later and the 3 girls are in the same position. I wouldnt care but I asked them if they had a specific toy my daughter had looked at somewhere else in the store as we no longer see it on the front shelf. The answer she gave my daughter was.."Well that's where their home is and if it isnt there, then its gone." Ok..I get it, but you would think one of them could get off their butt and maybe help check? Maybe if the staff could tidy up the shelves so customers can find things I wouldnt need to interrupt their personal conversation ? Sorry but the lack of customer service and friendliness deterred me from buying 2 scientific robots sets. Just decided to buy a squishy toy and walk out. It was a rainy day at the Cabin and we called to see if they had "Monopoly Deals" card game. Yup, that said, so we trekked the 14 miles from Green Valley Lake to pick it up. We recommend it, easy to learn and play. It was a wonderful day playing cards with friends. read more

Just love this store. Went with my son and he just loved all the things. He even found what he was looking for- fidget spinners! They had a bunch in stock. A younger guy and girl helped us and they were really friendly and greeted us well. If this place wasn't so far away- we live in San Diego- I'd come back here all the time. I live in Lake Arrowhead and needed a gift for 2 kids. This toy store is a cute lil store that has both the educational stuff and some stuff you would find at large chain toy stores. I'm giving it one star due to the extremely rude customer service. How hard is it to be friendly, especially working at a fun toy store. There were 3 young ladies and one was at the register while the other two stood there staring at one of their phone. I asked for a board game and they said they just saw so the red haired lady came around and showed, which was very helpful of her to do that. So I laughed and thanked them and apologized for the inconvenience as it was in plain sight but I overlooked it. So I turn and the other two are rolling their eyes and giving me dirty looks. Again, I apologized because I was embarrassed. So they stood there looking at each other rolling their eyes, not even one smile. I was about to be just as rude and walk out, but decided I needed the over-priced Yahtzee because I didnt want to drive anywhere else. I don't know if these ladies work often but I promise I will never return to inconvenience them again. Have been going to Mr. G's For Toys for years. Saturday 9/23/2017 we took our grandbaby for a special toy splurge. When we got there at 5:45 the door was locked and the closed sign was on. I knocked for several minutes as the 3 employees inside ignored me. Finally one came to the door and said they were closed. I said, "so you closed early" he said "we are closed". I asked him if the owner knew they were closing early and he said they did. My grandbaby was so disappointed and so were grandma and grandpa. Octoberfest was going on and there were lots of people there! I would have understood if the weather had been bad, but this was just a matter of closing early for the sake of closing early. To the owner of Mr. G's. Your employees from that night owe you at least $100.00 as that was our budget for the trip and we more than likely would have spent much more! As a visitor to Palm Springs all of the stores are new to me so I was excited to go to this store and pick out something special for my kids. We were not greeted when we walked in and not once did anyone ask if we needed help. I made a purchase and the cashier made no attempt to have a conversation at all. The next evening I decided to go back to purchase something and they had locked their doors. I knocked on the door and about 5 employees just stared at me. I knocked again and pointed to the closing sign to show them they closed early and they ignored me again. My friend then knocked and showed them our money because we knew what we wanted and had cash so it would be an easy transaction. A lady then came to the door, didn't open it, and rudely told us they closed their cash register already, again before their actual closing time. This pet store is overly pricey. Which, I could live with. However, they have the dwarf frogs in a small cube and tell you that you never have to feed them but once a month and never change their water. They also state that these frogs loooooove small areas. However, all this is very untrue. They are selling little frogs in tiny cubes. Their care of these creatures is inhumane. I bought one because I thought it was cute, and those were the instructions they gave me. Feed it once a month and never change the water or it will die. After I brought them home they died the next day. After I researched the african dwarf frog I realized they had lied to turn a profit. read more

My mom asked the woman working if they sold the bottles separately. They searched the store and the only thing they could find was a baby doll that came with a bottle. My Mom and daughter started looking around the store in search of another toy. After a while of shopping, the woman working approached my TWO year old daughter with a box containing a baby that was missing the baby bottle. She then says to my daughter "Honey, did you take the baby bottle out of this box?" WHO DOES THAT?! My daughter immediately grabbed onto my moms leg and just looked at this woman in fear. Why in the world would this woman who deals with children all day address my two year old when my Mom was right there?! Needless to say, my daughter DID NOT take that baby bottle out of the box!
