I love this place. Whenever I'm feeling sick and I just want soup I always think of this place. The pho broth is so flavorful and warming. It was our first time getting the vegetables pad Thai but it was really good. The server asked us if we wanted it spicy and we didn't even know that was an option. Our server is really kind. She's there every time we go and we never seen or heard an issue. We also DoorDash from there occasionally. This is my go-to spot for Thai whenever I'm in the high valley area. The hostess/waitress that I usually have is always super friendly and I feel comfortable when she takes care of me. I'm not sure if her family owns the restaurant but she has been here every time I've come in which is quite often. The food is fantastic and I've loved every dish I've ordered. The Tom Ka soup rocks and is a hefty portion. It's so flavorful and hearty. My advice is to not order it to go as some of the food and noodle can get soggy from the condensation so if you can eat at the restaurant, definitely do so. I love this place and think you will too! Pho was just water and soggy. I stopped here on my way home south. I can't say it's a must stop for pho. The broth had zero flavor. The noodle was choppy and soggy. That's not a sign of fresh noodles. That's a sign of noodles sitting around all day. read more

After being tired of eating at the same restaurant I chose New Thai Cuisine for my dinner adventure today. I was very skeptical when I arrived based on how empty the place was which is never a good sign. I was seated quickly and picked the Green Curry with Chicken as my entree. The dish arrived almost immediately after I placed the order which led me to the conclusion that everything was precooked? While the dish was loaded with a ton of vegetables and chicken, this dish was more on the lukewarm side and not hot. Definitely can split between two-- most of us togo'd our food. Pad see ew - a bit too dry for my taste. First time going to this place, I was looking online for some spring rolls and i didn't feel like going across town to my usual spot. I'm so glad this place is right down the street. Originally I had gone in just for spring rolls and of course some delicious peanut sauce, that was perfection! but it smelled yummy in there so I also bought yellow curry. Everything was delicious. Bella and April are wonderful hosts and very attentive to all your needs. Mostly busy so be prepared to wait. But don't worry, it's worth your time. Well the Thai tea is good, but the spring rolls are horrible. They were very chewy with too much rice paper, they use sliced chicken lunch meat , no carrots and a little tiny piece of shrimp at the very bottom of each one and are stuffed with iceberg lettuce. Do yourself a favor and do not order these!!! Have to say the beef Larb salad that was ordered was delicious. Both the Pad woon sen with shrimp and the pad se-ew were excellent. I'm disappointed that the food wasn't better because fine service was great. The waitresses were both very nice helpful. The calamari was probably the worst I've ever had. It has no flavor and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it's imitation calamari. The sticky rice tasted old like it had at out for a while, but the orange chicken was good. Not the best but I didn't mind it. I did enjoy the combination pho, the broth was very good. Luckily in Merced we have a bunch of Thai restaurants and this is one of the really good ones. The Pineapple Fried Rice is definitely a favorite. My kids love the Orange Chicken over most other places. We always need to get the Pad Thai and Pad Khee Mau. We haven't eaten inside the restaurant but it looks pretty cool and unique. The girls who work there are extremely sweet and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Their house/special fried rice is usually amazing. We always make sure to stop by here on the way to yosemite or someplace. This time though, just some parts of the fried rice were charred/slightly burnt, thus the minusing of 1 star. Pad Kee Mao wad good too, flavorful, just enough spice. This establishment is shit. I remember trying to order food from this place many years ago and was denied service because my debit card didn't match the name on my identification card. The staff gave me attitude and I was told to leave - despite me being a regular to this restaurant for many years. I of course was livid. Never felt so offended in my life. I never returned to this place again after that. Be careful if you're a Hispanic or African American because they'll discriminate against you for whatever reason like they did me. They are rude. The parking lot is so small. The place is old and small feels crowded. Food is alright. They also also have a stupid rules, one of them being no outside drinks inside. I had tried this place before and it was okay (I don't remember anything special) but with limited options and it was down the street from were we where, I said, why not try this place again. Eh! Whatever it's right there we didn't want to drive and didn't want the same old fast food. My husband hadn't tried it - we had just came back from a long bus drive from coming back from my family members funeral services. We were tired and hungry. We stopped at Starbucks for a coffee pick me up first then came here - we noticed the "no outside drinks inside" sign. So after parking in their tight tiny parking lot my husband waited outside with the drinks. I went inside and politely asked if we can still come inside with our coffees if it's not okay then we would have to leave. In a snarky, sarcastic, laughing rude attitude she said no. I said okay, thanks and left. Sorry I'm not about to dump $12 worth of coffee. And there was no need for the attitude. Things happen for a reason though - thank you for being rude - we didn't waste our money here for okay (not so impressive) Thai food. We ended up going to another Thai food place that was simply amazing. Worth every penny we spent! (We bought extra to take home). Also we both bought drinks at the restaurant we went to in addition to our coffees. I'm not sure if they make this rule because they think we wouldn't buy a drink with them? But that's not how we do things - when we come to eat we eat and splurge. The other place didn't have stupid rules, had wide parking spaces and more parking (you won't get your door dinged) And they were so nice at the other restaurant. Also the other restaurant was way bigger - didn't feel crowded. Thanks to this place saying "no" we discovered a favorite Thai food place we will continue to go to over and over again - we tell everyone about it. Was my first time eating at this location. My uncle said he's been coming to this place for years, he's 50, I trust him. So we ate. I order the Pho Combo, boy it was good. Saw all the reviews about visitors stopping here because of the yelp reviews.. I ordered the grilled salmon because of a review too. And wow! It's so fresh with fresh steamed vegetables! Friendly, quick service too! I asked for no rice, extra vegetables and boy did she load me up on vegetables! They were so good! And she gave me a refill of my iced tea to go! Such friendly service...
