The scooter was taken in to have a service done on it and when my partner went to pick it up they informed him it would be more money because they had to change the brakes. I have never been somewhere in where they change something on a car, truck, boat or etc where they would not call you first and ask you if it's okay to do that. What if the client doesn't have the money and now you've just forced them into something that they may not be able to financially afford? He luckily had the money. Not too long after he had issues with the back breaks and was told he needed new ones. But they had just been changed so how is it that so soon after that they needed to be changed again. I know breaks are part of the wear and tear but considering my partner drives less than two miles to work I highly doubt it was wear and tear. My partner is not happy at all with them and honestly it makes me feel bad that I was the one that found them. Especially since it's hard to find parts for the scooter we purchased so it leaves us in a bit of a bind. Personally I've never dealt with a company like this and for sure it's a lesson learned.

Ripoff Artists at Work! Stay Away!…read more I bought two bikes from this location and would have bought two more had it not been for this experience! I brought my bike in for a rear hub repair. I explained to the service tech what was wrong and he immediately tried to sell me a $450-$500 full bike service. Absolutely INSANE. When I told him that I didn't really want to spend that much and asked if he'd consider addressing just the rear hub, he completely lost interest. I walked out, went to Alex's Bicycle shop just up the road in Weston. They knew exactly what was wrong, quoted me ~$50 for the job and would call me if anything changed. Less than 24 hours later they called to tell me my bike was done. They replaced the rear cassette for $40 and charged me $15 for labor. Trek service department is just shameful. Predatory service tactics like a greasy mechanic shop trying to upsell. BUYER BEWARE!

I've worked as a bicycle messenger in NYC for 10 years, & I've been to hundreds of bicycle shops. The guy running the shop is rude, & condescending overall. He'll only do repairs when he's selling you his own 3rd party parts... Response to the condescending owner: Imagine this, you moved to Florida from NYC a year ago but still don't have a car, & ride a bicycle everywhere. You ran over a nail, & have been off your bike for over week. You wait for the specific, difficult to find, replacement tires to arrive. Then you're told that they won't install tires that are the exact same brand as your bicycle?? Let's be honest, you didn't even have my specific tires in stock! I was told, in a rather abrupt tone, that no one was available and the call was ended. I called back to understand what had happened, and when I asked why the call had been disconnected, I was again told, somewhat rudely, that there was nobody who speaks Spanish. I then said I would try to explain what I needed in English, but the response I received -- "Ok, so what do you want?" -- was delivered in a tone that clearly conveyed annoyance and impatience. At that point, noticing the discomfort and lack of willingness to help, I chose to end the conversation politely and wished her a good day. I believe customer service is extremely important. Even when language barriers exist, professionalism, patience, and courtesy should always remain priorities. If someone is not comfortable interacting respectfully with customers, it may be worth reconsidering whether they are suited for a customer-facing role. My intention is simply to provide constructive feedback so future interactions can reflect the level of service customers expect and deserve.

The day after Christmas my son was driving it with my daughter in it, all I hear is screaming I ran down the street so fast and the wheel came off!! Luckily my children were not hurt!!! I'm so grateful for my neighbor because he knew what he was doing and had multiple GOKARTS before, he helped us to rig it to get it home. I then called power & play multiple times and no answer, when I finally got through the lady (owner) was not in, they said they check everything before sending out, and HUNG UP ON ME!! I visited Scooter Ave on Monday the 16th as a first-time customer for an oil change and a…read morereplacement of my rear tire. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience regarding the quality of service and workmanship I received. After being informed that my bike also required an engine tune-up, I agreed to proceed. However, when I picked up the motorcycle, I immediately noticed that it was leaking oil and had to return to have that issue corrected. Shortly after, the bike would not start. I was told the battery was the problem, so I purchased a new one. Even with the new battery installed, the bike still would not start. I was then informed that the starter was the issue, which required bringing the bike back into the workshop again. It appeared that the starter may have been bypassed just to get the bike running. These were problems I did not experience prior to bringing my motorcycle in for service. In total, I paid $340, and I am left feeling that I may have been overcharged for unsatisfactory work. To make matters worse, my license plate frame was removed and replaced with a Scooter Ave branded frame without my consent. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the service and cannot recommend doing business with Scooter Ave based on my experience.
