Husband and I were hoping for a somewhat authentic meal and this was definitely not it. We both ordered the spicy Tonkotsu ramen and also ordered a castaic roll. The ramen was a step above a cup o noodle (spice was there) and the roll had soo much mayo. Was in the mood for sushi driving home from points north. To my knowledge this is the closest sushi ramen restaurant to the 5 freeway which was the only reason I stopped. I was in the mood for Ramen and found the menu had a lot of interesting options I couldn't resist. Ordered: Spicy tonkatsu ramen bowl Kaki fry-deep fried oysters Shrimp har gow Spicy tuna roll Everything was tasty and flavorful...and was captivated enough (with the food) that I forgot to take pics! Generally speaking the food was fairly priced with lots of variety. My biggest complaint is the service, they literally have one person doing everything and when that person is occupied everything else comes to a halt...including my order being placed. During my visit, I was ready to order and that didn't get done until after others were helped. I think I waited 10-15 mins after I was seated until the one server took my order and asked if I wanted something to drink. I understand good help is hard to find but restaurants like Takuma need to figure out the service is also part of the experience. I'm sure I'll find another restaurant (in the greater Santa Clarita area) that cares as much about service as they do food. read more

Came here with my family. All of us enjoyed our meals and thought the food was delicious. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. I also tried the Japanese curry bowl. Both entrees are outstanding. The ramen was better than some I've had in LA. The server is very nice and attentive. He came around to check on us a couple of times and made sure to refill our water cups. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy. The place looks clean and had nice Japanese decorations. I definitely plan to come back. read more

The Pork Chashu Bowl was ok-sauce a bit too salty. I'll stick with the ramen or chicken bowl next time. This place used to be so good. I've been here a few times and typically order the same thing. Today was a full stop. I have no clue what mystery meat was in my ramen, but it was neither beef nor pork. I started to gaslight myself and wondered if it was just my imagination, so I scrolled through old photos. Nope--this was definitely not what I've ordered before. As I write this, feeling nauseated, I can't help but wonder what I actually ate. If consistency is key, this place does not have the key. In the end, I won't be eating here again. Hopefully others have a better experience. read more

Do not recommend!!! been in here two times and both times the customer service was so bad!!! the men were extremely rude! This time the woman working was rude to my fiancé we just asked to use the restroom and look at the menu to see if we wanted to eat there. I've been here twice now and the food doesn't disappoint. Spicy tonkatsu ramen made with pork broth. It's creamy, hints of garlic in every slurp, right amount of chashu pork, and soft boiled egg sprinkled with thins nori strips. They also have xiao long bao and steamed dumplings. The broth in the xiao long bao is delicious. Very authentic taste and fresh. And to finish, I ordered the brown sugar tea boba. Boba is soft and chewy, comes in cute plastic reusable container. We have been wanting to give this place a try since they opened. I've heard only good things. We walked in on a Saturday night, party of 6, and were seated right away. Our waiter came by to take our drink orders and bring us menus. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a kids menu, but we were able to order a few different things and share with the kids. We ordered both ramen and sushi. My husband ordered the spicy ramen and said it was really good. We also ordered 3 different sushi rolls and a chicken ramen to share with the kids. The sushi options were great and very tasty. My only complaint is that the rice wasn't sticky enough, so the rolls fell apart. read more

If you're a woman coming in to dine alone the female waitress they have will act super annoyed at you. She totally just ignored me today for over 10 minutes. I sat at the bar in the middle of the room where she passed and definitely saw me several times, but she wouldn't even bring me a menu. Does Takuma Ramen know they have a sexist waitress who discriminates against women? In the past even when it wasn't busy she acted annoyed that I was there and wouldn't bring me water. I still left her a good tip hoping to change her mind about female customers, but today after being obviously and intentionally ignored I had no choice but to just leave. I love Japanese food and Takuma's other waiters are excellent, but because their female waitress is so extreme and obvious in making women feel unwelcome I have to warn other women. read more

Had to give another review a year later and again 5 stars. My daughter and I had sushi and everything was really fresh and service was fantastic. They have added beer and wine to their menu and it seems expanded the menu with more non fish options. This is great because my husband does not eat fish. We thought about all the restaurants we could go to for our New Year's Eve dinner and decided on our favorite food in town. Absolute right choice! We started with fried oysters with a delicious sauce, spicy garlic edame and seaweed salad. We then had the Castaic roll and the Four Season's roll. We finished with green tea ice cream. Great stuff! My friend got the spicy tonkatsu ramen and the broth was really good. The regular Tonkatsu ramen was what I got. Really good broth and the egg was tasty.
