My muffler needed re attached. I made an appointment, technician looked at my car (10) min. Quoted me for a new muffler over $900. When asked if the muffler could be re attached he said no. I went to a different muffler company and was able to get my repair completed for several hundred dollars less. read more

Very, VERY unhappy with my experience this morning. So I happy that it's caused me to never return. Prior to covid, I went for an alignment that I'm pretty sure they never actually did they just took my money. When I called about it, I was told I'd have to pay again... hadn't been back since then. I got a new car and needed an oil change because I didn't have time to do it myself. Called and told them the car make and model and was told one price. When I got to my appointment, the mechanic decided to put a more expensive oil in my car WITHOUT speaking to me first about it. Came out and gave me a price that was DOUBLE what I was told and said he wouldn't release my car if I didn't pay. called corporate and they confirmed that I'd only ever paid around the original price I was quoted at. This was the same guy I dealt with prior. would give zero stars if I could. read more

Monroe Muffler Brake and Service on Golden Mile Highway in Monroeville is THE WORST CAR SERVICE PLACE! I paid them $400 for new brakes/rotors and it turns out they gave my car a new problem in which they couldn't fix after I brought it back to them 3x! Turns out they overfilled my brake fluid so it was a simple fix however they're too inexperienced and don't care about helping people so they never even fixed the issue THEY CAUSED. (NTB in Monroeville helped me.) The staff was SO rude and argumentative as well. I've never spoke badly about anyone on the internet so the fact I wrote this review should say something about them... Please save your money, time, and sanity and go somewhere else where you will be respected as a customer. Ps. I'm not sure why my review says I'm from CA?? Do not use the Monro Auto Service on Mt Lebanon Blvd in Castle Shannon/Mt Lebanon PA. They do not have a clue what they are doing and they replace Original Equipment Manufactures parts with aftermarket parts that are not compatible, however they charge you for the factory item. I have used this location several times for various levels of repairs and have never been disappointed. Their prices are fair and the staff is always friendly and honest. I have never felt like I was trying to up sell unnecessarily, which is a tactic commonly used in similar shops. The manager fixed my car A/C within minutes! After I refused the Nissan dealership's $150 diagnostic fee, I mentioned to my neighbor that my car's air conditioning didn't work. He recommended I go to Monro on Golden Mile Highway and speak to the manager. I did just that and they scheduled me that same day! The manager added freon and that was it, problem solved. He's pretty awesome! He's a really great guy that provides excellent service. They're fast, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Monro Muffler on Rte. 286 and I will definitely be a loyal customer as long as I live near Monroeville. Don't take your vehicle anywhere else. Don't make the mistake of getting ripped off by dealerships. The guys at Monro are honest, up-front, polite and very hard working. They're the best! read more

I work across the street so this Munro is convenient. But I wouldn't go there unless they were good, too. I've let them handle all my car maintenance since i was new and they have never let me down. A month ago, the car was bouncing too much over pot holes. I thought shocks or struts. One of their mechanics said strut. But they waited until the afternoon to replace it to get a second opinion from a more experienced mechanic. they didn't want to waste my money. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. If I could give negative stars, I would. Absolutely dreadful experience with Monro. On Saturday, I was driving and the power to the dashboard died. The speedometer, gas meter, clock - everything stopped working. I turned the car off, and the lights stayed on. I took it to Monro because it was nearby my home. I had to follow-up to find out what was wrong. I went to pick the car up. I was told I would have to take it to Chevy. I paid and the mechanic couldn't get the car started. He wanted to keep it longer to try to fix it. He said he needed to see the problem in action to know what to do. I called back an hour later because he never called me. He said they figured out the problem, and with my okay, it would be fixed in ten minutes. I agreed. Had I not called I could have never known they had found the problem. I was driving on Wednesday, and the power to the dashboard died again after Monro had told me they fixed it. I took it directly to Monro. The assistant manager (apparently he is either assistant manager or manager) said he couldn't get to it until Thursday. My daylights would not turn off, and he promised to disconnect the battery so as not to run it down. Before he told me that, however, he told me the car was SAFE to drive. SAFE to drive with no speedometer to tell me how fast I'm going. He'd also said that on Saturday, so warning bells should have rung for me then. I drove back to Monro at 9 p.m. to pick something out of the car and the lights were very visibly shining from the road. I popped the trunk and disconnected the battery myself, something I had never done before and should not have to have done. No one called me Thursday. I called in the morning. I was told they would be looking at it shortly. I called two hours later when I heard nothing. The car wouldn't start. They would keep trying until the end of the day, I was told. They had no idea had to fix whatever was wrong. When I came back to Monro to get the car towed, the car was sitting in the same place. I really question whether they did anything to try to fix it. My car is now waiting to be serviced at Day Chevrolet. Monro is a rip-off. They charge an outrageous amount - the problem reoccurred not four days later. They didn't fix it. They just charged an insane amount and cost me just as much in time. If you want to use Monro, be proactive. You have to chase them down for updates. They show little interest or care, and I will NEVER go back there again. If they were the last car place on earth, I would teach myself how to repair cars or I'd just learn to walk everything. read more

Paid $600 for "Lifetime Brakes" on the front of my car. They lasted 6 months. Went back to have the front brakes checked because the rotors were warped and the car wouldn't stop properly. The manager, Tom, gave me an estimate for another $250 to replace the rotors, Seems the rotors aren't covered under the "lifetime brakes". Problem is this place uses cheap refurbished parts and charges the customer top-of-the-line prices. A rotor anywhere else would cost $45 ea. At this Monro, a rotor costs $110 ea. Why? Because they use bait and switch to make a huge profit off of the unsuspecting.customer. I'll never darken their door again. What a rip off. If you have a friend that you want to get rid of, send them to the Monro Muffler on the Golden Mile Highway. Don't worry, that friend will never speak to you again. read more

Lie about price of oil change on side of road. (Advertised as 12.99 but then charge 14.99 plus disposal fees) Still cheap, but why lie about it? Then once they get you through the door they try to up sell you and tell you that you need all kinds of stuff that really doesn't need done to the car. It's not just this location...all the monroe`s try to pull this crap from my experience. Typical poor experience and why mechanics are looked at the same as used car salesmen nowadays. read more
