What a sweet little gem of a place. We were traveling through and found Mr. Dogs on Yelp. The food was delicious and servings we're generous. We had a party of 5 they prepared the food fresh and authentic. We had a NY Dog, Texas Dog, Chicago Dog, Chicken Caesar Salad, Pierogis & Italian Sausage. The ambiance in the dining room was quaint, we were the only ones there for our early lunch. The only surprise we had was they were cash only, there was an ATM close I could walk to. Never would have expected to get the best hot dog I have ever eaten in Butt, Montucky.

tI have raveled a few times in the last year to Butte, and knew about this place, but never got there until toay. I was absolutely shocked. The restaurant looks like sombody's Grandma's house from 1940-ish, and was somewhat of a cross between fast food (you order at the counter) and a "casual dining" sit-down restaurant. Hot dogs were humongous. in my case, I ordered a Chicago Dog - not totally authentic, because they use jalapenos instead of sport peppers, but otherwise fantastic, and one of the biggest hot dogs I have ever eaten. it came with chips (risps for any Brits reading this), on a real plate. Note that they don't take credit cards. I didn't realize this and hadn't been to the ATM before I got there; I did, thankfully, have enough money but the owner told me if I needed to go for cash, no problem, just come back when you can. Fortunately, I had (barely) enough money with me to pay the check, but figure on between $10 and $12 per person all inclsive, which is pretty cheap these day. It's really worth the visit. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! I drove past it many times and decided to stop in and see what it had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised! The menu is vast. Something for anyone no matter what you like they have it. I decided on a hotdog. We overheard a tourist raving about the " Hot Dog guy" . Of course the next day we had to find him. Wow! Best hot dogs ever! I had the Chicago, hubs had the New York. The next day, we actually went back for early dinner. I had scampi, he had a Italian sausage open face special. Incredibly good! The gentleman running the place does it all. WOW!!!! These hot dogs here are incredible...like nothing you've ever experienced. We were on a road trip and wanted to get something other than fast food--experience what the town has to offer. We got the Butte dog, Beaner dog, and Mac and cheese dog. They were huge too; none of us could finish them! The owner is so nice. The food takes time to be prepared, but it's well worth it.
