The food is excellent, the service depends. We called in an order at 7:15, drove 30 minutes to get there, and they told us they couldn't give us food for Dine in or take out, we were a minute too late!!!! They close at 8 pm! After pleading to just give us the food to go-and trying to reason with staff we were turned down. The inflexibility was mind blowing. As someone who has worked in the food industry for almost thirty years, it was super hard to understand. I believe if the sign at the door read 7:45 I would have understood, but closing is 8! Regardless of other reviews, My honey and I had to try this ourselves to give a solid review. With the Pho and the egg roll appetizer is was met to our expectations. The pho was better than expected and of course we tried the "Very beefy" combo! With the rising of costs, this place wasn't too bad in pricing and kept clean, servers were kind and tentative! My Wife and I Went to Mr Pho yesterday around lunch time. No wait, not a lot of people. Shorty after it started to fill up quickly. We got the pork Bao buns, they were good, more like taco style which surprised me. I got the all meat pho, my usually for any pho place. The meat was tinder and fresh, the soup was good and not greasy. The service was good and fast. Also got the jasmine tea, it was pretty good, although no honey to add in, so I was a little disappointed about that. I ate all i could eat and there was still enough left over for nearly a full meal the next day, which I am eating now. I'd say for the amount of food you get, the price is fair. One bowl could probably be shared by 2 people who don't eat a lot. I'd give it a 8/10 for taste, and a 9/10 for price. More of a lunch spot then a fancy dinner spot. Limited seating. Super disappointed. Came to take my kids to get pho & my little one loves fried rice. The fried rice was extremely hard extremely undercooked I let them know they didn't do anything about it. The meat in the rice was overcooked and hard and no flavor. I received the rice like 30 minutes after everyone received their pho. The broth in the pho was good however the meat was really fatty. The chili oil sauce was not spicy it was hard for it to give the broth the kick. Overall I would wait for them to get a better routine since the door does say it's a soft opening. Since moving to Merced, I have struggled to find authentic pho or Vietnamese food...until now! I know a lot of Thai places in town offer pho, however, Thai pho and Vietnamese pho have slightly different flavors. I was so excited to see a new pho restaurant open in town and couldn't wait to try it. We ordered the beefy pho combination which was $17. The price seems steep but you get A LOT of food with it! Also considering the cost of inflation, it is really not too expensive compared to other pho restaurants I've been to. The bowl was packed with meat and noodles, broth was rich and flavorful. We only had pho this round but I'm looking forward to trying some other dishes. I'm excited to not have to drive to Turlock for the closest Vietnamese pho or Fresno. They did a good job at managing a very anticipated soft opening. Of course like with any soft opening they had some inconsistencies but overall the experience is an upgrade to what was previously available. The food is best enjoyed in person. I really enjoy the business model of a small but good menu, unlike other restaurants that do 100 mediocre items. If you enjoy American portioned proteins with the flavors from a Vietnamese restaurant then this is a good place to check out. Personally I'm excited for when they have an official grand opening and hopefully they can keep on bringing good quality to Merced by continuing to just have a couple of good menu items. read more

My cousin and I came here on the first soft opening day and it was packed around 2pm. I was really excited to try this place because there hasn't been any real authentic Vietnamese food in Merced. The Bun bao was amazing specially with the soft and slightly sweet buns. The pho broth reminded me back when I used to live San Jose. Don't get me started with the rib bone. It literally fell off the bone. Everything on the rice plate was spectacular. The egg rolls were warm and crispy. I know it's just the soft opening and things are still little shaky. Tried Mr Pho for the first time this weekend and it was amazing! The food was 10/10 for my whole family, parking was easy and the restaurant was clean. It was a bit of a wait but nothing too bad. My husband said it was a little on the pricy side but definitely worth it for how satisfied everyone was with their dish! Will be returning soon. read more

Came in for the first time today with my mom and had a great experience. Hands down the best pho we've had in town so far. The broth was full of flavor; the meat was juicy and tender; the rib was equally on point and it fell right off the bone. The crushed red pepper sauce was also something special; it was unlike the other crushed red pepper sauce I've had at other Vietnamese restaurants. It was chalk full of flavor. The crispy egg rolls were really good too. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was top tier. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to get the first server's name before she clocked off, but Jose really took care of us and the other customers while we were there. He made sure to check in on us to assure we were enjoying our meal, he kept our cups full and was quick to take dishes away as needed.
