So they always have amazing soups. Lots of creams (cream of sancocho, cream of broccoli, cream of carrot) delicious! I pair it with cheese bread and have them heat it up for me. They have a steak that has a strip of fat on it I like to pair it with papas criollas which are little baked yellow potatoes. My man is not a fan of the steak however and I'm not a fan of the potato salad. The steak comes out on a skillet so if you like your meat medium, ask for it med rare because it will continue to cook on the hot skillet. They always have daily specials which are decent for about $8 you get a soup, meat, a salad (potato, green, or beet) and a side (rice, plantains, tostones, etc.) beans are not included however which I think should be. Yes, I was on Jury duty, the first time I had empanadas here. I regretted not ordering more than two at that time. Second time around, the lady asked if we could wait en ocho minutos for fresh ones. Of course! These fried empanadas boast a crispy masarepa with a nice bite, while the beef and potato filling was delicious and generous enough. Drop some salsa verde to get a boost of flavor, but I also like it spicy, so I added the red sauce at the same time. These sauces may be the reason I went back. While waiting, I was eyeing their doughnut called Churros Agruipe. Now I am regretting not trying it; it's killing me. So I must go back again. read more

First time coming in here and not impressed with the smell. The air conditioner is too low. Freezing wen I come threw that door. I order a 3s leche short cake. It was to small for the price $3 The cake was hard felt like it had a week made. Wish I had a better experience. read more

This is by far the best Colombian food I've ever had. The flavors were perfect and spot on. This place is owned and operated by a family of actual Colombians. The juices and milkshakes are the perfect combination of flavor and sweet, but not overly sweet. I had the mango shake and it was awesome. The mini Paisa platter was just the right portion and was delicious. This platter consists of steak and fried egg, chicarrones, sausage, red beans and rice, sweet plantains and a mini arepa. It was so delicious. I also had a side order of the Arepa con Mantequilla and Queso...and it was fabulous. I took a pastry to go to have for for breakfast the next day and it was wonderful as well. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you to stop by. You will not be disappointed. The service was exceptional and the food is some of the best I've had. Mr. Pan is a Colombian restaurant located in Midtown Elizabeth, in the business district. However, there are many other better Colombian restaurants nearby on Morris Ave. I've been here twice and I'm not particularly impressed. The first time I came, I ordered the bandeja paisa off the menu, as well as a pandebono. The pandebono was a little bit dry, likely from sitting too long, and served cold. I had attempted to order the full size paisa, but they gave me the mini-paisa. The portion and price still good, but the quality of the meats and the seasoning was lacking. The second time I returned, I just stopped by to grab a few baked goods and was given weird looks by the staff. read more

Caldo de pollo (chicken soup) and carne en rollo (a type of meatloaf with boiled egg in middle) which was so tasty and came accompanied by rice or mash potatoes with a gravy... OMG it was delicious. OMFG This place is awesome!!! Small with a few tables but the staff are so friendly and helpful. As an Englishman with limited Spanish skills our server took the time to explain everything so as not to kill me (I'm allergic to onion). Food is so good, coffee is great and I cannot wait to have my tres leches when I get home!!! If you find yourself in Elizabeth and you want a snack or a good cup of coffee then this is the place you have to come to. We will most definitely be back for more!!! read more

I really like this little place! There's slim pickin's near the courthouse, but this cafe is cute, has WiFi, excellent coffee, great empanadas and papas rellenas, and they make a homemade churro filled with dulce de leche that is outrageously, decadently delicious.
