This place is on point! My husband had the Mozzarella Ham sandwich ( he was actually humming) and I fell in love - yes, I loved it - with my Haddock Sandwich. A very generous portion of fish on a tasty, crusty bun and homemade tartar sauce. I was asked if I wanted to substitute my fries for poutine.......of course. What a heavenly combination. I've visited J's Corner many times of the last several years. There are several other restaurants in the area. The biggest difference is that J's Corner actually prepares and cooks their food from scratch while others simply heat up whatever came off of the SYSCO truck. And what comes off of the SYSCO truck is often times frozen. The food here is good. The prices are fair. Julie, the co-owner, does a great job of keeping an eye on the 'front of the house' operations. Sarah does a wonderful job in providing top notch service at the tables. She's very professional, cheerful, and attentive. The only criticism that I have is that since their recent renovations, the dining room seems to be chock full of hard surfaces everywhere. The lack of sound absorbent soft surfaces can make things quite noisy if the dining room is full. All in all, when I am in the Gorham area around meal time, I often times stop in for a good meal. read more

We had come up here on vacation and was stopping at the fallen seven Memorial. We then went downtown to find a place to get gas while we were there we figure out we were hungry so let's find a local restaurant in which to get something for lunch. That's how we ended up finding J's corner restaurant and lounge. The giveaway that the food was good was that there was lots of bikers in the parking lot. We are actually up here for bike week as well so felt this was a good sign that the food would be exceptional. We went inside it was only like a couple minutes wait while they cleaned off the table for us. We then spoke to a lady who was there sitting at the door a customer with a larger party. She told us we should try either the baked fish which I think was haddock or like steak tips I ended up getting with recommendation from the waitress who said yes that lady was a regular customer twice a week. I ended up getting the stuff potato skins which were stuffed with steak tips they were melt in your mouth like you didn't even need a knife to cut them that was amazing. I also got a cup of homemade chicken vegetable soup. My honey ended up getting a burger because he is a big burger fan and also instead of french fries and stuff he got a cup of chowder it was loaded with clams some onions potato but mostly clams and the broth our other friend got the steak tip dinner with fries and green beans everything was out of this world our friend has a gluten problem They were able to accommodate him by having them done in a different grill etc. so they would be gluten-free. I wish I lived closer cause I definitely would go there like the other lady at least once a week. Everything was amazing the server 's name was Sarah and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable in their restaurant. She was very accommodating she came right away with our beverages and said if you could just wait a couple minutes and come back to take your order she did return in 2 min. She explained all of details the menu the specials etc. did explain to us a large party had come in so we might be a few extra minutes before we get our dinners but that was OK we waited it was no more than like 10 I'll say at the most before that Our meal came out hot and fresh it was truly one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere it was also why the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant out of town read more

We stopped in here for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon while snowmobiling in the area. The place was packed with other snowmobilers so we thought this was a good choice. They had a good menu and bar so we thought we had be fine. I had a $9.99 3 course special of appt. entree and dessert. I ordered potato skins (ok and most edible of everything), ribs w/ fries, and mashed cauliflower, and dessert that never came. The ribs were dry and fatty. Came with cold greasy fries. Cauliflower was ok. Dessert never made it out. I would not go back even though service was attentive. At least it was right off the trail. 2-16-08 Ok so we did go back. Again 2 stars. Going back to read my review, it was spot on. Again greasy fries and tasteless club sandwich. I enjoyed my bowl of soup which was filled only half way. read more

This place came up on Yelp and looked really good so we stopped in to give it a try. Upon entering, we were assaulted with some Scentcy which I don't want to smell when I enter a restaurant, I want to smell real food. The interior though was quite nice, I thought "oh no, is this place expensive because it looks nice?" The menu however was great, not too big, not too small with a great selection of apps, soups, salads, mains, sandwiches, & burgers. We shared the poutine because it's not easy to find in our part of the country. Loved it! I had the turkey club which was very big with fresh cut french fries which were so good! My husband had the haddock sandwich and clam chowder which he also enjoyed very much. The server was also very good at her job. The things I would suggest to make this experience better is the ladies bathroom has no purse hook and the door was difficult to close. Lose the Scentcy, you don't need it. People use that to cover bad odors and this place didn't have any. read more
