I have been going to this location for 2 months now. With on going check engine light. Started off with just an oil change and had my mass hair flow filter changed. Once my filter and oil change was completed a few days prior to it being completed my check engine light popped up. Took it to Ajax location where they diagnosed it and determined it was the mass air flow code popping up. Then proceed to tell me I needed my circuit changed, at $647 exact is what I paid for this repair/service. After them installing the part my check engine light had came back on. This time i took it in they informed me it was my mass air flow hose tubes that needed to be replaced. It was covered due to the fact they mis diagnosed my first issue. Now after this hose was replaced my check engine light came back on. This time I got the area manager involved due to the lack of knowledge clearly that is at this location. I was booked at Nissan dealer as my vehicle is a Nissan car, when I took my car it got a diagnostic at the Nissan dealers they informed me that the hose part had been installed backwards and I had my clamp lose. I was in disbelief as I just paid for the circuit on top of this I am travelling from Oshawa to Ajax due to the fact they are the only location with a " technician". And to make matters better they can't provide me any documentation that states the circuit needed to be changed in the first place, as they don't keep " diagnosis documents on file". I'm advising anyone who goes to this location or any Mr.Lube location for that matter do not let them do any other service on your vehicles beside maintenance work, god after all this trouble and money I've spent I won't even be servicing my vehicle here anymore. As well to my resolution on this matter , I was provided with a $250 store credit. This place is a joke and have no respect for there customers. Be cautious when dealing with this location. As well as clearly this location does not have trained staff or staff that know what they are doing!! read more

Let me start by saying this is probably one of the worst Mr. Lube locations I've been to. The lines are long and they try to scam you into getting everything in the menu. During a simple oil change on a relatively new car, I was pushed to do a coolant flush, engine flush, air filter change ... the list goes on. I wasn't alone in this either. During the change I saw that the same tactics were being used on everyone else. As for the oil change itself, they forgot to top up my other fluids as they do at other Mr. Lube locations, they didn't reset my oil change warning in the car, and they tried to tell me to come back for my next oil change in half the km's the manufacturer specifies in their manual. Hell, there wasn't even any free coffee. Avoid this place even if it means having to take a bus for a day. The hassle isn't worth it. read more

An Oil Change from Hell ! I took my truck for Oil Change, it cost $239.51, they did something with the latch of the Hood, trying to adjust the Latch of the Hood, then disabled the Sensor, the warning light came on "Hood Ajar", the manager told my after few days the waning light will go off, lettle I know, it also disabled my Remote Start which I start in morning before coming out to defrost. Eventually took it back to Ford dealer, they fixed it and cost me another $426.71, so the total cost of the Oil change to me end up $666.22 plus losing a day of work to fix the mess Mr. Lube created for me. When emailed Mr.Lube the manager, they are playing deaf ears, such a jerk place. An Oil Cange from Hell, never again. read more

The other reviews so far have given the Pickering Mr. Lube one star, and there is a concensus that they pressure you to agree to have additional services to your vehicle. This part is true for sure, and the last time that I went there for an oil change, I was suckered in. They are very persuasive. I got my oil changed for a reasonable fee, and then $500 later, had my differential serviced. I am not convinced that I needed this at all. I have a reliable garage that I normally go to for servicing, but I had delayed my oil change and needed it done in a hurry. Mr. Lube is good for that, and they also give a coffee and a newspaper if you wish. In the future, however, when they urge me to go for extra services, I am just going to find out what they think needs to be done, and say, "No thanks, not right now. I want to check with my regular mechanic first." Before I drive into my Mr. Lube spot, I vow to stare into my own eyes in the car mirror and repeat that three times! I gave them one star more than most reviewers, just because, their main service, oli change, is really smooth and fast. However, that's all that I will use them for in future. My advice: find a reliable mechanic and use Mr. Lube only for oil changes when you are in a hurry. They are polite, courteous and efficient, but I believe that adding expensive, extra servicing is likely where they really make their money. read more

I just wanted to add a review for this business to prevent others from wasting their time by trying to save time! I had to get an oil change quickly and stopped here. The tech told me I needed my rear differential serviced. I told him I was booked to see my mechanic next week and that I would ask him to check it. The tech told me my vehicle "might not last until next week". I asked how much it cost and he said I need both front and back and it would be 500+ with the oil change. I asked how long it would take and he said "like 10 minutes" I said 500+ for 10 minutes work?? I said "no thanks, just the oil change please" he became very rude and was saying I needed to get it done. I said I'll take my chances and said no repeatedly. I think this form of high pressure scare tactics should initiate an investigation into this business since several of the reviews are similar. I feel bad for anyone who wasted their hard earned money here and hope these reviews prevent others from going to this location. VERY POOR service and customer care! read more

Hustlers are what they are. One day I came in for an oil change. During the service, they pointed out to me that the transmission fluid was low and unclean, and therefore recommended transmission oil change for $219.99 plus HST. In response, I clearly stated to him that I did not want the service if there was a possibility that transmission was leaking fluid because, obviously, that would render the service utterly useless to me. The serviceman then went on to assure me that it was not leaking, and so as a result I told him to go ahead and perform the service. Less than 140 km later (within 2 days) and I am completely out of transmission fluid again. My transmission was damaged in the process as it is still struggling to shift even after fixing the leak than Mr Lube said that I didn't have (with $219.99 plus HST down the drain). I later learned that transmission oil should never even be changed on older transmissions unless it has been done regularly, as it will cause the gears to slip. There was no mention of that before they performed the service. After I noticed that the transmission oil had completely leaked out, I called to ask for a refund for the transmission oil service and was redirected to the District Manager. I spoke with him a few times over the coming days and each time I had to re-explain the situation from the beginning, giving me the impression that he clearly wasn't listening to a word I was saying as he never intended to give me a refund. He was simply throwing me through hurdles to waste my time and money. At one point he told me to get an inspection done by a mechanic to prove that it was leaking, so I went to Canadian Tire for the inspection. After providing the inspection receipt, he proceeded to completely ignore me and my emails, despite me being polite and respectful the entire time. This is the second time I've been hustled into a service that my care didn't require at Mr Lube. This Company puts on a facade that they care about the customer, but when it comes down to it, they will scare you and push services onto people that they don't need just to make a quick profit. I believe their employees receive commission for pushing these services, which is a major conflict of interest. read more

I had a minor dispute with the work done without seeking approval, I wrote a polite letter to the Store Manager explaining the issue. Few days later I had an email and a call from Mr. Shankar Mahendran the Area Manager. Mr. Shankar resolved the issue. Later he called me to either collect the check (at the Pickering shop) for the extra work done or he would have the check delivered to me. I think the offer to deliver the check to me was more than what I expected. read more

I have two Ford F150's. Had my 09 serviced on the 8th of February and my 016 serviced today on the 9th of February at Kingston Rd. location. Had the basic oil change and lube on the first one and a few extras on the 016 because it's the first time I have had it serviced. I was dealing with a new employee who's name I cannot remember. I found it an enjoyable experience with guys being very thorough and consensus. I left with the peace of mind that my vehicles were properly serviced and I don't have to worry about them. Worst experience ever - started with being showed engine air filter yes it was dirty but chose to pass, they did not like that so instead of making any attempt to loosen dirt just jammed it back in. Next did a load test on battery (don't let them do this) B.S. car would not start after and they had to boost it. It's a 2016 with 67k on it never an issue with battery before this test. Anyway really p***** by now. Manger was called and played the not our problem card. Went immediately to a top mechanic at Shell, Whites road, he explained that Full load test will crash battery and make for a weak reading, assured me I was good and the attempt to influence me was nothing more than a con. Did see the oil going in so was not ripped other that the price. WILL continue to ensure others are aware of this joke of a business. read more

Mr. Lube pickering location... Worse service ever...scammers in the whole extension of the word... NEVER go there, unless you want to be robbed.... Went there with my nephew on his Lexus, previously they scammed my nephew with a "full inspection".. Charged him a ridiculous amount of 300 bucks... Then next month they tried to charge him 200 bucks for the same inspection.. I sent them to hell... Trust me on this one... DO NOT go there..!!! read more

I agree with the other reviews. These people are scammers. They told me my air filter and cabin filter needed replacement. They charged me 60 dollars for an air filter that did not need replacing and 65 dollars for a cabin filter that did not need replacing. The kicker is, the regular mechanic I see charges $26 for the air filter and $33 for the cabin filter! They flushed by engine without telling me there was a $20 dollar charge for this. They also claimed my rear differential oil needed changing at $109.00. I like to trust people, especially those with a brand name to protect. These characters most definitely proved me wrong. Given that their pricing must be standardized I would advise anyone to think twice before they part you with your money. read more

I have been to this location of Mr Lube many many times and EVERYTIME I am faced with additional repairs on top of my regular oil change I actually went in for. I used to take both my vehicles there (the wife and mine) but will never return. They always something to compare my fluids/components to and of course the ones on my car (10yrs old) look worn out but work fine. they always say its "recommended" and "i would if i were you" (scare tactics). The price for a fuel filter replacement is over $100, when in actuality the part costs them $10-$20 at most. i cahgned my own fuel filter the other day and costed me $10 and about 10 minutes labour. They have no set standard of hourly rate on flat rate prices (that are OVER PRICED to the max). Last time I visited they "recommended" a carbon flush of my engine, which costed me around $120. They made a total smoke show with all this thick white exhaust coming out the back of my car and telling me thats carbon leaving the system. This was a bunch of crock, there should only be a small amount of smoke coming out. Anyways, long story short since this "carbon clean" I have had to replace my catalytic convertor, oxygen sensors and am still experiencing an intermittent problem with engine jerk, all happening after this cleaning. I phoned them and asked them and they said this has nothing to do with this cleaning. No responsibility. My car ran fine before the oil change and they are denying this has anything to do with them. They are NOT MECHANICS in anyway, just grease monkeys with a wrench and bottle of oil. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who doesnt know about cars because they will sell sell sell until they cant sell u anything additional anymore. Each time its something, even with my wifes new car, they always telling me change this and this... it never ends with this place. All locations are the same non sense and I have discounted going to places that offer "quick oil change". Especially Pickering Mr Lube. They act like they know, but have NO IDEA! The technician was guiding my car into the back bay. I assumed he knew what he was doing but my car hit the bay door and caused significant damage. The owner and area manager took no responsibility what so ever. They even made me pay the bill. I was completely stunned by the whole thing. read more

Mr. Lube has an interesting business model. They offer basic oil change options, but try to up-sell you on everything--more expensive oil, OEM filter, etc., etc. The up-sell is performance-based. They ask you to look at the dipstick, examine the air filter, check the appearance of the transmission fluid, etc. They also check your lights. Their brochure says they check belts and cabin filter, but they didn't do that for me. They did a free battery test, which was useful (battery was okay). Some of their recommendations seem legit, but others are questionable. They ask you to look on their computer at recommended services for your vehicle's mileage. This could easily cost hundreds of dollars. Since everyone is getting the same treatment, service takes much longer than promised. I think if you are sufficiently critical, it's okay to do business with them, but I certainly wouldn't take all of their recommendations. There are other places that just do oil changes and get it done fast: that's what I would look for next time. If I wanted all of these other services, I would probably go to the dealer or a full-service, well-equipped garage. read more

Piece of advise. Never go to Mr.Lube at Pickering Location. Big scammers!!! I usually go to my dealership or my mechanic to get oil changed. This time I didn't have time and decided to go to Mr.Lube at Pickering location. As usual I received the upsell tactics to replace air filter, flush the engine and etc. I refused to buy any of these and asked for oil change only. One of the guy came over and asked us to stay in the vehicle and gave a hint that to turn off light because battery will drain. Lights were off as it was day time, but I did turn off vehicle completely including radio. After oil change, they asked me to start the vehicle and guess what my truck wouldn't start. Battery of course is dead and drained. Their recommendation is to replace the battery right away and bill is 200 plus tax. How on earth my battery just died after oil change. I had absolutely no issues or not even a slight indication till now any issues with battery. It always started, winter & summer. Never had any issues, but it's just died after oil change. Whatever they did to buy more from that place they have indeed succeeded. That's because we as consumers don't have a clue what these scammers are doing. I didn't change the battery there and rather asked them to give a jump start. I will take my vehicle to my mechanic. Please and take my advise. Do everything possible to avoid this location by any means. You will save tones of dollars. read more
