This restaurant reminds me of a delicious family owned restaurant that used to be open in Massachusetts but was sadly shut down.. its the kind of place you want to go to try everything on their menu because of how delicious their food is! We went here while visiting friends in New Hampshire and it was so yummy we just had to come back! Their spaghetti, burgers, chicken parm and Jax sticks were amazing! I HIGHLY recommend the Jax sticks they were the best beer battered jack cheese sticks ever and much better than mozzarella sticks! We will come back and try more items on their menus! As for their pizza, I ordered their chicken ranch bacon pizza which was good but not spectacular! I think their other items are better choices! Went here for dinner to try after it sold to new management. We waited 30 minutes to be seated which was fine but once we were seated we sat for 20 minutes at a table without anyone coming to see what we wanted to drink. We finally had to go tell the front desk that nobody was acknowledging us. When we walked up to the front desk the host made direct eye contact and proceeded to continue on an irrelevant rant and ignored the fact that we were standing right there. They claimed nobody saw us even though we saw several servers look at us and walk by. When the server finally came, she was an older lady that was immediately rude to us. A friend in my party of 4 asked what mixed drinks they could make because they did not have an alcohol menu. The older lady responded rudely with "I don't know what do you want". My friend requested a drink and she came back almost 10 minutes later to tell them that they could not make it. My friend asked what they could make and the lady got annoyed and rudely said "what do you mean" and made them feel as though she was crazy for asking what drinks they could make. They then settled for water to avoid any more conflict. Once we ordered our food, it took about 20-25 minutes for appetizers and about 20-25 more minutes for our main meal. The food was not good. The mac and cheese was watery, the pizza was soggy, and the rest was very basic. The prices are high for low quality food and the service was even worse. Waited 45 minutes for appetizers the other night, plus my friend didn't get his order for another 10 min. They still charged him and even when we said something about how long it took for his order, nothing was done to remedy it. Another time we got a brownie sundae that smelt burnt. This used to be our favorite place to eat (We'd drive 45 miles to get there!) before it changed hands. Now, not so much. This summer they offered a double lobster roll dish we would split for around $25. It was pretty good. We went there today, and they changed it to one lobster roll for $22. So we tried the chili and Italian sub. The chili was pretty good with fresh tortilla chips, and so was the coleslaw side I ordered. However, the sub came with cold fries, and was topped with PICKLED ONIONS! Ugh, disgusting. At $14, this was way too much for this somewhat small sandwich, since it was not very good. I really hate when restaurants charge too much for a soda, especially since it costs them only pennies per glass to produce. At $3.50, it seemed excessive, though they are all doing it. This place used to be reasonable and had an awesome menu. But the new owners took the colorful and cheerful sports bar atmosphere and turned it into almost a funeral home environment, with black and dark green woodwork everywhere; no pictures, no TVs. And the music was a bit too loud and "pop" genre. It kills me when places do not evaluate their clientele and provide them with appropriate music. Massive portions and giant beers. We stopped in after the Mt. Washington bike race and sat outside on the deck. It was really hot so we were the only ones out there but there is a nice brook that runs behind the deck and made for a peaceful meal. The loaded nachos were messy but delicious. We had to ask for silverware but it started things off with a bang. The angus burger was excellent. A beefy patty smothered with cheese and a generous portion of bacon. The fries were forgettable and I would recommend trying either the chips or another option, but the burger was outstanding. Other members of my party got the steak and cheese sub, which was mammoth, and a calzone that was also large. I was disappointed in the lack of corned beef on my sandwich that I will def never order it again.
