This sushi is totally worth it! The portions are filling and the quality of the fish is top notch. The service was very accommodating even though the restaurant as a whole was pretty busy. Also, even though there were a lot of people I didn't feel unsafe or too close to anyone as I was eating my food. There is something for everyone and everyone will leave satisfied with the environment and food. I got sashimi, baked sushi, bowls, and some popcorn appetizers that were all amazing. The price was pretty reasonable for sushi considering how much food we ate. I legit drove 45 mins to try this food and it excelled in every expectation for a quality restaurant. read more

This place is one of my favorite sushi spots but unfortunately I can't give them 5 stars because every time I go I feel rushed. Yelp and google say they close at 9:30 but around 9:10-9:15 they start putting the chairs up on the table and they bring you the check while your eating and they say no rush even tho you know it's a lie. I've been to restaurants that until you don't ask for the check they don't bring it and also they don't don't put the chairs up while your still eating. That could be one of the reasons why I don't come back. I hate feeling rushed. I hope management or owner reads the reviews and sees so many people are complaining about being rushed. read more

Here is the problem...I saw a notice of change in ownership in the window and I asked one of the regular waitresses what was going on. She was really busy, but said don't worry things would be the same...color me panic stricken....!!! Hopefully nothing will change. I had my usual sashimi here including the sea scallops that are like butter....so velvety smooth and flavorful and the yellow tail which are cut large and in charge. I came here for my friend's birthday and he chose this place because he had such a wonderful experience before. The place is dimly lit and cool, so it's a nice change in climate from the ridiculous valley heat. We all opted for the All You Can Eat (AYCE) option, which was around $33-35 per person including tax and tip, which is a pretty good deal. The pieces of fish for the nigiri were huge! The rolls were flavorful and the quality of fish is actually pretty good for an AYCE place. There is a large selection of rolls. My favorite would have to be the Hama Roll. I liked the gyoza, sesame chicken, and the sesame salad from the kitchen items, which were included in AYCE. Of the appetizers, my favorite was the crispy scallops. The miso soup was extremely salty. I had to add some hot water to dilute it. I think a lot of water evaporated from the big pot of miso soup they had in the kitchen, turning it into a salt soup. read more

I was a regular over at Akasaka Sushi where Song used to be at. Now he's opened up his own place and I have not been to any other place on my own since. The fish selection is just like anywhere else with the basics. All of that is good and as fresh as it can be. Occasionally Song will have Live Uni, Lobster, Shrimp and Sea Cucumber. All of these go fast and tend to no be in stock for a later dinner. The rolls are really good and Song has improved the overall service of the wait staff. All around my favorite spot for sushi. I will not go anywhere else. Things to note: All you can eat price is $26. Parking is a large lot and free. Service is improved and excellent now. From the outside it's just another strip mall restaurant. On the inside the place is jumpin! Mr Sushi offers full sushi bar and sit down eating. They get a lot of people in here. The have hosted service and we had great service form the wait staff. I ordered the 2 item bento box. It came with miso soup, salad, rice, mixed tempura, and choice of the 2 items of chicken, salmon, beef teriyaki or various rolls or sushi. I got the sesame chicken and spicy tuna roll. The chicken was great, crispy and flavorful. The spicy tuna roll was good too - tasted fresh. Nice big shrimp in the tempura too. For about $10 it was a good amount of food. We also got a kids meal and it looked good too! It came with chicken teriyaki, rice, 2 shrimp tempura, and edamame. We got there just before the 7pm rush. By then there were several groups waiting outside and in front by the hostess. Another good sign. Parking lot fills up but not impossible. I'll be back to try more of Mr Sushi. read more

Basically my stars go to: +1 for the restaurant +1 for the good food +1 for our incredibly cute waitress with braces (yes you) The restaurant is clean, well designed, and well kept. The good food for the night of AYCE was the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore, philly roll, seaweed salad, deluxe crunch roll, valencia roll, baked salmon roll, sex on the beach, and sexy roll. The fish was great, flavors were well, and overall the highlights of the meals. But unfortunately there were quite some downers. It seems every other roll has spicy tuna. seems like the chef's favorite base. the rolls with multiple sauces were just drenched in sauce and way too heavy. The unagi was good at first, but then you realize how thick and chewy the slices are and unagi should not be that thick and chewy. We also were not fans of having the table loaded up all at once, we were in a gaze when 10 plates came out.And lastly, I guess the number you put on the nigiri is the number of orders, not pieces, and each order comes with 2 pieces of fish . . .so 8 orders = 16 pieces at $25+ for AYCE, it's pretty expensive and not really worth it here. I don't know if Mr. Sushi has undergone new management but I had a very different experience than usual on a recent visit here. I arrived with three other people and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait time for a Thursday evening. It wasn't an issue until 30 minutes ended up being close to 50 minutes all because the establishment didn't want to give up a 4 person table... because a party of 7 that was before us would get "upset" if we (a smaller group) got seated first? This made absolutely no sense to any of us. I guess they figured they'd bring two tables together or something, but that never happened. Even after we were seated, that 4 person table was left completely open. We also got a little bit of attitude from our server because of a misunderstanding about the order that was placed. It didn't feel like they were as accommodating as other places would usually be. For example, I ordered a soup that normally contains meat so instead, I asked if it was possible to substitute the meat for half of an egg. They said it wasn't possible and that they would still need to charge for it even if I am requesting them to leave out an item that is normally included. Sorry, I didn't know eggs were so expensive... I'm not too excited about returning anytime soon. read more

By all means I live pretty far from this amazing sushi restaurant but that will not stop me from driving 40 miles one way 1 once a month. Group of 4 of us went here with big appetites and when we sat down, we come to find out they have all you can eat. I have never been to all you can eat sushi place so we gave it a go. The group is able to order as much as sushi along with appetizer and when you get the all you can eat, it comes with different assortment of raman noodle soup. We get our first order and I put the first ray roll in my mouth. Oh My Gosh, the flavors of the fish. The taste of the ray salmon was so exquisite can't be described the rich oil and texture. Then do i dare to try another roll, and even better. The whole night was a grand experience of sushi galore explosion in our mouths. PEOPLE! I can't explain how good the place was. One thing I absolutely lived about this place was that they did not bring one roll at a time. They brought everything you ordered so you don't have to stop the experience and can keep eating. Now to the only negative part which I almost don't like doing but I believe my readers should know. The place is always business and food is non stop coming out. So it gets pretty stuffy almost over whelming with the bbq smoke from the kitchen area. But I think you should be fine once you see the food. Driving through Valencia from Bakersfield, I found this place on Yelp. After reading quite a few reviews, I thought I would check them out. I was sadly disappointed due to the quality of the fish. Maybe it's my fault because I've had some pretty good sushi in Orange County. I ordered the In& Out and Mexican sushi which were pretty much the exact same roll. The cucumber salad was also disappointing. The cucumbers were curated for a little too long and were very soggy. However, the yellowtail collar recommended by others was pretty good and big portion for an appetizer as previously mentioned. The location is located in a shopping center where a Cuban restaurant is a few doors away and a dry cleaning store along with other restaurants. Parking is available but can be limited during busy hours. Outside dinning is available during the current events of Covid. read more
