They check your vehicle out and call with a diagnosis followed by recommendations and the reason for it. It turned out my rear brake were also were close to worn but my rotors were still good. They could've pushed the extra work but they didn't because IT WASN'T NECESSARY! Got a set of brakes and now I'm good at a good price. I had the worst experience with this shop. They absolutely do not stand behind their work. I had my brakes replaced here last year and immediately started having problems--grinding, squeaking, and thumping noises. I brought the car back several times, and each time they just made "adjustments" that never fixed the issue. Eventually, a very loud squealing developed. When I brought it back, they told me the brake caliper had frozen--the same caliper they had replaced just last year. The manager, Phil, admitted the mechanic (who no longer works there) should have replaced the brake line at the same time. But because the issue was one month out of warranty, they refused to take responsibility. Instead, they wanted me to spend another $500-$700 to fix a problem that was caused by their poor workmanship. I even contacted corporate, and they also refused to help--hiding behind the warranty instead of standing by the quality of their service. At this point, I'm taking my car to a trusted shop--even though it's farther away--because I know they'll do the job right and actually stand behind their work. If you value your safety, time, and money, stay away from Mr. Tire. This chain does not care about doing right by its customers. read more

Worse experience ever. Took my car in for an alignment, truck was pulling left and when I picked up my truck it was pulling right EVEN WORSE. Took it back and they said they couldn't fix's it. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I almost got scammed today from the kid with blonde hair working here! I came in for a simple nail repair in my tire (I saw the nail and it was directly in the middle of my tire, a place I knew could be repaired). The kid told me the position of the nail was not repairable and I needed a whole new tire. I asked if they sell used tires, and he said no. I said how much for a new tire and he said $150. This whole situation sounded off to me.. BUT THEN.. he tells me "I'm not suppose to tell you this, but if you want to come back with some cash I'll fix it for you outside of the shop"... basically "off the books". So I realized my tire is repairable then because the kid said it wasn't but then offers to repair it on the side.. I took it to the Berlin farmers market instead and they fixed my tire right on the spot in 5 minutes for $15. I ALMOST GOT SCAMMED OUT OF $150 for a $15 FIX!! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE.. It I could give zero I would. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at an auto shop. The blonde mechanic was extremely rude after he lost my tire valve caps. I didn't realize the caps were missing. My husband called to find out the reason they removed all four when they were only working on two tires they lied and said I did not come in with them on. I found now that my wheel lock is missing. How is a reputable company has such an incompetent dealership. I tried calling for them to find the wheel lock and they are not answering. I tried reaching the head office with no luck. Oh I forgot to mention that my car tire pressure per the side of my door should be 36psi, they pump all four to 40psi. read more

I ordered tires online at TireBuyer.com and brought them here to be mounted after the original mobile installer I booked never showed. The quote I received seemed too good to be true and it turns out I was correct. I agreed to have the work done at the price originally quoted to me. Upon being rung up after they were all mounted the guy at the counter informed me that he messed up and actually had only quoted me for having two mounted but because it was their mistake they would honor the price I was given. Probably would've shopped around more if I was given the proper price originally because I feel like it was a little high but I am glad they honored their original quote. FYI This Mr. Tire location was one of the choices on TireBuyer.com to get them mounted and it seems like you get a better price on mounting by going through that website. I was being lazy and booked mobile install at my home but apparently a glitch in the website is why my appointment was never booked. I ordered from them several years ago for tires on my other vehicle and they shipped directly to the shop and will probably go back to doing that next time I need tires. read more

Called to make a same day appointment. Unfortunately, the lady on the phone (unsure if it was a call center) had terrible reception and we had to consistently repeat what we were hearing to confirm. But she was helpful and booked our appointment for about an hour later and told us the price would be 39.99 for an oil change. show up to the appointment a little later and the store is saying we have to charge you for high mileage because that's what we charged you for last time. Well, I don't want to pay almost $100 for an oil change when I was told the price was going to be $40. I understand that it's not going to be the same oil, but this is what I want to pay for. It's my vehicle. They refused to do my oil change at that price so we walked out. If anything, they should've just had me sign a waiver and provide me service. I definitely wouldn't recommend and I won't be returning. A complete waste of my time to wait on the phone and then drive to the store just to be told we won't do it unless you pay significantly more money. read more

Stay as far away from this place as possible. I took my car there for brake work and tire pressure system maintenance back in November 2019. I had to take it back 3 additional times because the service performed was sub par. The brakes squeal like crazy even though they supposedly replaced the pads and rotors and I still get the tire pressure system warning light on my dashboard. I just wanted at least a partial refund so I could take my car somewhere else to have the work re-done. $1,100 is a lot of money to spend for work that was done incorrectly in the first place and not addressed when taken back multiple times! Came to Mr. Tire for 2 new tires and brakes. My tires were not in their inventory and I was told I just put a deposit down in order for them to order them. I've never had to do this before but I obliged and put a 100 dollar deposit down. After the work was done I paid and got into my car. I got on the road and could not brake. Brakes did not work AT ALL!!! I could have been killed. I also realized that my deposit was not added to the final bill. The store acknowledged this. It is now day 7 and I still have not received the money that this store owes me. In fact the store asked me to try and call corporate in order for me to receive my owed money. After inspection used rotors were placed on my car after paying retail prices for parts that were put on my car from a junk yard. Let me start with ONLY WORK WITH MARCO (service advisor). You will have a good experience here if you start your repairs with him. I will come back in the future, only because of his exceptional service. Other advisor is a snake, tried to up charge past denial, and assigned the wrong service to start. Again MARCO handled everything, gave me complimentary cleaning equipment and was extremely clear and understanding. I have been to this location twice so far. I have never gotten any major work done here. I had a tire fixed here (see previous review) and an alignment most recently. The staff were friendly and helped me right away. I trust Mr Tire more than Jiffy Lube or other quick lube shops. Though I will admit that I don't have any great objective evidence for this. I used to take my car to a shop which was bought by Mr Tire and always had good service there. I "feel" less scammed by Mr Tire than other stores. I've never felt pressured to buy unnecessary services or repairs. My experience was similar at this location. While I was here a woman came in and said she needed a tire repaired. The sales man said it would take awhile for them to get to it because they were busy with customers who just brought their cars in. She subsequently left. I appreciated his honesty even though it meant losing her business. The waiting area is mediocre. The TV uses antennas and often cuts out which makes watching the news nearly impossible at times because the audio cuts out. Some cons: not the cleanest on the inside, entrance to the parking lot is steep and some cars may scrape the asphalt, waiting area could be nicer. read more

My experience with Mr.Tire has been horrible. I've gone there for an oil change twice and each time I've had a major car issue occur within 2 days. Most recently, I went to Mr.Tires for an oil change and within 24 hours my car had an issue. It started running extremely hard and dragging. Then the oil light came on and my car shut off while I was at a red light. That's totally unacceptable. I also checked the oil level on my car and it was fine. I believe they tampered with my vehicle just so I could go back and get other services done to it. I've never had an issue like that with my car before and magically within 24 hours of me getting an oil change a fuel related issue occurs and my car shuts off. Never again. I was trying to find a new shop because my trusted one is all the way up in Edison. Made an appointment to have my car serviced and get 2 new tires. I was told wait 15 minutes and they'll give me an estimate. 45 minutes later i was still waiting. After more than an hour, I was quoted $1500+ for a bunch of additional work. I had them do what needed to be done right now because I didn't have that kind of money. Two hours later I finally got to leave the shop. A week later my check oil light goes off. I took it to my usual place in Edison and he tells me I had a leak because the tech had completely stripped the plug. He fixed that, and did some of the additional work for way less money than what Mr Tire quoted to me. Fine. I wasn't going to complain. But now it's been another 2 weeks and my car starts over-heating- my antifreeze tank is bone-dry, as if it had been drained and never refilled. I put more in, next day it's over-heating again because there's probably yet another leak and now I'm waiting for AAA. It's been nothing but problems since trying out Mr. Tire. Called at 2:30 and spoke to mark the manager to see if they can patch a tire and I was told to come in immediately. Showed up less than 10 minutes later to have to wait almost an hour and half for my service to be done! The manager yawned and coughed relentlessly our whole time there! Decided to take his mask off when customers walked in as well. We had to follow up on our car more than once To be told "I don't know, let me check!" When finally receiving my vehicle my lug nut key was thrown in the passenger side and my tire pressure was lower than when I brought the vehicle in. When asked what we paid for, mechanic got smart and said "to patch a tire!" When making sure the managers name was mark a tech claimed to be Mark and apologize for the crappy service! Really had no care about my complaint and not to mention he lied and claimed to be the manager. This place changed manage my every few months and the service this time was DISGUSTING!!!! I went and got an oil change last Sunday as my mechanic office was close and on Monday I started seeing smoke and smelling fumes burning. I take my van to be checked and that is when I seen all the problems. They broke the bar that holds my hood up and now my hood release don't work, never tightened the oil pan bolt so oil was splashing all over my manifold causing the smoke and smell, and finally there was a plastic piece that goes over the electrical wires just laying on top of the engine. I went here today because they were running a special; download the Mr. Tire app and get a free oil change (all you have to do is pay taxes/fees). I figured, why not? I knew they were going to tell me of any additional issues with my car and wasn't surprised when they called me back to discuss some things. The mechanic told me that I would need new rear brake pads soon (which I am taking care of next week), a new serpentine belt because mine was dry rotted (I ordered it right away on advance auto parts and its being installed tomorrow morning), and a new tire because mine had a chunk of metal on the inner wall. I was concerned about the tire because I didnt want it to pop so I went to my tire guy and had him inspect them with the intentions of buying one. After inspecting BOTH rear tires looking for metal, he found NONE. Both tires were fine and didn't need to be replaced. I'm under the impression that the mechanic told me this "problem" because he wanted me to buy a tire from him and make a sale. I will not be returning here for my mechanical maintenance. read more

Horrible! I did the online registration for a new tire on Tuesday night and screen shotted the confirmation just in case something went wrong. The next morning, Wed, called to confirm, they didn't have my online confirmation for Thursday, my only day off to do this tire, so I make the appointment again, the man confirms the tire, the time, 8:45am, all set. I take my kids to school, walk in, they all look half asleep, place opens at 7:30am, man takes 10 mins on the computer and then says, I can't believe no one called you but we don't have your tire. Well, I flipped out and told the man that it was BS and that it is a horribly run company, this was my only day off. I walked out, pissed. What kind of place doesn't even have your online confirmation, then your tire not ready after your phone confirmation? Wow! No way! The worst. Went to another place, got my tire in 1 hour.
