We waited 2 hours for spring rolls, 1 bowl of curry and orange chicken. We came at 5 when they opened and there was 1 other table. By the time we got the spring rolls, 1 hour after we ordered them, the restaurant was packed. After that, the waitress came by and said they had made our curry wrong and "don't worry about it " and left. 45 minutes later, she brought the orange chicken over with dry white rice that she didn't mention did not come with either meal and was $5.95. Worst service ever. Bad chicken, all breading. My food was cold and my husband's was not made until mine was completely inedible. We were the second table in the place and the last to be served. No one cares and I recommend never ever coming back here. We ended up going to the counter to ask for the check, which was over $56.00 for 4 items without drinks. They interrupted us 3 times while we were trying to check out, talking to other people instead. We left our food. No togo boxes were given after asking. One person shoved 2 cups to put our stuff in as we were going to the door. Everyone was complaining and all they would say is that they were busy. No sorry, no check on guest experience, no service after she clearly forgot to place our order. People who came 2 hours after us got their food first also. Staffs are super friendly and talkative. The server will ask questions just to make sure it is what you really want which is good thing. Som tum Thai style, duck noodles, seafood pho, and pineapple salmon were what we ordered. I liked pineapple salmon even though it was not a chunk pineapple. It was small tiny diced pineapple sauce on top of salmon with steam vegetables such as carrot asparagus broccoli and string beans. Health dish to me. Sum Tom was good tending toward salty side. The duck noodles and seafood noodles were okay nothing special about them. I would assume their rice plates would be a hit as well as appetizer, salad, or any finger food. Kang keaw (2/5): flavor was pretty good...at first. It had this really weird after taste that didn't make this dish enjoyable. The texture of the various vegetables were too hard. Rad na (4/5): good flavor. The texture of the noodles were chewy. Bad experience: While I was eating, a moth (or some bug) flew from somewhere and landed in my food! Shocked I didn't know what to do and killed it on my plate. Overall, I've had better Thai food places than Thai Cuisine II. I will not be coming back here. The noodles are always perfect--never soggy and never dry. They're full of flavor and juicy when slurping, leaving a delicious residue on your lips. The look outside looks regular but remember the old saying, "never judge a book by its cover." The inside is super clean, organized, nicely decorated (I wanted to steal some of the wall art) but jail time is worth it. Anyways let's fast forward and get to the whole shebang. 1. Parking is shared with other businesses but there are plenty. 2. Restaurant is plain outside but the inside . Everything is up to date from the tables, chairs, ceilings, walls, etc. 3. The ladies bathroom smells like roses. I'm not kidding. They only have single bathroom which is the downsize. 3. Staff was awesome, in uniforms, and smells good too 4. I don't know what happened to my favorite restaurant but the food is terrible now. I loved the grilled salmon, I used to go to Thia Cuisine II to eat that dish because it was gourmet. My friends and I went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and two of us ordered the grilled salmon. It came to the table like a dried up piece of shoe leather. We were told that they airfry the salmon now. We had the waiter take the food back because we couldn't eat that disgusting food. I ordered another one of my favorites, Pad Asparagus, it was ok but not like it used to be. One of my friends had a beef and broccoli dish, the meat looked like it had been boiled, my other friend ordered Pad Thai and she said it was ok but not like it used to be. I don't know if the restaurant sold to someone else or they changed cooks?? I do know however that I will not be returning to that restaurant again. This has to be one of my top five spots in Merced. This restaurant serves amazing food such as Fried Rice, Chow Mien, Egg rolls, Spring Rolls, but my all time favorite is their Pho! Packed with flavor, the broth alone is so delicious. I go for the beef pho minus the meatballs. Honestly something about the meatballs in any kind of pho just doesn't sit well with me. Everything else though, the beef, noodles, onions, and that spicy chili for an added kick hits all the right spots on my taste pallet. Seriously, if you have not been here you need to try it out. I love walking into this place because it is a fairly big size restaurant, and most of the time they're busy. You're lucky if you go into this place and it's not packed. The servers are always speedy, and extremely friendly. One thing I a stickler about is having my water filled, and they stay on top of that. For desert, the mango sticky rice is amazing. You would think rice with coconut milk and mango wouldn't hit, but it does! Love the restraint vibes with the high ceilings. I've dined at this location for the past few years during my years attending university. The highlight of this restaurant is its waitstaff and the ambiance. The servers are attentive, frequently checking in on customers and providing updates to our food. There's nice decor, further contributing to a warm and enjoyable dining experience. The food however, is average. The menu offers a variety of dishes to be enjoyed, including some vegetarian choices. I would recommend asking for less sauce on almost everything that comes with it. I know that rice noodles require more oil to cook, but the pad thai was exceedingly wet and heavy. Even with supply chain issues in mind, the meat to noodle ratio was meager for $13.95. I'm out here digging for gold. That being said, this place is okay depending on what you order and is decent for an outing with friends from time to time. 4 stars would be too generous but 3.5 is a number I'd be comfortable giving. read more

Very rude worker! We're customers and patrons even after we pay our bill, you can't just take our money and then push us out the door like we're cattle! We ordered 3 items: wings, green curry, and mussels. The food was good and we were quite happy with the taste. However none of dishes came with rice. A single serving of rice costs $4.50! For a single serving of plain jasmine rice! That was surprisingly but not a major issue. It was the service. The moment we got in a girl (mid 20s, a little heavy set, asian) was rude when she asked us "do you want to eat here or to go?" No smile, didn't look happy at all, like she didn't like like people or working there or both. After our meal as soon as my brother paid the bill she came to our table and reached for my cup of water as I was trying to get a sip of water and looked annoyed at me. Like she was fed up. Then as my brother was boxing up our leftovers, she with her unpleasant face, didn't think he was boxing it up fast enough and told him she could do it It wasn't even that busy, they had 3 or 4 open tables. She came after our table the second our bill was paid, we weren't sitting there wasting time- we had an 6 hour drive ahead of us and we're ourselves in a rush One of the rudest experiences I've had at a restaurant. Tried this restaurant this past January 2020 weekend. When I first walk in, it was a cute little restaurant. Clean, people eating at every table, workers were all smiling and happy, friendly staffs, and it even has its own separate room with a bar area. I went on Saturday, 1/25 later in the evening and Sunday, 1/26/2020 around 6pm-ish. Both times, I had a good experience. Here is my take: Pros 1) very clean. 2) foods were extremely flavorful and good. I like the food here better than any Thai restaurant I've been to. Just the foods I order, that is. I plan to go back to try more dishes. 3) they make many of their own sauces for their food dishes. Excellent tasting. 4) staffs were happy, smiley and friendly. 5) the bar area was clean and cute. 6) bathroom was clean and well stocked. 7) plenty of parking. Cons? I can't say there's any cons for my experience. I had a good experience here both times. But I must say honestly, I love that all the dishes I ordered were very flavorful and tasted great. To preface this review, acknowledge those who've left reviews of similar sentiment: Jay J (April 2021), Kimberly G (March 2021), Adrian M (July 2021), Rei R (August 2021), Dustin G (August 2021), Linda N (August 2021), Gloria R (Oct 2021), and Anita C (Oct 2021), all of which indicated poor service, but were unaddressed by the business owner. Thai Cuisine II has several reviews praising the quality of the food and I concur with this assessment. The food received by my husband and I was delectable and presented beautifully. Yet, the start of our dining experience was dicey. My husband and I stood in the entrance for two minutes unaddressed. Only when we began walking to a table, were we asked if we would be dining in. Then after we were seated, it took ten minutes for waitstaff to greet us. We debated leaving. Due to time constraints imposed by lunch breaks, when we were addressed, we asked whether we could be served, full service, within 30 minutes. (Recall, we waited 2 minutes to be seated on a slow Wednesday and 10 to be greeted once seated.) But our question appeared to frustrate the waitress who nevertheless obliged, saying "we should be able to do that since we're slow today". The waitress inserted our order into the system then got us our drinks. We left within the 30 minute window requested. This was a plus! When we left, we thanked our waitress but remained feeling as though we were disliked by the waitress before we had ever sat down. We felt as though we were disciplined for seating ourselves when ungreeted and so made to wait ten minutes to order (during a slow business day) because we took initiative in seating ourselves. I absolutely would give Thai Cuisine II another chance but will only do so when I see less repeat reviews about poor service, because it does make all the difference. Came in with my 3 young children. Was sat right next to the bar that was extremely loud. We placed our order and it was read back to us. We could barely hear due to the lively bar. They brought my husband the wrong dish. When made aware the server snobbish responded that she read us back our order and went into the back. About 5 minutes later she informed us that they would remake it but it was our fault that because she read back the order. Our appetizers came significantly after our meal including my husband's remade meal. We were brought out 2 spoons for a total of 3 phos. Waters never refilled. We get the check and there are 2 extra meals and an extra beverage on our tab. We were also charged one item as a pad thai instead of a thai fried rice. When I notified the person checking out my order there was snark comments from the horrendous server including "those are both the same price". As a regular customer paying a tab exceeding $100 each time, I was offered absolutley nothing to rectify the issue. Sadly, that the quality of service has deteriorated so significantly. I wouldn't say much missed the mark with this one. Delicious HUGE chicken pho, very clean, fresh tasting! Highly recommended. Loner that they had all the fixings right at your table from the chili paste, hot sauces, jalapeños, chili flakes, fish sauce everything was right there for you to customize as you would have liked. I went with the chicken Pho, chicken satay and peanut sauce and Thai Ice tea. Sorry didn't take a pic of the tea as it did not last long ha.
