I booked an appointment with Alf via Instagram to get a fine line tattoo filled in with color and had a great experience. From walking in to getting to know the artists there, truly a great experience. Alf was such a cool dude, friendly, and a great artist. He nailed my tattoo and I love it even better now that it's colored in!! Also all of the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back for my next tattoo in the near future!

Yee Claw baby! I'm new to Long Beach, I've moved from out of state and have been here a year. I've spend a year searching for the perfect local artist, these guys are far from perfect. THEY ARE SENSATIONAL!!! I got tattoo'd by Alf on Friday the 13th, and I am BEYOND impressed. Typically shops are over crowded and overly busy, of course they were busy but not crowded. The shop was so clean you could eat off the floor. I've never felt so welcomed and comfortable walking into a shop. Everyone i interacted with was so kind, helpful and nice! This isn't your typical customer service, every single person treated you like an individual (not just a customer) they were so patient regardless of how busy they were. My tattoos are now healed and PERFECT! Lines are clean and crisp. Healed quick and were exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to get them colored! Alf was so nice! He was quick, professional and everything he needed to tattoo me was new and clean. Just an absolute professional! Alf's Body Art Studio is setting the standard in body art studios. SENSATIONAL!

I understand that this is a finger tattoo making it difficult, but of all 13 of my tattoos this is the least clean. Still in the healing stages so hopefully the lines are cleaner & thinner post healing. Looks like a great artist for cartoon style tattoos.

From the start of our conversation on here, Alf was responsive, honest and helpful. I voiced my concern on how it'll be my first and he helped me through the design, the size and helping me feel comfortable when we first started. This is a low key small tattoo shop but it is definitely my favorite. First off, they were so reasonable in prices compared to a dozen other shops I got quotes. The quality of my tattoos were as good if not better than the older ones I have from World Famous tattoo artist in the past. The place was so chill and relaxing. I got 2 tattoos done perfectly while I watched season one of Narcos on Netflix on their wall mounted tv. I will definitely come back for another tattoo at this shop, since the is my favorite tattoo shop now. I can honestly recommend them to anyone that wants a positive experience. Alf is awesome. This was the best experience ! I was so scared to get my navel pierced but Alfredo made it all a smooth ride. He was informative and told me exactly what he was going to do and he showed me the new needle he was going to use. He took his time finding the correct spot to pierce too. Overall if you want your belly pierced do it here ! Didn't even hurt like I thought it would I'm happy with my new piercing ! Thank you so much !! Im really glad I found this tattoo shop around my neighborhood. I was looking for a tattoo shop that specializes in traditional/color heavy designs and I stumble upon this shop. They respond pretty quickly to my inquiry and worked with my budget without compromising the design I gave them. My artist, Alf, was so easy to work and get along with. He gave me some ideas and suggestions without being too pushy nor difficult. After my consultation with him he got me booked for my first session. When I got there, Alf made the preparations right away. He was pretty fast with the outline, but he wasn't rushing whatsoever. Can't wait for the next one and have this one finished. Went to their Friday the 13th flash sale like warm experience. I understand the hectic-ness of the day but I didn't really feel welcomed and the vibe felt off. Owner was decent however the artist (older blonde lady) that did my tattoo was a little rude, dismissive, and used a condescending tone when speaking directly and indirectly with me if at all. I felt ignored my entire appointment and the tattoo was done with minimal effort in my opinion. Unfortunately due to that I will not be returning or recommending this shop. read more

Keep forgetting to write this but yeah. I love my tattoos from Alf! I got 2 wrist tattoos as my first tattoos. Alf was a sweetheart and his shop was super clean. Honestly the tattoos didn't even hurt me at all and I just kind of sat there like it was a massage lol. Can't say everyone will have the same pain tolerance as I but I found it enjoyable. The price was very reasonable and he was able to book me the next day before I headed back to Texas! I highly recommend going to see Alf, he's just awesome! read more

Worst place ever literally passed out as I was getting a noise piercing my 5th time getting one so I know how it feels and goes first sigh was not even cleaning my noise before , said 60 for 2 couldn't do 2 bc I passed out for a while and he didn't do anything to help Until my bf stepped in and had to tell him that's not right worst place ever charged me 40 when it should be 30 even after I passed out bc he left the needle in my noise for way to long ... Worsst plave ever by far not even a sorry for was charged the right price never again.. read more

The prices were reasonable and the owner was professional. It was painless getting my lobes pierced for me, the piercing itself was done correctly and quickly. I would recommend this art studio because of the great quality of service at reasonable prices, accommodating to the customer as well! We have 4 female tattoo artists, and 2 male. We offer a variety of styles: from color, Japanese, black and grey, fine line, whimsical, and traditional styles.

Meet the Business Owner: Alfredo C.

Alf knew early on that his attention was pulled on by drawing, as every teacher would harshly remind him of as he endlessly doodled in his notebook during class. A product of the 80's, he found himself sketching pop icons like Bart Simpson, Super Mario & the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As a lover of skateboarding & BMX culture, he would ride with friends while listening to Guns N' Roses in his walkman. By 17 years old, he followed in the footsteps of some friends & got his first tattoo, a small gecko. He became a regular tattoo client of Gerard Kuninski(Austria). He decided to pursue tattooing full time. He learned in real life, through constant seminars & while going to tattoo expos throughout the U.S., Canada & Mexico. He was traveling when he met his future wife in Los Angeles in 2016. He quickly moved to the U.S., living in Glendale, California before settling in Orange County after the birth of his son in 2018. He's so proud to debut Alf's Body Art Studio in Anaheim, CA.

This is the second time that I've been to the tattoo and piercing shop; the first time I went with a friend and also came in for a repiercing due to a hospitalization. I'm hoping this will be the last time that I go to this shop for a repiercing, but I will definitely come back here if I have to. Joslyn was extremely professional and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time during the piercing process by double checking that it didn't hurt. I had to purchase one of their steel titanium jewelry ($15 was the cheapest one) and was not allowed to use my own jewelry that I bought from Laughing Buddha. Which is totally understandable and makes sense as to why they don't use other jewelry outside of their own. I think it also specifies in their rules or contract that you're not allowed to bring in outside jewelry, but I would call to make sure. I also did not like that they didn't have a more comfortable waiting/seating area. Those tiny chairs on wheels are not really plus-sized friendly and I would have appreciated a regular chair instead of those. The online booking experience for an appointment within 3 days was easy to use on their website. I believe there was a $5 security deposit that goes into your overall total at the end of your piercing/tattoo session. In fact, my piercer Joslyn even emailed me to ask questions about my piercing history and whatnot. I really appreciated her attentiveness to detail and for taking the initiative to understand her customer's needs. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with my piercer Joslyn and would highly recommend her for your piercing needs. Thanks again!!

I knew Courtney would get it. She spent time doing her own design of my verbal input with some visual references and ended up adding extra details I could only dream of but never say aloud. She did it in 2 visits, not as heavy handed, and again the price was right. Her music vibes! Always a great time at Broadway. Also if you're into piercings, I've never seen an unhappy customer and believe me I say there for hours! I'll prob take my cousin for that. I got my nipples pierced on their Friday the 13th promo. I had been debating whether on getting them or not due to the pain but the piercings both were so easy and honestly not bad at all. I feel like my cartilage piercings have hurt more than these. It's only been a few weeks and the healing process is going well! All my questions were answered , during the process (I've gotten big pieces ) Shellsea (my artist ) has always checked in between , and provided me with breaks . Ben , has also been very professional and helpful. Over all, it's a great establishment , the artists all have a very good vibe , as does the shop. I have gotten all my tattoos by artists here , and will most definitely be returning !!! Shellsea is the absolute best ! For my biggest piece , she took me through the whole process from the design all the way until the end of the session with lots of ease .

Sofia added detailing and finish work and added more color and covered up the remaining skulls. We still have a couple more sessions (it's a big piece!) but so far I am incredibly happy with her work. She is a true artist! I have bought new shirts that show them off now because I was embarrassed by the old work. I have recommended her to friends and family because she does incredible work! I will add photos of the back part of the piece once it's complete.

Coming as someone from the neurodivergent community, the attention and care I received from Mermaiid was exceptional. She took the time to make sure my concerns were heard and validated throughout the whole appointment, as well as ensuring that the placements of both pieces were to my liking. The other things that were matters of concern for me that were met are the facts that she has her own private area for her appointments, and that the lack of small talk from my end was okay. Another great thing during both of my appointments were the movie selections playing in the background to both keep me entertained as well as to fill the silence caused by the lack of conversation were top tier. I am looking forward to booking my next appointment with her soon! Highly recommend Mermaiid!

It's also decorated pretty well. Jade caught my eye with her art and I have waited for her to open her books so I could get one from her. Although I would love a tattoo from everyone there. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I love how she brought my idea to life! The entire time she kept making sure I was comfortable and spent it talking about Disney and Harry Potter.
