We drove to Monro and even though it was so busy Kevin got us in right away and saved the day. The customer service was great, and they fixed our air conditioning in less than an hour! I can drop in for minor things , never have to wait, he is friendly, helpful, doesn't try to sell me things that I do not need and he is just an all around good guy. I stopped in this morning because my car had a low tire pressure light that came on, he told me to swing my car over and I was done within minutes! My fuel pump had gone out and they gave me the number of a guy to pick up my truck and dropped it off at the shop. From there they gave me a fair price and worked on my vehicle quickly. I'm super happy with all of it. They also checked all my brakes and fluids for free and a thorough check on my truck! I will definitely be going back! read more

I went in to get 3 new tires put on my car and when it was finished getting serviced one of my sensors was out. When I asked about this, they told me it would go away in a few days. A week goes by and the sensor light doesn't go out so I call and they said they would order me a new sensor. I also took it in to get my Pa state inspection done and my car passed of course. The day after I had my inspection done, the same tire the sensor was out on went complexly flat. I went back to the location for a new tire and i was ordered a new one and told I had an appointment for yesterday which was today. I got there and was told there was no appointment made for me... I was there about 2 hours before they put my new tire on. I asked about my sensor when I was there and was brushed off for another customer and they told me they would give me a call. Never got a call. Will never use Monro again! Terrible service! read more

They were able to get me in for state inspection in a timely manner. Only complaint is the $7.18 "Shop supply fee" they charge. No mention of this when I called to make an appt or when I checked out. Only saw it on the bill after I left. read more

I am marking them a-ok. Monro is a tricky one because everyone I have ever been to has been a completely different experience. The one in Harrisburg off Eisenhower gave my mother's car back with a flat (she went in for a oil change) and I have had so-so service in the past. This one on Queen Street really helped me out today though. I woke up to find a completely flat tire, seems I got a rather large nail stuck in it on the ride home yesterday. So I called Monro around 6pm and they said bring it on down if you can before we close. So I put the donut on and went over. They were already outside waiting on me, took the tire and in less than 10 minutes it was ready and they even offered to put it back on. I was out of there with a good tire and my spare put back neatly in my trunk. Really polite, friendly service from the owner and very reasonably priced. read more

I used to love this place. It's close to my house and the guys that work there had always been polite and didn't treat me like many places treat women, and they seemed trustworthy and honest. Back in the fall, they did a service (I think it was rear brakes) and a few days later I was driving home from Baltimore and started hearing a horrible noise coming from my car. I pulled into the nearest gas station and called AAA to tow me home. The next morning I took the car back to them and they found that "a bolt backed out on the calipers." I overheard them saying something that sounded like someone didn't do their job properly by double checking that the bolt was properly in place. They gave me a card for a free oil change and told me if I brought the receipt from my tow that they would submit to corporate for reimbursement. I decided to give them one more shot and went in for my next (free) oil change in November, towing receipt in hand. Between then and my next oil change, my car began leaking tons of oil. I took it elsewhere for an oil change in late December and was told there was a major oil leak. Since that December oil change, there's been no leaks and I'm pretty convinced that during my free oil change, something wasn't properly tightened, causing the oil leak and given that I drive 100+ miles a day, was one of the main reasons I bought a new car sooner than I had expected to. Perhaps it was just a series of coincidences, but, my new car won't be going to this or any Monro anytime soon! Oh, and I got a check last week from corporate for my tow reimbursement, so at least they came through on that front. read more

The guys that work here are some of the most friendly, up front people in the business. And it starts up front with Brandon (or maybe it's Brendan)... he is very nice and an easy person to deal with. You can be assured with this place that you aren't getting bamboozled when it comes to suggesting you buy this or that unnecessary part. I'm a big fan of this place. Needless to say, they have my families business. Edit: a few months went by and I was due for an inspection. They continued their business practice of being approachable/friendly at the desk, honest and solid workers. I appreciate this place even more after going through garage after garage that all they wanted to do was push parts on me as if I didn't know about vehicles. You'll never feel like these guys are trying to pull a fast one on you. Absolutely Amazing!! I called in and asked if they could remove my heat shield since it was rattling and they checked if it was the Heat shield and removed it free of charge right away! I went here because I was long overdue for an oil change. I made an appointment, gave the man my keys, and waited. Ten minutes later, he appears and tells me he cannot do my oil change because-get this- my engine is FALLING APART. He said if he did the oil change and my engine "blew up," I could hold him accountable. When I said I would have my husband pick me up, this idiot proceeds to tell me that I can still drive the car but the engine may blow up today, tomorrow, or in a year. Well, that makes complete sense. After nearly having a mental breakdown, I took my car to my normal mechanic, and, low and behold, my engine is definitely not falling apart. After the first time I don't go anywhere else for maintenance or repairs for both of out Toyotas. I usually make an appointment for service. I have used this place multiple times before for oil changes and inspections without a problem. Very fast and curtious service. This time I went in with what we thought would be a simple belt problem. Turns out my vehicle needs a new water pump. The guys there told me I couldn't drive home (to go then take it somewhere else), and that it would cost over $500 to fix. I told them to do the work because I thought I had no choice. Upon leaving, and making two quick calls I find out the water pump is available at Advanced Auto for around $50... Monroe was charging me over $160. I called back within 15 minutes of leaving to ask them to stop any work. They told me they already removed the pump and could not put it back on. (another lie). How they got it off that fast and were going to charge me for 2 1/2 hours of work, I don't know. I got my car out of there asap. They take advantage of people who are uneducated to auto repair. Then lie to cover it up. I will never go back. read more

It is rare to find an auto shop that you can trust and I wanted to give Monro on Queen St their due. I have been taking my vehicle there for the past 3 years and they consistently provide quick and competent service. I have, on multiple occasions, asked them to check over my vehicle for items requiring repair, replacement, etc just to keep it in top running condition - essentially giving them free reign to bill for anything they might "find", real or not - I'm no mechanic. Without fail, every time there was nothing. No "you need a new air filter" or "those brakes are looking thin" or "you need to flush out that fluid", etc. Great, honest work up there. read more

If I could give zero stars in this instance I would, I went in for a simple oil change that I had scheduled a few days before for 10:00 AM. I'm a person who tries to be regularly on time if not a little early and arrived promptly at 9:50 I went in and gave my keys over expecting to be able to leave within 40 minutes to an hour (they were pretty busy and I'm an understanding person on such matters). Not only did I sit there for not one not two but two and a half hours before a single word was even said to me. Which in the mean time I saw other people come in for repairs and leave with their cars serviced. When I was finally approached about my car the news I was given was regarding an issue with my rear suspension and that they could not legally permit me to leave the lot (legalities and all I understand). They told me it would be expensive to fix and they couldn't possibly do it until sometime late the next week. I said thanks but no thanks paid for the oil change (which they didn't even bother to give a sticker to remind me for the next oil change) and had my car towed to my normal mechanic. I had been trying to stop in for a quick oil change when I knew my regular mechanic wouldn't have the chance to get to it right away. Never again will I go to or recommend this place. read more

I went in today for a oil change and inspection and was greeted (if you can call it that) by Terry, the surliest person I have ever encountered. He seemed totally uninterested in speaking to me, despite the fact that I was about to pay him way too much money for service to my car (although he did agree to service my car despite the fact that there was a mix-up with the appointments). After a couple of hours he called me with the news that my car would need new break pads (around $800) in order to pass inspection. When I told him that I had just been to an out-of-state mechanic the week before and paid quite a bit of money for a car makeover, and that the other mechanic told me the break pads were fine, Terry said, bluntly, "well, he lied" and continued the conversation in as rude a manner. I told him to forget the inspection -- I am taking it to another mechanic who is more respectful to his customers. And I don't think I'll be back -- despite the fact that I live just down the street from this place. read more
