This is one of my go to restaurants when visiting my family. Food is amazing as always. Our go to's are steak salad, thai boat, raw larb w/ sticky rice, and pad see ew. I'd say this place is like a hole in the wall. It's small inside and super glad they installed an AC unit. Before, they had a portable AC which did not keep cool inside. Service can be a hit or miss depending on who is working that day. We've had wonderful servers who checked up on us regularly making sure our water was filled as well as making sure our needs were met. This is the place I would always recommend to my friends and family. read more

We enjoy Yummy Thai as often as we can. Everything we have ordered this last year has been great. Hubby loves the yellow curry without onions, and I really enjoy the green curry, larb salads, and some of the pasta dishes. Nothing has disappointed us. Summer time is rough though... the AC doesn't keep up. I recommend ordering to go. Spring rolls are good! We ask them to cut them in half instead of the quarters. (It is so messy). Love that it's closer to home and we don't have to drive to the east side of Merced. Yes it's in Beachwood and yes it's hot if you eat there during the summer, but it is totally worth it! read more

Food is delicious. Fried shrimp was fire! Appetizer plate was also super delicious. We had the pad see eww and red curry. It's a no frills eatery with smooth jams playing. A great place for a low key family dinner or lunch. We enjoyed our food for sure! read more

This is my first food review, but I just needed to do it. Overall, I have tried Thai food from all over the country, specially here, I come atleast one a month. Here's my personal experience. Food is 8.5/10, so definitely worth the price. Drinks are 9/10, specially the Thai Tea(Cold). The only reason this isn't a 5/5 review, is because of the FORKS. YES, you heard that right, the forks and utensils given are very flimsy. They are cheaply made and have an insane flex that ends up dropping the food mid way to your mouth. The gal that took my order didn't ask me how spicy I wanted any of my entrees. The boat noodles were decent. Pad see ew wasn't seasoned. I didn't receive my rice for the Nuer Prik Thai Dum. My favorite neighborhood Lao/Thai restaurant! The owner, Yah, is an awesome dude and has built an awesome culture around this restaurant. Read my last review for some food suggestions. However, lately, I've been eating the Combo Pho with Crispy Pork and it has been PHENOMENAL! Would highly recommend! Regardless, the food is consistently delicious. The servers are cute and awesome (unless they're overwhelmed by all the people who wanna eat here during rush hours). And the prices are generally pretty fair! PLZ!!! Food here has always been good. Service could use some help and probably some better hirings would help. The guy waitress with long hair was sitting up at the register smoking his vape the last time I ate in. Very unprofessional and health code violation. My most recent experience the girl hostess/waitress was pretty unprofessional and has a bit of an attitude. I had ordered 2 beef larbs to go and was told it'll be about 30 mins which is pretty long for larbs. Once I got there I noticed my food was already ready to go. I expected to get my food right away but was told it wasn't ready yet. I waited another 15 mins standing waiting watching my food while she fiddled in the back and almost like she was taking a break. When she was done with her break she finally gave me my order that I been eying. This place was one of my favorites to go to before but I think it's time to give up on it. Food- Enjoyed the authentic Thai/Asian flavors for what we ordered (beef larb). But noticed there was a mound of tripe under the ground beef as if they tried to make it look like a bigger portion than what it was. Service- Placed phone order which was friendly, prompt, and asked the right questions (spice level,etc.). After arriving to pick up the order it wasn't ready after said time. Ambience- What you'd expect for an older building and previously a house from what I've been told. May return to this establishment for future orders due to the authentic flavors and seasonings. The name is no lie, this is some Yummy Thai. The customer service is excellent, and the food is outstanding! I ordered some of our old favorites and asked for a house suggestion and we ordered that too (Khao Mun Kai). Everything was delicious and we have a definite new favorite in Khao Mun Kai. The ambience is "Hole in the wall" and it's perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. We are definitely adding Yummy Thai to the rotation. read more

The food is great. The atmosphere is chill it's a hole in the wall spot but great food. The only thing I say is be specific on how you want your food. I read a review that it wasn't spicy enough for them but when I ordered spice level 3 it was hot for me but goodness it was still so good. Can't lie we thought we might end up eating a house instead of a restaurant since it routed us through a neighborhood after getting off the freeway . Place was pretty empty when we arrived. Staff was pretty chill and friendly. Both got the boat noodle and a Thai tea. Boat noodle was alright. The broth was on the sweet side which we didn't like much. Tendons was pretty soft. Portion size was not bad. Thai tea could have been better. Personally it tasted too milk. Didn't finish mine and ended up tossing it once we stopped to tank up. Very pleased to find a Thai spot close to Atwater and that we were able to door dash for a work meeting. Make sure to tell them no spice if you can't handle the heat, but if you like it spicy then you'll love it. We ordered like 5 dishes and apps and shared. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The food was absolutely delicious. We had the spring rolls which were delightful and had tons of filling, perfect appetizer. I ordered the beef/meatball pho and it was fantastic: the broth in particular was so good. My wife had the Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles) and let me tell you... 11/10!!!!!!! Try for yourself and you will see. Above all that, our server was honestly one of the best I've had at a restaurant in the Merced-Modesto area. He even let us know that everything was made with love and believe me, we tasted that love in every bite! The food here is decent. We live in a small town so we have very limited options. However, my experience tonight was not as what I would expect it to be. The server who is also the cashier and the person cleaning the table is also prepping food. What I witnessed tonight as I was waiting for my to go food. This individual has very long hair was not in a hairnet was not wearing gloves while she was cleaning the table and holding a trashcan in one hand, then decide comes over to cash out a customer then without washing her hand, decides to prep my food. I ask her if the food she was prepping for me and she said no (lied) I have now at this point waited over 40 minutes for my to go food which I had ordered 30 minutes prior by phone. As I waited an extra long time for my to go food I decided I wanted to talk to the owner who is also the cook I explained to him that I'm waiting for my food and I'm not sure how long it will take then he looked over at the server and said isn't that the food I cook for her? Then I told the cook that if it's the food that she touched without washing her hand, I do not want that food for him to cook me a new dish which he complied. What small businesses like this need to do is train their staff better these days food cost is very pricey. We could choose to eat anywhere we want. I do not believe anybody chooses to eat somewhere that is unsanitized. I will never return again and wouldn't recommend until there is proper training. read more

Hubby and I stopped here on our way back from Yosemite. Wasn't sure what to expect because there weren't a ton of reviews yet. Got the crispy tofu, spring rolls, pho, and Khao Mun Kai. Wow everything was so delicious and affordable. The spring rolls were FULL and fresh with flavorful sauce. The tofu was just the right crispness without being oily. Again, sauce on point. The Khao Mun Kai was exactly the comforting. Asian dish I had been looking for after our hike. Well-steamed chicken with... once again a very flavorful sauce. The rice was also amazing. The ginger gave it just the perfect pop and it seemed like there was some ?chicken broth infused that made it rich. Anyhow, "small hole in the wall" as some have described but in the best way possible. Waitress was very kind. Wasn't able to exchange too many words because of language barriers? but she was attentive. The service was awful my girlfriend had ordered pho and they said 15 minutes and when we arrived it had already been 15 and then they made me wait another 10 and I seen my pho was ready the whole time but the lady at the front decided to seat everybody and then even looked at my pho right in front of me and ignored it to make drinks and get rice for the people she had just seated and then she proceeds to go take more orders and now it's been 15 minutes and I ask her how much longer and she begins to chuckle and tell me I have no idea I haven't been back there at all when i clearly just look at my food and ignore it and make rice for someone who just entered and then I asked if the 2 Togo boxes of pho were mine and she again laughs and says I have no idea I haven't seen those or checked anything and then she asked a worker in the back and guess what my order was ready the whole time waiting right there just like I had thought and then she proceeds to just say here and walk off leaving my bag on the counter after making me wait almost 35 minutes for it. read more

I must say this is a damn great Thai restaurant. I live 1.5 hours away and every time I pass by that joint I take 3-4 dishes and they are always so good!!!! Price is extremely fair and size is generous. Highly recommended!!!! read more
