Brisas has some of the best Colombian empanadas I've ever had, crispy and flavorful. My family and I used to come here all the time, especially for breakfast, and it became one of our favorite go-to spots. Their bandeja paisa for lunch is another must, as it is delicious and always satisfying. The food here has that comforting, and the service has consistently been great. Had an amazing time here for my dad's 87th birthday. They accommodated our party of 12. All of the food was great, except for the steak of the bandeja paisa. I know that dish generally does not come with the best cut of steak/meat, but this one really was not great. Dry, no flavor. Next time, I will get the entraña. That said, our entire group of family and friends were thrilled with the experience, service, drinks and food. They also had beautiful live music playing with a singer. It was fantastic. So yes there is a language barrier but cmon it's 2025 and the menu has pictures. Food was good. It was a very large portion and PE ding your appetite can be easily shared. I only wish there would have been a beer menu to go with it. It's a small restaurant. Looks like to be a lot of locals. This was my first visit without knowing of the place. The service was amazing as our servers assured we were comfortable and received everything we've wanted. I was very amazed at the fact that they offer lemon juice as an option to add to your water instead of just lemon slices. The pollo encebollado was amazing! I had the mini empanadas at a party and craved them so much HAD to seek them out! First off, parking is crazy so come with patience. Second, there are two different doors/sections but I eventually ended up where I wanted to be. In the middle, it's decorated so colorfully, traditionally, and FUN that it's definitely social media worthy. Third, there MAY be a language barrier but the servers are so incredibly helpful and sweet that you are at ease. Fourth, the menu is extensive. Luckily, I knew what I wanted so I didn't entertain the options and get confused. Prices are reasonable. Place is clean. Presentation is top-notch. Service is stellar. Stopped by for lunch and wasn't that hungry but I ate half of my meal. I got the shredded chicken and rice and yuca fries as my side. The server didn't speak English that well but she understood us enough and we just pointed at the menu, but that's how you know it's legit! My friend wasn't kiddinng when he said that they're big portions. I easily got 2 meals out of the dish. I was getting full but it tasted so good I kept eating as much as I could. Plentiful of chicken and veggies mixed in with great flavors. Sadly they only gave me 4 pieces of yuca fries which were delicious, fluffy and crisped. Everyone else had big portions too. This restaurant is worth the visit for a nice Colombian cuisine, but I left "unsatisfied" today. It is a busy establishment with a bakery & restaurant. It's cool how they have the waiting area located in between the buildings, and made it look like an authentic Colombian home. They make some freshly squeezed authentic juices, fresh authentic ice creams (fruit flavored), and authentic meals. Be advised that the wait here is long. You wait to be seated, you wait for each menu item to come out to you. Our waiter was hard to locate at times as we waited. It took around 30min after we were seated to get the complimentary cheese bread. It also took some time for me to get my juice drink. It was about an hour to get our meals. They do appear short staffed, or maybe their kitchen isn't big enough to cook up a large order for their customers. Not sure why this is. So I ordered the Colombian Mini Paisa (yes, that's the mini). It basically has it all, plenty of different kinds of meat, rice, beans, plantains, and avocado for a really decent price. Once it came out I was dying to dig in. The longer I wait for something the minute I get it I wanna tear it up, BUT I did not do that with this dish. It was cold, like "sitting on a table after it was made" cold. I never turn away food, especially when I'm beastin', but I had to say something. The waiter offered to make me another one, but after being there for over an hour now, and starving I had asked him for something quick like a skirt steak. His reply to me was the icing on the cake, "The skirt steak costs more". Needless to say I did not dine here. Towards the end he brings over a flan dessert to the table. So you won't feed me another meal, but bring me a dessert when you didn't even want to feed me....WTF!!!!! I did not eat the dessert. This place has a lot to offer, but having a "satisfied" customer is what makes them keep coming back. read more

Nice Colombian restaurant down in what I call the the Colombian section of Elizabeth . Located near the train station. Street parking can be tough but you will eventually find a spot. Lol. Inside is updated big time. One side is the bakery side and right side is the dining area. They also have a empanada spot a few blocks away We went on a Sunday evening for dinner. Menu is a little busy visually but functions fine. Meals are in Spanish and also English. Family LOVES their smoothies/shakes. It's a Spanish thing but I don't like a heavy smoothie before dinner lol I had to have a Colombian empanada with the red pica sauce . YUM. Such a traditional Colombian treat. We also had Guacamole that came with tostones and plaintain sticks. Guac was good. I prefer more cilantro, lime , onion and jalapeños but my family enjoyed it Everyone enjoyed their meals . I had the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce . You can choose two sides to accompany your entree- like rice, French fries, Madurai, tostones , salad etc. I enjoyed my meal.
