After years of blowdrying on high, flat ironing, teasing and generally punishing my fine locks, my hair is on the thinner side and just not as vibrant as it was years ago. I don't cut my hair very often. It's hard for me to trust stylists because so many of them just want to cut it all off and give me the standard layers with framing around my face which I really hate, so it takes all year to grow back. Well, meeting Martha at Limón really made me think that I may have found a stylist that understood. She listened and gave thoughtful, patient suggestions of what had worked for other clients. She understood that although I know I needed to cut off a good chunk of hair, I needed to take it slow. She gave me options, cutting off a bit then after blow drying, let me take a look and decide if I wanted to take off more. Seeing it dry made all the difference and I decided to take off a bit more and felt good about it. Often times I'll leave a salon thinking that it's ok only to get home and realize that too much had been cut and I'd have to wait months and months for it to grow back. Not this time. I felt good about it when I left, and days later when I washed and styled it myself which is kind of rare for me:) The salon is in a convenient location and has great snacks and drinks for their clients. A well deserved retirement and the shop is left in great hands. As of early Aug'21, Raquel is the only one working the shop. She is in the process of expanding the shop and doing some remodeling and looking to serve the community and customers! The wait might be some time, as she is the one working and she is looking for help! I showed Raquel pictures of what I normally get and she took her time to get the details right. I usually get a skin fade and drop fade the back with a hard line. After she finishes up, she will give you the mirror to check to your liking. This time, I wanted the back shorter than how she had cut it, so she spent some time cutting my hair shorter to my request! This place will definitely be packed real fast once more people know that Raquel has moved to Den's. She had a large clientele base at Jerry's. No appointments, walk in only. Parking lot with lots of space sharing with the grocery store. Raquel takes her time to cut to the customer's liking. Once the word gets out, Den's will be packed!
