Last week I got a flat tire on I-83 South about eight miles from the MD border on my way home near Ellicott City, MD. I was able to change my tire but I was concerned that there was enough air pressure in the Donut Tire so I got off at the Shrewsbury exit looking for a Gas Station to check the tire. Fortunately, I spotted "Mr Tire" on the Billboard for the little shopping Center. The folks there were very helpful. They were very busy and said it may take an hour to an hour and a half to get to me but that they could take care of me. I was very wary of driving on the Donut Tire and anticipated that I may need to get a new tire. Eventually, they got to me and said I didn't need a new tire, they could fix (plug) my flat tire and it should be fine. After they finished with my car they handed me the keys and said You're all set. No Charge, because you waited patiently for so long. WOW. Thank You ALL Very MUCH. I was relieved that I did not have to drive on the Donut tire for about 60 miles on Interstate highways. My drive home was uneventful and the repaired tire is working fine. Thanks Again. read more

Do not schedule with this location unless you like canceled appointments. I had scheduled an oil change and live about 45 minutes away from this location so I had to leave fairly early before my scheduled time. As I was at the intersection to drive into the location they called and canceled my appointment. I went into the shop and spoke with the attendant who said that they were "too backed up" and that he could probably fit me in if I left my vehicle. Seeing as I was not planning to do this I declined due to not having transportation back. He then said that they would not fit me in on Sunday or Monday and that he was "Wide open Tuesday" and I scheduled for then. I had a change in my plans for Tuesday so I called to cancel like any normal human being and guess what! I wasn't even scheduled for Tuesday! DO NOT come to this location. Overall terrible experience. We needed one tire replaced. Should've been simple. They kept telling us that the car was on the lift but when we finally drove to the business (after 3 days) our car was parked in the lot UNLOCKED with the nail still in the tire. Well they had lost the key fob which after several days they admitted to. They never offered us a rebate on the inconvenience of taking the car to the dealer to have the fob replaced. (They did cover the replacement). Also, they kept us on hold when we kept trying to reach them and we were disconnected so we needed to drive to the business. read more

If I could I would give zero stars. Made an appointment for inspection. Dropped the car off at 2 and they needed the registration printed said they could. It accept it via email. No problem. Went home printed it and came back. Said vehicle should be done by end of day. End of day came and went and still not done. Finally at noon the next day called to check. Was told the registration was too blurry and needed to be emailed to them. Interesting. Ok. So I emailed it. Said it would be done shortly. Called back at 3 and they stated it was still not done as they couldn't start until they received the registration. Meaning they never even looked at it until noon the next day! Cakes back at 5:30 at this point I'm quite irritated and was told it still needed to be looked at. Surprisingly received a call back in 5 minutes stating multiple things needed done. Griff was extremely unprofessional and said "well it's not my fault you have an expired registration". First not only is this rude and disrespectful it's also inaccurate. It was not expired. Mr. Tire in Shrewsbury, PA is an absolute joke! My husband had an appointment for an alignment for 6:30 p.m. last night. He was in the car DRIVING to that appointment when he received a call from Mr. Tire that the technician had gone home for the day and told my husband he'd have to reschedule. That was frustrating, but we understand that emergencies happen. He then made another (earlier) appointment for today, hoping to salvage the evening. He arrived on time for his 3:30 appointment, and then waited and sat for awhile, and even left and got a haircut, only to find that the car hadn't been touched at 5:00 p.m.! UNACCEPTABLE!! On top of that, they completed the alignment, but, "Didn't have time to balance the tires," which we had already paid for!!! So to get our money's worth (Groupon), he now has to make another appointment?? Went in to replace rear brakes, and check and replace front brakes brakes as needed, and to purchase tires and get an alignment. Selected the tires, made an appointment for 9:00 Friday. Asked them to keep the best of the old tires to make it the spare. Came in on Friday at the appointed time. Asked how long it would be. A couple of hours the man said. Left the car there. Around 4:00 I called to see what's what. Hadn't started it. Will it be done today? Yes, come in at 7:00 pm. Came in at 7:00. Rear brakes were done, tires were on the car. Hadn't looked at the front brakes. Alignment wasn't done. Did they keep the best of the old tires for a spare? Yes. They said they did and put it in the back of the car. They were sorry for the delay and the oversights and would look at the front brakes and give me the alignment for free at another appointment for Monday at 9:00. When I drove the car home, I saw that they did put the best of the old tires in the back of the car, but not on the spare rim, just threw in in the back rimless. I also noticed a shimmy at highway speeds. Did they balance the tires right I wondered? Monday came and I returned to drop it off again at 9:00. I was there for the free alignment, check and fix (replace as needed) the front brakes, check the shimmy and put the spare tire on my spare rim. Oh, check that yellow tire warning light that is on too - not enough air in the tires? Faulty sensor or what? No call throughout the day. 5:00 after work I came to get the car. It hadn't been touched. Parked in the same place I left it. Nothing done. No front brake check/fix. No alignment. Spare still sitting in the back rimless. No balance check. No warning light check. Things didn't go as expected that day he said. Sorry he said. That's it. No effort to make anything right. He didn't even try to reschedule and give me some kind of discount for the inconvenience. Tell the guy behind the counter that im going to walk around the local stores while its being done. Come back an hour and a half later and my truck hasn't moved. Mr.Tire in Shrewsbury, PA is nothing but a hilarious joke. I scheduled an appointment online to have 4 brand new tires put on two weeks ago for today July 26, 2025 at 8am. I show up at around 7:30am and I am standing at the door waiting for the person to unlock the door and he unlocks it looks at me through the glass and walks away instead of opening the door. I walk in and say I'm here for an appointment and give the last name just to be told that the tires i scheduled the appointment with were not in stock. I asked what he meant when he said they didn't have the tires and he responded with " that's between you and corporate and that is above my pay grade". so knowing I need tires because I'm driving around on a spare , I asked what tires they did have in stock and went with those. I was told that my wait would be roughly 2 hrs, no big deal I'll wait. then about 20 minutes later I receive a call from Mr.Tire telling me that my services could not be completed today due to the technician calling out. so you mean to tell me you have only one technician working??? This is absurd and I will not be using Mr. Tire ever again. I also tried to call the corporate number and the person picked up and hung up on me. I'm also not sure who was the gentlemen I interacted with because he was not wearing a name tag nor did he tell me his name. I think Mr. Tire in general is going down hill. Feel free to keep reading but quick story is I am currently trying to figure out how to get the state of PA involved because of the issues I have with this shop. I've never had to do it before as I was truly amazed how bad the service and repairs were. there used to be a gentleman named Mike who ran the place but they moved him and since a guy named Griff took over it has been really awful. I brought my car in for an oil change and to run a test for my check engine light. I was able to drive the car into the shop. Griff and his team found the code and said it's something they cannot do but that we're was something else they thoght they could fix. They went on an exploration taking the belt off the engine and ended up breaking it where it was not drivable. They refused to pay for a tow or for any of the damage they created and told me to just use my insurance. I told them my car was drivable on the way in and now is not after they messed it up. Volvo told me the issue as not pressing and the car would have no issues if I drove it for a few days. Griff and his team not only didn't fix the problem but they also created a second problem which I had to take to another shop and now having to pay out of pocket for the fix. Please consider going elsewhere for anything with your car. The precious guy, Mike, earned my business for the past 8 years but the new guy who replaced him didn't care on but about working with me to make the situation right so I will never step foot in that place again. read more

I took my car in for inspection and got it back with the front end being damaged from a collision. The mechanical and store manager denied everything and said it was that way when they got the car. The paint matched the steel channels by the door and the dent would match the corner of the channel. I also caught the store manager in a lie about my brakes being worn out. Dishonest. I am positive I got ripped off. Read other reviews saying the same thing. My daughter took a tire here for a small slow leak puncture in the tread. After the repair, She drove *LESS THAN a mile* and the tire was flat, this time with a very suspicious hole in the side wall, that certainly was NOT there before. I was forced to get a new tire. I feel this place saw a young lady and decided to completely rip her off. When I returned and was highly skeptical that a just repaired tire was already completely ruined as soon as it was off the lot, they tried to tell me that this happens all the time. Yea, right. I have been a customer here for some time but never again. I own a Chevy Equinox that threw a check engine light at me earlier this week. I took it right to them as they had changed oil recently as well as sold me tires. They immediately requested that I pay them $153 before even looking at the light much less checking the code. Wow I said no thank you. I am forever in the debt of the automotive place that had inspected my vehicle back in November because that is where I went next. They informed me that the gas cap had been improperly replaced at my last fill up and cleared the code. NO CHARGE! I am a senior citizen on a very fixed income and physically handicapped. Shame on you Mr Tire, I will never return. You have lost a good customer and hopefully will loose more if they read this review. You people are not honest! read more

We invested in new tires for my Land Rover before a 9 hour drive for vacation. Mr. Tire did not fully screw in the new valve stems that we purchased, causing us to have a blow out on the side of the road in heavy traffic a few hours into our drive. Not only did the technician fail to properly install this crucial part of all 4 tires, there was no inspection by anyone else to catch this potentially fatal error. This is a major safety issue and could have caused a horrific accident had we been going at highway speeds and not driving in heavy traffic. With our toddler in the car, we were lucky. We called Mr. Tire to ask for assistance on where the nearest location was so we could get a replacement, and they told me to call the main Monro (parent company) for help, but they were not open yet. I called Mr. Tire back and they told me to head in the opposite direction to a sister location and that my size tires were in stock. After my husband removed all of our luggage on the side of 1-95 to get the spare and change the tire, we started driving to the closest Mr. Tire (opposite direction and hours into our trip). I called the shop we were headed to and they informed me that no Mr. Tire location carries my size tires because they are special order. The shop we originally went to knew this because they had to special order my tires, but sent us on our way to a random Mr. Tire anyway. Complete lack of caring and respect for our time. After calling 5-6 other shops, we headed to Land Rover Richmond and they were able to squeeze us in, but it added 3 hours onto our trip. Land Rover was SHOCKED that ALL 4 TIRES' valve stems were "HANGING ON BY A THREAD". They documented their findings and told us we were very lucky. With a toddler in the car, we had to spend the night in Richmond and miss my parent's anniversary party. We called customer service when we returned from vacation and they were not apologetic at all. In fact, they were extremely rude and abrupt. Monro's insurance company reimbursed us for the expenses we incurred at the Land Rover dealership, but customer service did not offer us anything else to reimburse us for our ruined trip, hotel expenses, lost time at our vacation rental, lost day of vacation, etc. The customer service rep and manager both said that we had been "made whole - whatchu want from us?". Although they paid the Land Rover expenses, that simply put us at the same cost as a normal customer who got what they paid for without any issues. I would have been satisfied if they had been apologetic or understood the severity of the issue, but the customer service department was just plain ignorant. After seeing the prices at the dealership, they weren't much higher than Mr. Tire and they have MUCH better quality and service. Save yourself a headache and possibly your life by going to the dealership and avoiding Mr. Tire at all costs. read more

Save yourself the trouble and buy your tires elsewhere. This place doesn't honor their warranties and their service is slow. I drive a lot of miles so I buy tires with higher mileage warranties read expensive. I got a set of tires here with a 70000 mile warranty. The tread got a bulge after 30000 miles so I went back but apparently you need to pay extra for the road hazard warranty despite their all inclusive pricing. read more

I used to go here for all of my wheel balancing, alignments, and inspections. The customer service has always been honest and friendly and the service was quick and well done. Until the last time I was in. I scheduled my mount and balance appointment for 4:30 and dropped it off on time. There were a couple people waiting so I figured it would take a little while. All of those people left, new people came in, and left. All in all it took over 2 hours to have 4 tires mounted and balanced; but whatever, I do my own work on most of my vehicles and I understand that things can take a longer time than they should. I pay the quoted price and leave pretty happy. Fast forward a few thousand miles. My brand new brakes are warped. Not just uneven brake deposit "warped"; actually heat warped. It turns out one of the wheels had the lug nuts waaaay over torqued; my vehicle spec is about 60-70FT Lbs, these were over 100FT-Lbs. Not only that, two of the over-torqued lug nuts were probably 50FT-Lbs tighter than the rest, which is the worst thing you can do when torquing lug nuts. I'm used to lug nuts being tough to get off after seeing heating and cooling but these were so tight they ate into my wheels and compressed the nut shoulder. It was like one tech put three wheels on with a torque stick and another tech put this wheel on by railing on it with an impact turned all the way up. So now I will be replacing two rotors and finding a new shop. I doubt I'd get anywhere asking them to replace them because it's been over a month and I can't prove that nobody else has touched the wheels. read more

Blew out a tire. Was quoted $171 for new tire and to mount it. Was also told my brake pads and rear right needed replaced and the right rear caliper was locked up. I declined the brake issues. After about 30 minutes my jeep is ready. The total is now $283. I said I was quoted $171. The man claims to have misspoke. I honestly feel like they jacked up the price since not only did I hear him say $171, that's what was also written down on the estimate paper, that disappeared. read more

I had gotten a flat tire earlier today, I was running on my spare. Unfortunately I go to classes all throughout the day and was unable to get my tire changed at 4 other places. I'm a direct service provider and have to go up to Lebanon. My spare wouldn't have made it that far. Stressed as I was, with all hope gone, I called Mr.Tire. I was all the way in York and it was about 7:30. I called and they were so nice enough to let me come here and get my flat tire patched. When checking it out, they told me they couldn't patch my tire but they could replace it. I need all of my tires changed but was only going to get the one since it was so late. They offered to fix all of it up and change my windshield wipers as well. They were so so so so so so nice and polite. I 11/10 recommend going to this shop. read more

They also said I needed my brakes replaced and quoted me $700 for that. I said no and took it to my regular mechanic who said the brakes have another 15k on them and the tire was fine but the tire sensor was leaking air. Left my trusted mechanic with a $90 fix. I had a 12:00 noon appointment for a simple oil change, waited over an hour and still my vehicle had not been pulled in. When I inquired about the excessive wait the counter clerk said they had a lot of "stuff" going on and would get me in shortly. What's the point in having appointments if they can't be honored? Also, the guy said sorry about that "Bub" as I was leaving which was the second time he called me that during the transaction. It is an insult to call a customer by anything but their name, sir, or ma'am, and employees should be trained accordingly. Very disappointed. Purchased tires online and when I dropped off the vehicle, they had added $200 for road hazard and lifetime balancing. They are in the habit of adding charges without asking the customer in advance. Fees don't match the pricing on their website. Staff is rude and run behind scheduled appointments.
