This place is ok. I thought the ice cream was ok. Nothing special but definitely not gross. Just ok. I do think their ice cream is overpriced for what it's worth. I got the banana bread flavor and it was ok. It tasted more milky than anything but I'm thinking they use whole fat milk for their bases. I do love the add the toppings options and they got a lot of good ones too like cheesecake bites. Unfortunately we did not experience the same level of excellent customer service on our first visit Saturday as some of the other reviewers. When we first entered there were several people sitting around waiting. No one was eating ice cream. Not one employee greeted us, or acknowledged we were there. No one told us we had to order on a kiosk on the far wall. As we stood there, finally another customer told us where to place our order. The kiosk was easy enough to navigate but would be difficult for an elderly or disabled person. If placing a verbal order with an employee is possible, no one would know because of the lack of communication from employees. There was a line waiting behind us to order. People tend to be impatient. It takes time to read the menu items and figure out what to order. There needs to be at least one additional kiosk available. After we managed to place our order we waited. And, we waited and waited. Finally after 20 minutes our number was called. The ice cream itself was fine. There are numerous choices and combinations you can pick. However, for us, it was no better than Cold Stone or any other ice cream store. I hope this business manages to succeed. There are numerous employee training issues that need to be addressed. The wait time to order and receiving your order needs to somehow be more streamlined. The majority of customers these days are not used to long waits. I don't know if this business model is sustainable over a long period of time. Hopefully it's still in business a year from now. My family and I stopped by Rock N Roll Ice Cream in Modesto to check it out since we were in the area. The store was super clean and busy the whole time we were there, which is usually a good sign. They had one kiosk to order from, but the system was pretty self explanatory and we placed our order within a few minutes. We ordered two Yo! Oreo rolled ice creams and added Nutella drizzle, brownie bites, whipped cream, and extra crushed Oreos. Wow... these things were dense and heavy. There was a lot of ice cream and toppings. The kids couldn't even finish half of theirs, so of course I had to go into dad mode and help them finish it. For the amount of ice cream you get, it's actually a great value. I also liked that the ice cream is a little firm at first because it makes it last longer while you're eating it. Every bite feels like a fresh bite with all the toppings mixed in. The staff was very friendly and wholesome. They checked in with us and made sure we knew we could ask if we needed anything. We waited about 7-10 minutes for our order, which we didn't mind at all because it was definitely worth the wait. They also had games in the shop, which helped keep the kids occupied while we waited. Service sucks and "premium" ice cream is a stretch. Was welcomed in but forced to use the order kiosk. The employee acted like we were a bother. The ice cream is bland and flavorless. They are skimpy on their toppings and don't believe their claim of unlimited sauces. I ordered the Biscoff Biscotti with Oreos, cookie dough and biscoff topping. I added chocolate, white chocolate and sweetened condensed milk for my sauces and you can barely tell anything is on the ice cream. With all of that it was bland and flavorless. A maybe eight ounce container of ice cream for $10? I can get an extra large frozen yogurt with the same toppings and have more to eat for less money. Leaning to 3.5 stars. I have mixed feelings. It was definitely better than run-of-the-mill spots, but had some downsides too. First the positives. As soon as I walked in they were super friendly and helpful. You order from a kiosk, which was a little different, but was easy to do. There are plenty of options for everything, and you pay right at the kiosk. The ice cream tasted good, as did the toppings, and what you get is more than enough. The downsides were the ice-cream was hard, it was tough to get the spoon into it. It's made fresh in front of you, so I think the hardness is just a bi-product of the process. While ordering at the kiosk was easy, I like the interaction of ordering with a person. One of my toppings was banana. I think I literally got three small, thin slices. All of the toppings sit on top of the rolls, so with the ice cream being hard, I found it difficult to combine ice cream and topping. The last thing was it was $10. To me, I prefer what I get at another chain, mix-in, higher quality shop, with creamier ice cream, for slightly less. Overall, I enjoyed my order. I come to this shopping center all the time and have never realized this place was here! I was looking for an ice cream place nearby and it popped up so I took my son to try.
