I've been going to Santi for years. Im originally from LA so it was a nightmare finding an actual barber. Done right barbershop is clean eclectic and just right for anyone. Clean fades, nice lines and great straight edge work. The environment is perfect so that you wont have to stress out when you sit down. I was looking to try out a new barber and read the reviews on Yelp, and figured to what extent could it go wrong, after all its a simple haircut. I was wrong!!! I have thick dark hair, regularly prefer to get a simple haircut to keep my hair balanced, and at Doneright I asked for a crewcut. The barber (name omitted) spent a while, and after a while he finished. The hair wasn't balanced on all sides. It looked as if he was operating to the best of his imagination. A lot was left on the forehead to sweep sideways. He didn't check in between or at the end on whether it looks satisfactory or whether I want any changes. The problem wasn't the final cut. It was when my hair started growing back and it grew all unbalanced on different sides. Moving socially, I felt very disappointed the entire time my hair was growing out of proportion. Regardless, I tipped 20%. When I couldn't bear anymore I visited a super cuts, got a regular hair cut, and looks balanced till now. The hair cut was pricey, and I wouldn't recommend this shop for Indian hair cut. The barbers don't have enough experience fashioning Indian hair to provide a satisfactory experience. read more

It was my first time getting a cut from this place. I have been going to various barber shops and haven't really found one where I felt like I was getting the cut I want. I think my hair is complicated and trying to find the right style that would work for me, is a bit challenging. I was helped by Irvin and he was dope! He really helped and listened to how I wanted my hair to look even though I felt I was all over the place in telling him what I want. Be aware if you are 10 mins late, you don't get a haircut. When I was making the appointment nobody tell me the rule. I was 12 mins late and I didn't get a haircut. I didn't receive any call to confirm the appointment or before the appointment either. Thus, I wasted my gas and time and get no haircut. Highly recommend the shop letting their customer know about the rule beforehand. Plus people working there are arrogant and rude. They just said to me "you are late and you can't get a cut today." I stopped in yesterday, having spent the past two months growing out my hair after a disastrous cut at my last place. I didn't realize appointments were needed, but Tom kindly agreed to take me. The vibe of the shop was interesting - lots of sports and music memorabilia, sort of a mashup between an old-fashioned barber shop and hipster hangout (lots of the barbers are replete with bears, piercings, and tats). Anyway - Tom gave me the best cut I've had in a very long time. He took the necessary time, gave me a beautiful fade on the sides and a straight-razor shave on the back, and then finished it off with a splash of the most wonderful bay rum I've ever smelled. Hmm I came here because of a colleagues recommendation. Half way through I needed to correct the way my hair was growing on one side and the top fade/flat the barber attempted was a failure. When I pointed it out, rather than acknowledging it - he said that's the best he could do. Done Right should be renamed to Not done at all! I frequent the nail shop next door and the shop looked cool and the ratings looked good but when we both my husband and I called they gave us the run around as there is no centralized scheduling system and the left hand doesn't know anything about the right hand. The barbers kept telling us to call back when all the barbers would be in and on the third phone call the guy who answered the phone shouted out," does anyone have any open appointments tomorrow?" And we could hear faint "no" in the background. Never did they offer another appointment option, just flat out no. Seems like they don't want more clients, so good luck getting an appointment. read more

I have very hesitant to write this review. I wish I could give it better, but I just can't. My experience as it happened... I called a week in advance to make an appointment for 2, my dad and I, the day before my wedding. I knew wanted a good hair cut, done right! I mean, this was the most important day of my life, I had to look good, because those pictures are FOREVER! Made the appointment no problem. So we show up 10 mins early, better than 10 mins late. And they took us! I asked who was the best because this was an important cut, my wedding being the next day. Every barber got offended simultaneously, and made a comment to me. "that was the worst thing I've ever seen happen in this shop" ...awkward... anyways, turns out my appointment somehow overlapped someone else's. So I have this guy sitting there for an hour while I get my important hair cut. awkward... Well, I go for the full shabang! Hot towel shave and all. Haircut was awesome! Top Notch, very pleased! The shave, not so much... and cost as much as the cut. I got 1 towel. just one... dude cut me up, my skin was irritated as all hell AND I had to go home and do a touch up because the shave, for lack f a better word, sucked. My dad had a similar experience. So time comes to pay, and its 40 bucks, plus a decent tip, 50 per, so we paid a hundred bucks and both needed shave touch ups. For that price I should be able to walk out of there ready to get married!! I couldn't. Also, they left me very dirty. Super itchy, red bleeding face, hair everywhere... I just can't do it. Anyway, my dad and I muscled through and got a beer and steak afterward, we felt much better, but the experience was the same. Could I go back? eh, maybe for another big occasion, but will NOT be getting shaved!! and I'll make sure to go straight home for the shower. Yes, the place is nice. Great atmosphere. I went to DR after reading all the awesome reviews and all.. First impression of the shop was great. Really cool atmosphere, people had really cool attitude. But then came the haircut, what I told the person doing the haircut went out of the window and I was given the haircut he liked. Which I had to later het hanged of course. Once I was okayish with my haircut.. I asked him to try a certain clay they had and they did. I asked them about it and they mentioned they only have water based clays and gels since they are easy to get out of hair. I trusted them and their experience, I bought the product and took it home. To my horror, I tried to shampoo the product and it just wouldn't come out of my hair even after 5 washes. I called them and told them about it and checked with them if I can return the product and it is absolutely untouched. They refused, saying they wouldn't know what to do with it. First they gave wrong information about the product, and now they won't take it back, even if it is unused. I gave this guy $20 for haircut, $20 for $18 product and $5 tip and this how they treated me. Had the most horrible experience of my life, never going there again. read more

This place was recommended by a regular to the shop. My husband and I randomly stopped by with our 5-year-old for a haircut. Tom was in the shop and was able to take him right away. We were completely impressed: Tom kept the conversation flowing and not only talked to us, but also kept our little one engaged in conversation. The shop is incredibly clean, has a really cool, chill vibe, and the decor gives you plenty to look at and talk about. Called Done Right Barber on a Friday to see about getting in for a haircut. Jerry answered the phone and was able to make an appointment with me that same day. When I got to the barbershop I was very warmly greeted by the other barbers, and also got thanked for coming in ten minutes early. The one thing I want to commend this barbershop most for is their atmosphere. Pictures, good music, and friendly banter as the barbers do their job. Jerry did an excellent job on my haircut. He asked what I wanted and after talking for a moment got to work. He was very precise and you can tell he has a love for what he does. Been getting my hair cut by Steve for a while now, and he's done a great job. He takes his time to get it right and he listens to what my concerns are. He even has some suggestions on styling and strategizing how to get my hair a certain way for my wedding was really awesome. These guys are very professional and never talk down their customers or speak negatively about anyone so that's great. My only suggestion to make it a perfect experience would be to not answer texts during a haircut, it hasn't bothered me much but I could see how it might make someone older than myself feel. This barber shop is on point. Brought my son March 26, 2015 to get his hair cut by Tom. Was greeted the minute we opened the door in a friendly upbeat manner, which I loved. Tom was already working on someone so he kindly said it will be just a moment and he will get right to us. As he finished with the first customer I noticed him cleaning up his area and actually sanitizing his clippers :-O you go anywhere else they won't do this it's straight from one customer to the next which is so unsanitary. He did my sons hair so good I will always come back to have his hair cut here. Everyone is so nice, cracking jokes and having fun. Like the other Yelper said everyone that came in the door was greeted by name which is so rare these days. It's a men's barbershop so next time the hubby can go. Saturday, about 12:30, strolled into the shop for the first time and was greeted warmly by the nearest barber. The staff was welcoming and asked if I had an appointment which I did not and set me up with Tom the barber. I was seated in about 15 minutes and explained what I wanted to Tom and we were on our way. The staff was very relaxed, the location was clean and smelled good. Santi's been cutting my hair for at least the last 5 years, maybe even longer, since he was at Big Jims. I have never had a bad haircut or line up from him yet. I get My haircut regularly from Santi, & I get lined up by Jerry. Both of em are legit & do a great job. Tom's cut my hair once & he also did a great job. Never got cut by Steve, but from what I've seen he does a great job as well, & he got a regular string of customers always comin in. Pretty sure that wouldn't be the case if he sucked. The atmosphere / vibe in here is always really chill. They got 2 TV's that usually got sports on, or they usually have some good music playing. If you bring kids, they tone down the conversations & will watch their language, so you should be good to bring them in if they need a haircut. They usually only do appointments. If they have something free, you might be able to do a walk - in, but I'd recommend you make an appointment, because they usually are booked up. read more
