Big Chocolate twist
Heidi M.

During American Graffiti weekend my husband and I discovered this amazing 24 hour donut shop. It has great selection, reasonable prices, and it is immaculate. You can actually watch them making the donuts as you order. We ordered a large chocolate twist, a blueberry fritter, and an orange cake donut with coffee. Total cost under ten dollars. All were delicious. The service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely return next time we are in Modesto. No wonder this place has been around so long and won so many awards! Highly recommend!!

Oreo donut and Bavarian cream donut

A wide variety of flavors and different types of donuts served hot and fresh. Came here on a Friday afternoon and the place was buzzing! Lot's of people were ordering donuts by the dozens. I had two. The fried oreo donut and a Bavarian cream. Both yummy, moist, fluffy and full of flavor. Polite and quick service. Casual place with a few small tables inside. Menu offered unique donut flavors, fritters, donut bars, and light beverages and coffee.

Was craving donuts late at night and stumbled upon Mr. T's on my search for donuts. Made the drive out to go get some, and man they did not disappoint one bit. I was first taken back by the variety of donuts they have. So many flavors I've never seen or thought of. I couldn't decide on what to get so I ended up buying a dozen and a half donuts. Mind you, I was 39 weeks pregnant at the time and baby needed these donuts before making his arrival. The fact that they are open 24/7 was incredible to me. Since moving out here to the valley, I have yet found a donut shop I liked and that was good. But I now did and I will definitely make the drive anytime of day for these donuts! Every donut I tried was delicious!! I'm already wanting to go get some more now ! This will now be a forever staple for my family to go get donuts at.

What a delightful little place! Located in a very cute shopping center, a clean and welcoming inside and the most delicious selection of donuts of every kind! We got several, but sorry to say I didn't snap a photo in time and they were eaten quickly! We can't wait to visit again. Definitely a favorite donut shop!

My blueberry filled donut after biting off all of the unfilled parts of the donut. 1/6 of the donut filled.

I decided to give this place another shot and came at an odd time; 4PM. I got a couple of fritters, banana and blueberry, and a couple other blueberry donut options. They were fantastic! The oil was clean this time and I experienced no indigestion. The maple glazed cinnamon roll donut was to die for! It may not be the best maple glaze I've had at a donut shop, but the soft cinnamon center of that donut was top tier. Service was fast and efficient, but nothing really to write home about. It was an a quick, concise transaction. I'm glad I gave it another go and will be back when I'm in the area.

What's funny as heck is I'm a diabetic so I don't eat donuts however I picked up donuts here for workers that I was visiting in Modesto. They love this place now I know why I stood in line for 20 minutes to get donuts some of the best donuts around, and yeah, I did sneak a bite.

I just love Mr T's and is already my go to but they really outdid theirselves today. I was looking for the pink Homer Simpson type of donut for my son's bday and they didn't have any but offered to make me one special for him. I returned in a hr a happy customer and I know my son will be happy too. Thank you for your amazing service

Not a Donut guy. But man! these were tasty. I'm old school cake donut dude no frosting or glaze, straight fried dough. The ones here are like the ones I remember from the 60's and 70's just a hint of sweetness and vanilla. That donut and a black coffee is peace. The other ones I tried were just as delicious. Open all the time! Last words...I pity the fool for not stopping here.

Absolutely delicious donuts. Only donuts and coffee though. I will have to say they were very fresh even later in the morning. The person taking our order was friendly and was patient while we made our decision.

Inedible but still look so good. $20 down the drain.
Stacey B.

I just bought a dozen donuts and they are inedible. The taste of grease is overwhelming. I called to let them know because they are usually the best. I've gotten donuts from Mr T's for over 40 years and NEVER had any issue. The man who answered the phone just said "ok they must have fried too long." I said "ok I have to throw them out." He replied, "ok." The man who answered the phone after the 3rd try had no cares that their product was bad. He only said "ok" to everything that I told him. This makes me never want to go there again. The prices are outrageous now too. I heard that Sandy's on coffee and Orangeburg is better so I'm going to try there next time.

Really this place needs no reviews once you go in the aromatic smell of fresh, sweet and warm donuts in the air as you walk in are the best! My favorite is the banana fritters and the maple bar. But really everything is so delicious you can't go wrong. When you have that craving go here it's worth the drive I promise!

The donuts are delicious, great selection at 12 noon freshly made. Cinnamon rolls almost as big as my hand.

New to the area and so glad I found Mr T's Donut! The donuts are fresh, soft, and full of flavor, and there's a great variety to choose from. The shop is clean, the service is friendly, and being open 24/7 makes it super convenient. Definitely my new go-to donut spot. Highly recommend!

Overpriced $2.00 bueberry cake doughnit. Not worth the $2.00. Stay away from here until they see that people won't stand for overpricing.

I didn't hear back for a day or two, but they eventually returned my call and were able to accommodate my request. I had a few specific details in mind--my daughter wanted a chocolate mousse cake, she loves bows, and her favorite color is white. They absolutely delivered! As you can see in the photos, they executed exactly what I envisioned. The cake tasted delicious, the portions were very generous, and the pricing was reasonable for the quality and size. My only suggestion would be sending a pickup reminder. Between mom life and work life, things can get hectic, and a courtesy notification that the cake was ready would've been helpful. They also had a limited selection of birthday candles. Overall, I'm really happy with how everything turned out. They were able to bring my vision to life, and I would definitely order from them again for future celebrations.

There were limited quantities of each so I'm not sure if they have more things on the weekends, which would totally make sense for a local small business on a random Tuesday. Parking is easy once you find it and although the inside is very small there are a few chairs and cafe tables perfect for a duo. Nonetheless, we left with a good haul and got one of almost everything: Red velvet slice, Carrot cake slice, Chocolate Mousse slice, Chocolate brownie, and Lemon bar. They also had a sheet cake, a small pack of cupcakes and cake pops in a separate case, so I wasn't sure if those were preorders or display or available for purchase. Here's what I loved: THE BROWNIE. One of the best I've ever had! The lemon bar was also delicious, super tart and perfectly baked. I'd get either of those again! Customer service was very friendly, prices were clearly displayed and fair, and the portions were good sizes. Here's what I just liked: The cake part of the red velvet, mousse, and carrot cake was a bit dry. They were beautifully decorated, the frosting and fillings were great, but the cake itself just wasn't as soft and moist as I was hoping. Another Yelper mentioned sticking the cake in the microwave and I wish I would have tried that. Definitely a small business worth supporting!

Upon entering, I was struck by three things, how friendly the worker was, how hard the door was to open (I do have mobility issues on occasion), and how little there was on display to choose from. Still, I found a couple of nice items (red velvet and some serious chocolate cake) my wife loved the chocolate but we found the red velvet to be quite dry and hard. I suspect that it had been in the case far too long. Fortunately the chocolate was so good, my wife said that it more than made up for it. Overall, the ambiance was simple bakery, nice folks, serving well. I suspect where these nice folks shine is in pre-orders (which makes TOTAL sense, as foot traffic, particularly in this bakery's location would be a tough sell indeed). I suspect that we will be keeping Dessert European Cakes and Pastries in mind for our upcoming bakery needs.

However, if your not local and purchase from the vendors in the bay area, then your prone to the time it sat at the bakery, travel time to bay area and how long it's been sitting on the shelve before you bought it. Did that! the product went bad the next day! We happen to be in town and stopped by. This was our opportunity to visit for awhile because we moved from Modesto to the bay area and we always bought here when we were local. We requested pandesal on the rack. I wouldn't think that be a problem if a customer requested that versus that already packaged, mind you that it's not every customers expectation, so do it. I'm a Manager in Customer Service so this was the test because the last visit a while back was off and about the same with the same exact aura on the front-end and I just thought maybe it was that one day. There was asian woman and white woman at the front counter. The white woman approached and we requested. Then for some reason the asian woman responded with this attitude that it was fresh and brought out. I could tell she got irritated because she disappeared to the back and never seen. The white woman rung us up, but then you can tell she was brushed off with the same attitude of the asian woman and she rung us up so quickly to get us out. This was similar to our last visit from a year ago and I still remember that visit! Ambiance is great on the first minute before you enter with the aroma, but once you make contact at the front counter and make requests. Good luck! The 3 stars here is strictly the hopia and pandesal we bought that were amazing. The customer service was deteriorated by 2 stars. Just want to make that clear!

I even told them I don't like buttercream because it's too sweet and that I didn't want it anywhere on this cake. When I placed the order, they asked if they could add a little buttercream to the outside for texture. I said okay, but only a tiny bit mixed with the whipped cream. What showed up was all buttercream on the outside with zero whipped cream. When I asked about it, they told me it was whipped cream. I know what I'm tasting, and so did my guests. It was definitely buttercream. The inside was even worse. There was some ganache but barely any. The further we cut into the cake, the more buttercream we found. I did not want buttercream inside the cake at all. I barely agreed to a little on the outside and they didn't even respect that. The photos show it clearly. The further we cut, the messier and more uneven it got with just buttercream and buttercream. One slice had a thin layer of ganache with barely any pecans or caramel. Everything else was buttercream. I picked this bakery because I had a good experience with them the first time. The design looked nice, but the cake itself was really disappointing. Way too sweet from all that buttercream I specifically said I didn't want. I gave them detailed feedback with photos. Instead of owning up to it, the decorator got defensive. He said he used buttercream as glue to hold the cake together. But that doesn't make sense. If ganache worked fine as glue on my first order with them (which had no buttercream inside at all), why couldn't he do the same thing this time? He just chose to use a lot of buttercream instead of actually following what I asked for. I even sent more photos pointing out exactly where the problem was. But they still insisted it was whipped cream. My guests noticed it too. So are they lying? Management offered me a 10% discount on my next order. That doesn't help. I paid for a cake that didn't meet what I asked for and it ruined my event. I asked for a 50% refund which seemed fair. They read the message but never answered. Just complete silence. If a bakery is going to charge premium prices for custom cakes, you need to actually follow what the customer asks for. I was crystal clear about what I wanted. That's literally the whole point of a custom order. They like to ignore customers when there's an issue. I was ignored at first, then only responded after I pointed out how unprofessional they were handling things. That's when they offered the 10% discount. But the moment I asked for a fair 50% refund, they ghosted me completely. No response, nothing. That says everything you need to know about how they treat customers who have legitimate concerns.
