Andy and Lee are the proprietors (I think). I've been coming here for over a decade. I've brought my kid here since he was knee high to a grasshopper. Andy is a GREAT guy, and an awesome barber. He's usually booked, so my goto for as long as i can remember has been Lee (or Li, not sure- i've never asked her spelling). They are both friendly, and you can tell they love their work. As far as the haircuts, I've NEVER had a bad haircut here. If i did, i'm sure it'd be my mistake in not explaining it. Reliable results every time- a GOOD HAIRCUT. They are a local business and whenever i call, they always try to accommodate my schedule to get my haircut. There is not much to say other than come here, make 2 new friends and get a good haircut. If i could put 0 starts I would have done it ! I went there for a hot shave. The man was busy so I got "shaved" by the woman. I was "OK... never happen but let's give a try" She start to shave me with the electrical razor. Interesting but not uncommon. Then she started doing the close shave. The quality of haircut is only moderate. I've had far better for the same price or less in other states. They do a very brief straight edge trim of a few places around the hairline, but the technique is only so-so. Not cutting me is a minimum, not the mark of an expert. No offer to trim my beard, no effort to properly smooth the hair into the beard as I expect at any reasonable hair cutter. No, they do not appear to do eyebrow trims. The ability of the person to understand me was only moderate. I had to repeat myself several times on a very standard description of how to cut my hair. The wait is very long, averaging over 25 minutes per person ahead of you. I attempted to call ahead and get an appointment, but was told abruptly over the phone that they do not take appointments. Then someone was taken ahead of me in line while I was told that only the other person does walk-ins. Signs on the wall indicated that appointments and call-aheads are taken. I've been to a couple barbers around south bay and while all of them have been okay, I found myself returning to this place twice now. Both times I've gotten my haircut by the lady. I asked how long she's been here and she said since it opened 10 years ago. Also this place has no relation to the other Mr. T's Barber shop. As in I went through that phase in every insecure man's life when he tries to grow his hair as long as possible hoping he'll turn into Brad Pitt from Legends of the Fall but his face remains the same. It was a year for me. I got the woman barber instead of the guy. I heard the guy specializes in fades. You couldn't fade my hair doe like you shouldn't the Heat. She was really, really good. If you have long hair and want short hair, this is the place you have been looking for. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, which is a must when you're dealing with your hair. They actually listen to you when you tell them you want your hair a certain way, they don't get creative on your head. Some barbers give you the haircut they want (sometimes the only one they know) but you will come out looking nice and tight. New furniture in the waiting area, new barber chairs, HUGE flat screen tv! makes waiting time fly by. Appointments are available, but I always walk in sans appointment, that's how I roll. This place sucks,I rather give myself a haircut. They don't accept debit card,only cash which is shady because most places like this that only accept cash are doing shady business with the state not reporting there earning. I went in one day to get a haircut and walked in and asked the guy if they take debt card/visa. He said no and I asked where is the closes atm or bank he said down the street, he held a spot for me while I ran down the street to get cash. I come back wait 20 mins then the Asian Chinese whatever the hell she is started to cut my hair and she said something to the other guy who works in there language and both looked at me so I knew they where talking shit. Then I finished my haircut and pay the lady $20. The board on the wall shows $17 so I figure $3 tip is plenty so I gave her $20 bucks. Then the guy said its $20 bucks and I said I did give her $20 then he said oh she cut your hair with the blade to line you up and I said i never asked for it. She should of told me it was extra if not I wouldn't get it done. He acts like 2-3 bucks is going to make or break her day. I'm sorry they have to cut hair for a living. Came in for the first time showing Vinte (old Vietnamese dude) a picture of what I wanted which was a undercut and reminded him throughout the whole cut cause he seemed not to understand English that well. I'll admit my first couple times my experience had been hindered due to long wait times and being denied a cut 40 minutes before closing. There are three locations, where do you want to get your hair cut; I'll tell you where at any of these shops. You have Andy who can cut you up and look fresh instantly; then you have James. King James can give you that fly looking fade to a taper in minuets and make you feel confident enough to take on the world. But as for my favorite that has to be VINCE; off Washington and linden; the original shop where it started all. He values you as a person and will give you exactly what you want.
